Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 78: 13th Scripture Of The Legends of the Unfettered One

Amon felt as though he was being pulled by a terrifying entity.

In the blink of an eye, he was suddenly atop the mountain.

He didn't know how, but he could tell that he was standing at its peak.

The moment he arrived, a gentle voice echoed directly into his mind.

"Welcome."

Amon followed the voice and was shocked to notice a back.

'That back!' Amon's eyes went wide as he gazed at the towering figure before him.

Flowing black hair was gently blown by the wind.

And that terrifying back seemed to shoulder the weight of the entire world.

There was a carefree smile on the man's face, and although Amon couldn't see it clearly, he somehow felt that…

This man was no longer a chess piece.

He was a chess player.

Staring at that back, ambition burned fiercely in Amon's heart.

He…

…wanted to have such an expression!

To look down upon the world without even a hint of emotion in his eyes.

He wanted a back like that, one strong enough to shoulder the responsibilities of his parents in both this life and the previous one.

He wanted the name Amon…

To resound throughout the nine heavens like a divine decree.

Amon's heart pounded like a war drum as that back silently disappeared from his line of sight.

Still, the image of it was deeply imprinted in his mind.

The true demeanor of an expert!

Amon continued staring blankly even after the figure vanished, leaving behind only drifting clouds.

CHUNK!

Hearing the sound of something falling, Amon widened his eyes and quickly walked forward.

On the ground lay a scroll.

Written upon it was the number '13'.

Unfurling the scroll, Amon's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as he read a line of familiar words.

'Legends of the Unfettered One.'

"This…" Amon was left speechless.

Back at Behemoth Academy, he had read the first scripture from Damien and had once doubted whether the Unfettered One truly existed.

Yet now…

He was holding the thirteenth scripture in his hands.

'If Damien saw this, would he go mad with excitement?'

Even now, Amon still found the time to lampoon the thought as a faint smile crept onto his lips before he began reading.

[Today, I entered this world and encountered gods who punish sinners for their sins.

Who is a sinner?

Everyone is a sinner.

Even the heavens themselves sin, yet they punish others for their mistakes.

The heavens are unfair. I am too, but I strive to make things right wherever I go.

Hence, the reason I killed all the gods here, drastically plummeting the rank of this star gate from one created by gods to one that anyone with the right sense of mind can survive.

Still, the gods here are unable to be fully killed.

Those plundered from countless worlds are mostly left here to die.

Perhaps one day, someone will come who can save them from such an untimely demise.

However, I've done all I feel like doing.

Towards the remaining… I'm a little bored.

The gods shouldn't come to life for a few thousand years. I'll try to check on them later in the future.

I really need to learn how to kill gods…

…then will I surpass the heavens?

What's higher than the heavens?]

'What? What? What????????'

Amon felt as though lightning and thunder had struck him simultaneously.

Staring at the scripture in his hands, he read through it once more, his heart beating violently.

'Unfettered One!' Amon whispered the name like a demonic curse.

Those hands he had seen before…

'They were parts of gods who are reviving after being slaughtered by the Unfettered One thousands of years ago.'

'Perhaps there is some form of restriction, which is why they can only kill "sinners" for now. Still, it doesn't change the fact that the gods are being resurrected.'

'Then the god's finger that pointed at me earlier…

Did it sense something different about me? Why was I summoned?'

Thought after thought surged through Amon's mind, his heart growing increasingly restless.

Since he cultivated primordial energy rather than divine energy, could the gods sense that difference?

Just staying here another second made cold sweat bead on his skin.

'If only I had strength like the Unfettered One…'

Bitterness crept into Amon's heart.

The Unfettered One slaughtered gods at will, yet he could only flee when faced with them.

'It's only because I was born too late.'

Amon knew that if they had lived in the same era, he would not have been inferior.

'…perhaps I might even be slightly stronger.'

Amon chuckled softly at the thought before turning his attention back to the scroll.

After finishing it, he set it aside, the image of that carefree back once more flashing through his mind.

Truly, everything written in this scripture…

If it came from the figure that back belonged to, then Amon found it highly believable.

Tightening his grip around the ring, Amon turned around, only to freeze in his tracks.

Not far away stood something resembling a frozen casket.

Amon walked toward it, shock clearly written across his face.

Why was there a casket in a place where the Unfettered One once stayed?

As he reached it, he understood the reason.

A lady…

Inside the casket lay a naked woman with a cold, expressionless face.

All color had drained from her skin, and it was clear she had been dead for a very long time.

'But why do I feel traces of life coming from her?'

The thought made Amon feel incredulous.

How long ago had the Unfettered One written the thirteenth scripture?

If he had to guess, it had likely been more than twenty thousand years.

That meant this woman had possibly been here for close to ten thousand years.

Amon's eyes widened in shock at the realization.

With trembling fingers, he placed his hand against the casket, lightly brushing its surface.

Immediately, a familiar jolt surged through him.

'This is… primordial energy!'

Amon felt his primordial core stir slightly upon contact.

Realization dawned instantly.

The reason the woman could remain in this near-death state was because the casket itself was formed from intersecting waves of primordial energy!

Alarm filled Amon's heart.

This was the first time he had ever seen such a concentrated cluster of primordial energy.

His eyes trembled as he stared at the transparent casket and the naked woman within.

Suddenly, something clicked, and his heart sank to rock bottom.

When he had entered the mountain, Aegon had stirred awake.

More importantly, it was as though the mountain itself had sensed the primordial energy within him.

'Does this mean the Unfettered One walked the path of primordial energy?'

As the first gifted one in existence, it seemed entirely plausible.

'…then did he create scriptures for divine energy cultivation so no one could ever reach his level?'

The thought made Amon's heartbeat grow erratic.

That didn't feel like something the Unfettered One would do.

…but humans were unpredictable.

Gripping his hair, Amon tugged at it lightly as a wave of splitting headache crashed over him.

'So many mysteries… so many things to piece together.'

'It's truly starting to pile up.'

'…damnation!'
