Primordial God Of Time

Chapter 178: Planning To Kill Kathryn!

There were also the final words she had said.

"What exactly are the Twelve Calamities?"

"Are they so terrifying that even someone who regressed so far back into the past could only survive up to the eighth?"

Kranos's thoughts on what the calamities were continued to race as he stood up and adjusted his posture.

He had to carefully examine everything about himself to make sure he was completely fine.

He reached into his mental space. No damage had been done to his Time Palace or his Dao Palace.

Next, he extended his senses into the timestream and sensed that the Sovereign Star Sword was still there, steadily absorbing starlight like a silent guardian.

"This…" His gaze shifted to the rock that sat quietly in his mental space.

"The Heaven-Defying Treasure? Is it because of this that I regressed so far back?"

He had another theory. Although the Soul-Cleansing Treasure seemed like a logical explanation, he could not ignore the rock.

Since it was a heaven-defying item, did that not suggest it had a major role in his regression?

But Kranos could not be certain of anything just yet.

He began pacing slightly, his bare feet brushing against the floor as he simulated the events he expected would unfold over the next two months.

At this point in time, the terrifying Aurora had not yet arrived.

Just thinking about her made a chilling killing intent flash through his mind. However, a second thought stopped it.

"What if I can use her to my advantage? Since she knew about the Divine Illusion Eyes, she might be able to ask her master for a method to counter them."

"Her help will be much needed when dealing with Kathryn."

Kranos's thoughts raced faster. No matter how many scenarios he ran, he could not beat Aurora. Not until he reached the God Emperor Realm.

He could still clearly remember the terrifying illusion that Kathryn had created.

However, reaching the God Emperor Realm was not something he could do overnight. He was still only in the Dao Palace Realm after all.

"I can also get Desmond's help," he thought to himself.

Now that Kranos knew Desmond was the shadow constantly following them, he realized that he could use him as a chess piece.

Even if Desmond might not offer direct help, if he informed the Scarlet Moon Organization about what sort of anomaly Kathryn was, they would definitely create countermeasures to eliminate her.

From her own words, Kranos understood that Kathryn had reached a level few had ever attained. Her strength clearly exceeded just the Divine Illusion Eyes.

"Hah, planning all of this is truly exhausting."

Letting out a deep breath, he stepped out of the room.

He could not afford any mistakes, so he made it seem like he was simply taking a walk.

Kathryn sensed him the moment he left, but she did not think too much of it.

After all, staying inside for so long, it was natural to go outside and breathe in some fresh air from time to time.

As soon as he stepped outside, Kranos's figure flickered and disappeared. Using the Heaven and Earth Movement Technique, he appeared several tens of meters away.

"If I'm right, Desmond should be tailing us closely."

Kranos deliberately revealed his presence as he wandered calmly through the clouds.

Far off, hidden among the shadows of tall buildings, a monstrous figure sensed him.

The figure slithered forward, emerging from the darkness in its grotesque form.

Once Desmond confirmed that it was not a trap, his figure vanished once again and charged after Kranos with great speed.

Kranos continued using his movement technique and soon arrived at a high mountain.

The mountain had sparse vegetation, with just a few trees scattered along its rocky slopes.

The air here was cool and fresh, brushing against his face like a soft breeze from the heavens.

He scanned his surroundings calmly.

There, in the shadow beneath one of the trees, he sensed a difference. The shape of the shadow was off. It did not match what it should have been.

"Just as I guessed. He is here."

Kranos's expression remained calm, but a sense of satisfaction bloomed within him.

He was not afraid of Desmond. In the previous timeline, he had dealt with him several times.

All it would take was pausing time, and he could easily kill Desmond without any hesitation.

"Unfortunately, I do not have a technique to control him and make him my puppet."

If he could do that, things would become far easier.

Kranos sighed and, with his eyes closed, spoke in a calm but commanding voice.

"You have been following me for quite a while, Desmond. Are you waiting for the perfect time to kill me?"

Though he spoke these words, Kranos knew that was not Desmond's intention.

He was likely just trying to confirm his identity. In the previous life, no assassination attempt had been made until the full force of the Scarlet Moon Organization had arrived.

Hearing Kranos's words, Desmond was filled with shock.

How had his presence been discovered?

When had Kranos figured it out?

He had thought that hiding in the shadows would completely mask his aura. Clearly, he had been mistaken.

With a sigh, Desmond stepped out from the shadows and revealed himself to Kranos.

"How did you know I was there?" he asked cautiously.

Even though he believed Kranos had sensed him, he had to make sure there was not some other method of detection.

Kranos kept his eyes closed and replied with confidence.

"It was simple. I sensed you the moment you started tailing me."

Desmond remained silent. Changing the subject, he asked,

"We are enemies, but even though you knew I was following you, you still came here. There must be a reason, right?"

At this, Kranos opened his silver eyes and looked directly at Desmond, who remained in his monstrous shadow form.

"I need your help."

Kranos did not bother with pleasantries. He got straight to the point.

Desmond froze in disbelief.

"You need my help? What if I betray you?"

His mind was filled with doubts.

Was this a trap?

That was his first thought, but he dismissed it.

Since Kranos had made it clear that he was aware of Desmond's presence, that meant he did not consider him an enemy.

Kranos said seriously, "You will not betray me. As for what I need, I want your help to…"

"Kill the anomaly."

The words echoed in Desmond's mind like thunder.

Of course, he knew who the anomaly was. Kathryn.

But he still had no idea what kind of anomaly she was.

That was exactly why he remained extremely cautious around her.

If she was one of those terrifying otherworldly anomalies who descended into this world with mysterious and destructive powers, he might not even see his death coming.

Thinking about it, he sneered.

"You think it will be easy to kill an anomaly?"

Kranos did not respond.

He simply stood up and turned his gaze to the distant horizon.

He understood completely.

The fact that Desmond had not outright rejected the request meant he could be used.

His only hesitation came from fear.

"Tell me, what do you know about anomalies?" Kranos asked as his silver eyes scanned the clouds.

Though Kathryn had told him some things, he was unsure of their accuracy.

He needed another source. If Desmond had knowledge, it would help greatly.

"And why should I tell you that information?" Desmond replied coldly, his tone filled with contempt.

He knew Kranos needed him, and he wanted something in return.

Kranos's eyes flashed with cold light. Without waiting another second, he released a powerful wave of time aura into the air.

He had no time for pointless negotiations. Besides, he needed to vent his frustration.

Time froze.

Using the Heaven and Earth Movement Technique, Kranos appeared right in front of Desmond and punched him directly in the face.

He unleashed a flurry of attacks. Blow after blow landed on Desmond's large frame.

A few minutes later, the beating subsided.

Kranos looked down at Desmond's battered body and asked in a calm but threatening voice,

"So, you were saying?"

Chills ran through Desmond's body.

He had always thought of Kranos as composed and calm.

He never expected this ruthless, merciless side.

No longer wanting to keep any secrets, Desmond quickly shouted,

"I will tell you everything I know!"

Kranos nodded and slapped him lightly on the head.

"Good."

Without delay, Desmond began explaining.

"At the Scarlet Moon Organization, there are a few records and books that talk about anomalies."

"From what I know, there have been many anomalies throughout the years, but most were eliminated over time."

"However, there is one group we do not dare provoke."

"The Anomaly Alliance. A group of anomalies that have come together. Within their ranks, you will find all sorts of terrifying beings."

"Fortunately, they do not stay in any one immortal world. They travel from world to world, never remaining in one place for long."

Hearing this, Kranos's heart trembled.

Did Kathryn belong to this alliance?

If so, then things had just become far more complicated.
