Chapter 175: Destroying The Time/Dao Palaces
Sorry for the late chapter, I'm seriously sick and have to cope with 3 novels. It isn't easy... enjoy...
Kranos opened his eyes weakly and gazed off into the distance.
There, the skies cracked open, and he saw more than a hundred God Kings rapidly approaching.
A multitude of divine silhouettes emerged, each radiating an overwhelming aura. Blades of celestial light shimmered, hammers etched with runes of law glowed with terrifying energy, and spears hummed with annihilative force as they descended in unison.
His gaze slowly dropped, yet he did not completely despair or lose hope.
"Is this truly the end?" Kranos muttered, reluctant and unwilling to surrender.
Without a moment's hesitation, he surged forward, charging toward the God Kings. His sword gleamed with an ethereal glow, shimmering like starlight.
Kranos still had a final trump card— the Sovereign Star Sword. He wasn't entirely without options.
For several months, he had been gathering the energy of the stars into this weapon. In addition, there was the forbidden technique from the Time Cultivation Manual, a move of last resort.
Previously, he had been unwilling to use the secret art, for it required sacrificing all of his cultivation. But now, at the brink of death, hesitation no longer held any meaning.
No matter the cost, Kranos would never allow himself to be a puppet.
An explosive bang rang out.
The first clash erupted with a detonation that warped the very air. The sound was deafening, as though countless stars collided across the heavens.
Dozens of God Kings surged forward, each step distorting the fabric of space. Their divine weapons descended in perfect synchronicity, carving arcs of absolute destruction.
Kranos met them head-on, wielding Eternal Hunger without a flicker of hesitation.
Infusing his essence of time into the battlefield, he paused the flow of time momentarily.
He knew these were merely illusions, but even illusions held the power to kill.
Kranos was unwilling to take that chance.
As time froze, Eternal Hunger tore through the barrage of divine attacks. It cut apart weapons infused with celestial laws. Sparks erupted as lightning split the sky with wild abandon.
The resulting shockwaves leveled trees in the distance, turning them into clouds of ash and debris.
Golden flames suddenly erupted as one God King unleashed a solar domain. A titanic sun floated behind him, burning the atmosphere itself into nothingness. Pillars of searing fire surged across the battlefield, scorching all in their path.
From another direction, a God King invoked the Void. Everything within a kilometer radius vanished into a black sphere of absolute silence.
Another God King gave Kranos no opportunity to respond. With ruthless speed, he summoned a storm of meteorites forged from condensed earth elements, raining them down upon Kranos like an apocalyptic deluge.
Kranos blurred.
Utilizing the Heaven and Earth Movement Technique, he barely kept pace with the lightning-fast attacks of the God Kings. Multiple clones burst into existence in flashes of silver light, each one intercepting, deflecting, or countering the overwhelming domains and attacks.
A group of God Kings combined their might, forming a celestial battle array. Its activation crackled with arcs of divine lightning across the skies. A concentrated beam of lightning energy, compressed into a single streak of destruction, descended like a divine punishment upon Kranos.
He staggered as his knees nearly buckled. The weight of the beam threatened to crush him entirely.
In that instant, his body was obliterated. Yet, within the core of destruction, Kranos's heart remained calm.
Time reversed.
His form reassembled, restored in the blink of an eye.
Pausing the attack's momentum with precision, he reacted without delay.
Eternal Hunger rose to meet the strike, and the beam split around the blade. It detonated in the distance, forming a crater that spanned miles.
In the air above, a crimson-robed God King hurled a spear that extended for hundreds of meters, striking with the velocity of a collapsing star.
Kranos responded by accelerating time around himself.
The spear missed by a breath. In the moment it did, his counterattack arrived with fatal precision. The crimson-robed God King was bisected cleanly, his upper and lower halves frozen in different seconds of time.
Another surge followed. Over a dozen God Kings unleashed their divine domains in unison.
Kranos remained composed. He manipulated time effortlessly, pausing and slowing it at will. His mastery over time had grown steadily, evolving with each clash.
Blinding light swallowed the battlefield.
Within the brilliance, shadowy silhouettes fought in violent succession. One God King fell, his body shattering into ribbons of divine essence. Another vanished entirely, sliced apart by a sword technique that ignored both space and time.
The void-piercing strike.
Yet their numbers did not dwindle easily.
For every fallen illusion, another took its place. Each wave became more violent, each technique more refined.
Some wielded water that moved faster than thought. Others conjured beasts of pure divine wrath—celestial dragons with wings of flame, serpents coiled from lightning, and avatars formed from destruction incarnate.
The air grew thick, saturated with the will to destroy.
Above, clouds twisted into spiraling vortexes of divine force.
The rhythm of battle shifted with Eternal Hunger's dance. Slashes tore through several God Kings simultaneously. The battlefield contorted under the weight of distortion.
One God King exploded violently as a delayed slash cleaved through his very core.
Another attempted to bend space, fleeing in desperation, only to find his own head severed in the dimension he had escaped to.
For every ten that fell, ten more surged from the illusionary realm. The sky became a tide of golden silhouettes and glittering divine weapons.
Thunder. Fire. Ice. Every element Kranos had once encountered was weaponized against him.
As the final wave approached, the heavens turned blinding white.
A combined divine technique manifested. One hundred God Kings merged their essence into a single execution technique. A colossal blade composed of pure law, stretching a hundred miles in length, descended from the skies like a guillotine from the gods.
The heavens trembled.
The earth howled.
The void itself caved in.
The battlefield was nearly annihilated.
Kranos realized he could delay no longer.
He reached into his mental space and drew out the Sovereign Star Sword.
The moment the divine sword emerged, glowing with celestial starlight, the surrounding space warped and began to collapse in fragments.
Without pause, Kranos slashed.
A thunderous boom erupted.
The sword lost its color instantly, its light fading as the energy it had stored was fully consumed.
Yet Kranos did not panic. He could still sense the sword's terrifying resonance.
As he swung it forward, a massive torrent of starlight burst forth from the skies above.
The brilliance condensed rapidly, taking the shape of a monumental sword formed from crystallized light.
The sword hovered high above the battlefield, impossibly vast. Then, without warning, it descended.
Before the God Kings could react, every single one of them was obliterated.
From afar, Kathryn's eyes widened in astonishment.
Staring at the divine sword, she was momentarily lost in disbelief.
"I did not expect him to have cultivated this technique… but that's still acceptable," she murmured. "I have only used half of my divine energy. The rest should be more than enough. There is no need to test his limits further."
"I have confirmed it. Everything I've done… it was worth it. He is exactly what I need—and far more."
Kathryn was genuinely impressed. She had not accounted for this level of resistance.
Her gaze turned cold, and an ominous glint flashed in her eyes as she conjured a figure from her divine essence.
The moment it appeared, Kranos felt a crushing wave of dread.
This time, he was certain. He could not win this battle.
That pressure—he had felt it before.
It was the same presence as the colossal palm that had forced him into regression once before.
A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he slowly turned.
There, standing in the distance, was a radiant figure cloaked in intense golden light.
A God Emperor.
Kranos could tell that this was no longer someone at the level of the God King realm.
The moment the figure appeared, it calmly waved a hand.
A divine light condensed immediately.
High above, a gigantic palm materialized, slamming down toward Kranos with the weight of a collapsing world.
This was the condensed power of an entire divine world, a feat only achievable by God Emperors or those even higher.
Kranos's eyes narrowed. A ruthless gleam surfaced in their depths. His mind became sharper than ever before.
He began revolving his Time Palace.
Cracks formed upon it instantly.
They spread in a cascading pattern, disintegrating the palace in fragments.
A dreadful aura leaked outward with every fracture.
Simultaneously, he began to destroy his Dao Palace, channeling the same fatal technique.
He would destroy himself and Kathryn along with him.
"Kathryn! You did not expect this, did you?" Kranos bellowed toward the sky.
"So what if you are an anomaly? I can still kill an anomaly today!"
"I will not give you even a sliver of opportunity to recover! Perish with me!"
The skies across the world turned blood red. A massive crack began to split open in the heavens.
From within the crack, a massive eyeball slowly emerged, observing with unsettling curiosity.
The Immortal Heavenly Eye.
Sensing the disturbance within the immortal world, the eye could no longer remain idle.
Kathryn's expression changed drastically.
She had never faced a monster like Kranos before.
The dreadful aura made her realize that he had the potential to destroy them both.
Because she had not expected such a desperate and powerful counterattack, she had remained too close.
"Kranos, stop! I will grant you your freedom!" Kathryn's voice thundered across the skies.
But Kranos remained unmoved.
Once the destruction of his Time Palace and Dao Palace had begun, there was no stopping it.
Even if he survived, his cultivation would be lost, and Kathryn could easily shackle him once more.
Besides, he had paid too high a price.
His heart was consumed with rage and hatred. Rational thought no longer held sway.
Seeing his unrelenting resolve, Kathryn shouted again.
"Kranos! Do you not wish to know what an anomaly is, and why they call me one?"
"Do you truly believe it is simply because of my strange powers?"
Kranos's strikes paused slightly.
He was curious.
And so were the readers.
