Chapter 979: The Planet King
[The Enchanted Temple - The Enchantress POV]
A video of Kent's current stance was displayed before the Enchantress.
She seemed sad, looking at the handsome face of someone she knew had given everything to the universe, yet they failed to protect someone so dear to him.
Now, they are using a loophole to reunite them.
However, this loophole was a dangerous one, and looking at Kent's expression now, she knew he was starting to have second thoughts about the quest, specifically about being asked to kill the Planet King.
"I am sorry, Chaos. I should have done something. I should have changed something. However, I didn't, and now, you are being forced to do everything on your own."
The Enchantress isn't like Lady Universe. She isn't connected to the Universe's heart, so she is free to share her emotions.
Of course, as to how deep she can go in her emotion, she knew, so shedding a few tears wouldn't create some cosmic black hole and kill billions.
"I can pretend and say my hands are tied, but we both know I should have done something. I should have altered her life or even protected her better.
Yet I didn't, simply because I was afraid of what would happen if I did.
Now, you are being forced to pay the price you shouldn't have."
She sighed, feeling a mix of shame and pain.
---
Kent, who had no idea his expression was making a Cosmic Enchantress cry, narrowed his gaze at Sylvara.
"Are you going to talk, or should I kill you and extract the memories myself?"
"Suit yourself. At least I will die knowing you will soon follow me." Sylvara seemed to have given up. Hearing Kent mention the Planet King broke her spirit.
Now, she would rather die than help Kent.
"Coward."
Kent smirked and activated the Soul Map, and then shared it with Sylvara.
The 80,000 km view of her domain appeared to allow her to see the thousands of beings currently afraid of what was happening in her domain.
They knew their Monarch was facing an opponent personally, so they were on high alert.
"I honestly don't know what or who this Planet King is; however, I plan on killing him, and you are going to help me, or else all of this will burn to the ground," Kent threatened, and Sylvara smirked.
"Go ahead. After all, once all planets are under his rule, this place will be next, and I doubt he will spare any of us. So be done with it already."
Kent looked at Sylvara for a few minutes before a sigh escaped his lips.
"Can you tell me why that is? I know you are afraid, but I don't, so you might as well use this moment to make me afraid too."
"Mind games don't work on me, half-breed."
"Half-breed. You dare call me a half-breed?" Kent's Chaotic aura exploded, pushing Sylvara back.
Clearly, this insult touched Kent's dragon heart. 'This lady is getting on my nerves'
Kent gritted his teeth. However, he calmed himself down and turned back to his human form.
'I am not sure I can hold myself back much longer'
"You will do well to not repeat that again." Kent stopped himself from getting angry, but being called a half-breed seemed to have affected him deeply.
Kent turned and looked at Vashara. She was still alive, but unconscious.
All injuries on her body had healed by the Verdant Flame of Renewal. Kent snapped his finger, and the green flame around her vanished.
"She just needs to sleep for a while."
Sylvara nodded, but she still wasn't going to tell him anything.
Kent turned to Zeroth. "Sorry for your loss."
He snapped his finger, and seventeen balls of green flames flew toward the beasts that managed to survive his onslaught.
Sylvara got one, and when she sensed the power in it, her eyes widened. She had reverted to her human form, so her reaction was genuine.
"Since you refused my offer, this is where we part ways. I will try my luck with the other six monarchs.
As for the Nirvana Flames, use them to your advantage, though I doubt it will help you much compared to what I had planned if you were to become my subordinates.
But, well, as they say, some people are just blind to see greatness."
Kent opened a portal, and the Ember Lion he tamed and named Ember appeared. He appeared in a demi-beast form, so when she saw the monarch, his body shuddered.
"Relax, Ember, she is no threat to you," Kent said, rubbing Ember's shoulder. He had the head of a lion and the body of a man with a red lion's tail.
"Take me to the location of the Soul Flame Tree."
Ember didn't immediately do anything. He first turned and looked at one of the Kings who came to Zeroth's rescue when Kent activated his bloodline.
His name is Rahven, a rather handsome fellow.
In his beast form, he is a three-headed hydra snake and also the strongest among the three kings.
Kent, who knew at this junction he wouldn't be getting anything from the Monarch, and her subordinates didn't even place Rahven in his eyes.
If any of them dare block him, he will just kill them.
"Take me there. If he dares block me, I will show no mercy and kill him." Perhaps knowing what he had gained, Ember nodded and transformed into his beast form, and Kent climbed on his back.
He gave the Monarch one last glance before motioning Ember to move. Soon, he was gone from the Venomous Gorges and headed to the Hydra Chasms.
Once he was gone, blood drooled from the corner of Sylvara's mouth. She cleaned it, and Niraya cast a healing spell on her.
"My Monarch, why did you let him leave after everything he has done?" Zeroth asked, his eyes cold. Although the other kings lost subordinates, Zeroth's loss was great.
It would take him years to recover, so he wanted Kent's head more than anything.
Sylvara looked at him, and while in the past she would have punished him for questioning her decision, she merely looked at him now and sighed.
"It was of no use. I could have used my trump card to kill him easily. However, that would set me back a thousand years, and I don't have a thousand years to wait in a High World."
"Does this have something to do with the Planet King?" Rahven asked.
Sylvara stared at him meaningfully and sighed, "Yes, Rahven. Everything I and the other monarchs have been doing for the past 54,000 years was because of that bastard.
He took everything from us, and the sad part is that no matter what we did, regardless of what we used, we could never beat him. He is too strong."
All three kings and Niraya sighed, hearing their monarch speak in a broken-hearted tone. Her words caused their hearts to bleed.
Niraya waved her hand, and the green ball of flame hovering before her moved toward Sylvara. "Take it, Monarch. If this flame can help you break the 30th Limit, then take mine."
"Me too," Rahven said, sending the green flame toward Sylvara.
Zeroth did the same thing, and Iskar also followed the same trend. The other beasts gave their flames to Sylvara, who was left dumbfounded.
"You guys..."
"Don't worry, Monarch. If you can break the limit, then take all our flames and use them. I am sure that with the 30th Limit broken, you can beat the Planet King."
Sylvara smiled, "If only it were that simple. The Planet King is unkillable simply because he is someone who has a strand of Immortal Aura in his body. Killing him is impossible"
"But how? How can he cultivate an Immortal Aura in a High World?" Niraya asked, and Sylvara sighed.
"It is because the Planet King has the bloodline of the Forsaken Race flowing through him..."
"What did you just say?" Kent appeared before Sylvara and asked, causing the pitiful monarch to jump back in fright.
