Primordial Godking

Chapter 5: Rebirth: The Journey Begins

"Urgh..." A wave of dizziness hit the awakening Li Tianyan as he tried to stand up from the floor.

His dizziness slowly faded and he gradually awoke from his haze, "Where am.... Wait WHAT!"

Just as Li Tianyan was about to recall the events that led him to this situation, an even bigger problem caught his attention, a strange rock like egg with red glowing engravings sat at the bed of his dantian where his peak grade foundation used to be, immediately Li Tianyan noticed this he was washed with horror from head to toe, his foundation was gone without a trace and so was his cultivation!

"My cul... My cultivation? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME YOU MONSTER!" The current Li Tianyan was overcome by rage, he roared and howled at Zhao Ming who sat by the alter like an insane person, his eyes turned blood red with twirling engravings flickering in and out of existence, it was clear that he wanted nothing more than to peel the flesh from her bones and watch her die a gruesome death.

Zhao Ming on the other hand who was stunned by his sudden outburst let out a sly smile as she realized why he was in such a state. "Relax Young Lord, the ritual was successful, you are now an important member of my Imperial Xuanhu Sect."

Li Tianyan didn't consider her words at all, not even for a second, as soon as he saw her smile, he lost his mind entirely in a fit of rage, he took a step and slapped his palm forward at a scary speed aiming to smash Zhao Ming's head in with a single palm strike.

"Don't get cocky Young Lord, you are far from being a match for me." As she said this, she reached out her own palm to meet Li Tianyan's.

Pa!

A loud slapping sound echoed in the empty cave as the two palm met.

Bang!

Li Tianyan was easily defeated in that clash, he was blasted away like a rag-doll crashing into the side of the cave wall with a bang, that, however didn't stop him, he immediately jumped to his feet and charged at Zhao Ming, this time, his eyes where active, they were blood red with ancient engravings circling around his pitch black pupils.

"Die..." Li Tianyan roared as he activated his Cloud steps, a standard movement technique passed down in the Li clan

Zhao Ming observed Li Tianyan's ferocious charge with a calm, almost amused expression. Her long robes swayed slightly as a faint golden aura enveloped her body, exuding a power far beyond what Li Tianyan could comprehend.

"hmm? A decent technique for someone at your level," she remarked, her voice calm, but with a trace of mockery. "But against me, it's as futile as trying to reach the heavens with bare hands."

Li Tianyan's movements blurred as he closed the distance, his rage amplifying every step. He appeared above Zhao Ming in an instant, his hand forming into a claw, aiming for her shoulder. His blood-red eyes burned with hatred, and the engravings around his pupils seemed to pulse with an ancient, mysterious energy.

"I said, DIE!" he roared, his voice reverberating through the cave.

Zhao Ming didn't flinch. With a single flick of her finger, a surge of spiritual energy shot forth like a tidal wave, slamming into Li Tianyan mid-air.

Bang!

His body flew backward again, this time crashing into the floor, the impact sending cracks spreading through the stone beneath him. The force was so overwhelming that his ribs creaked under the pressure. But even as blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, Li Tianyan gritted his teeth and pushed himself up.

"You..." he growled, his voice low and trembling with fury. "I'll kill you if it's the last thing I do!"

Zhao Ming let out a soft sigh, shaking her head. "Such tenacity. Admirable, but misplaced." She slowly stood up from her position at the altar, her every movement exuding an otherworldly grace. "You're not fighting to win, are you? This is just a tantrum, an outlet for your frustration."

Li Tianyan spat on the ground, his face contorted with defiance. "You've ruined my life! My cultivation! My future! You've taken everything from me, what other reason do I need?"

Zhao Ming's smile faded, her expression turning solemn. "Ruined your life? On the contrary, I've given you the chance to transcend your mortal limits. That egg within your dantian is a gift—one that countless cultivators would kill for. Yet here you are, blinded by your ignorance."

Her words only fueled his rage further. With a roar, Li Tianyan activated his Cloud Steps once more, his movements sharper and faster, as though his body refused to acknowledge its limits. This time, he aimed a flurry of punches at her, each strike carrying the remnants of his once-peak cultivation.

Zhao Ming didn't move from her spot. She raised her hand, her palm glowing faintly with golden light, and intercepted every attack effortlessly. Each of his punches met an invisible barrier, the force of his strikes dissipating into nothingness.

Finally, as Li Tianyan unleashed a desperate palm strike infused with all his remaining strength, Zhao Ming caught his wrist mid-air.

"Enough," she said, her voice cold and commanding.

Li Tianyan froze, his arm trembling as he tried to break free. But her grip was unyielding, her strength as immovable as a mountain.

"You've made your point, Young Lord," she continued, her tone softening slightly. "I understand your anger, but it's time to face reality. You are no match for me, not now, not in the near future. Let go of your rage, and focus on the path ahead."

She released his wrist, and Li Tianyan staggered backward, his body heaving from exertion. His blood-red eyes flickered, the engravings in his pupils dimming as exhaustion began to take hold.

"Why...?" he muttered, his voice hoarse. "Why did you do this to me?"

Zhao Ming stepped closer, her gaze piercing yet oddly compassionate. "Because you have potential, Young Lord. The egg in your dantian is not a curse—it's your destiny. Nurture it, grow stronger, I have only done this to give you a fresh start, one of unprecedented achievements."

Li Tianyan clenched his fists, his anger still simmering beneath the surface. But deep down, he knew the truth—no matter how much he hated Zhao Ming, she was far beyond his reach. His rage was powerless against her overwhelming strength, and the disparity between them felt like an endless chasm.

For now, all he could do was glare at her, his mind a storm of emotions as he tried to come to terms with his new reality.

Zhao Ming turned away, her figure bathed in the dim glow of the altar. "In your rage, you seemed to have forgotten that someone without a cultivation realm couldn't fight like the way you did neither can they use cultivation technique, like you did just now."

Shock appeared on Li Tianyan's face as he realized the implications of her words. "Dose that mean I'm not a cripple?" His earlier rage had disappeared, now he was overwhelmed by pure shock.

"No, I'm afraid that your cultivation has indeed been erased Young Lord, but your dantian is still intact so you should be able to regain your formal strength in less than 20 days, however you will not be going down the path of a normal cultivator any longer." As Zhao Ming spoke, she turned around to look at the expression on Li Tianyan's face before proceeding.

"You are now a member of my Imperial Xuanhu Sect and the Ninth Candidate Protector no less, and you shall cultivate as such...

I will pass down to you the core cultivation technique of our sect, and the body tempering technique of my clan so you can restart your cultivation and create the strongest foundation possible." Said Zhao Ming

"Body tempering... Sigh... Although my cultivation base was high and I was hailed as a once in a thousand years genius in the Li clan, my biggest weakness has always been my body, you see I was born with an extremely feeble body." Li Tianyan lamented.

"Not to worry, the Xuanhu egg inside you will share a portion of its bloodline with you slowly as it matures, endowing you with two bloodlines, although the one gotten from the Xuanhu won't be as pure as your eye bloodline, it'll be just as powerful as you grow stronger. The fusion of these two bloodlines will grant you unparalleled potential, enhancing both your physical strength and your spiritual energy, making you a force to be reckoned with."

Li Tianyan's mind was in turmoil as he tried to process her words. His foundation was gone, his cultivation erased, and yet, Zhao Ming's promises of a new path, of a rebirth through the Imperial Xuanhu Sect, it seemed to offer a flicker of hope. The shock and rage still roiled within him, but a part of him, buried deep inside, couldn't help but wonder if this path might lead to a power beyond his wildest dreams.

"But... why me?" Li Tianyan asked, his voice quieter now, tinged with confusion. "Why did you choose me for this... fate?"

Zhao Ming turned back to him, her expression softening slightly. "Its simple, because she chose you."

Li Tianyan clenched his fists, the fiery embers of his spirit reigniting. "Then I will make sure you don't regret it. No matter how hard this new path may be, I will climb it. I'll rise, stronger than ever."

Zhao Ming gave a small, approving smile. "I hope you do, Young Lord. You'll need every ounce of strength to survive the challenges ahead. But for now, rest. You've endured much. Your journey has only begun Young Lord."
