Chapter 220: Using Primordial Rush, Heading to the Fifth Zone
Sam moved through the quiet streets with steady steps, heading toward the main square of the kingdom.
The night was alive with faint lights from shops and towers, but he kept his focus forward, weaving through the occasional crowd without slowing down.
Just before he reached the bustling square, he turned into a narrow alleyway and stopped.
This was the perfect spot to test his newest ability without drawing too much attention.
His main goal tonight was simple.
He wanted to push his [Primordial Rush] to its limits and see exactly what it could do.
If the skill worked the way he imagined, he could clear the Fifth Zone and then teleport back to the kingdom with his [Realm Map] in an instant.
Once that was done, he could finally purchase a mansion and enjoy the luxury he had earned, if only for a brief moment.
Sam closed his eyes and let his breath slow.
He concentrated on the familiar flow of power inside his body.
When he opened his eyes again, they gleamed with a faint light.
Primordial Rush!
His body melted into the ground beneath him like liquid shadow, sinking until he became one with the surface.
The sensation was smooth and weightless.
The world above stretched out before his mind's eye, letting him see everything from below while remaining completely hidden.
From the perspective of anyone else, he had vanished.
Fwish!
Sam surged forward through the earth, moving at full speed toward the main street.
The wide road was crowded with awakeners of every race, but not a single one noticed his presence.
The only trace he left behind was a faint trail of dark energy, so thin that most people wouldn't even notice it.
He passed beneath angels with shimmering wings, demons wrapped in flame, dragons towering over the crowd, and elves with eyes like polished emeralds.
Even a few celestials stood near the market stalls, their radiant forms glowing like starlight.
None of them sensed him.
'Good,' Sam thought with a sharp grin. 'But I doubt this will work against the [Monarchs] or anything stronger.'
Even so, the skill's stealth was more than enough for now.
He sped across the stone pathways and emerged into the massive main square without breaking stride.
From beneath the ground he caught sight of Seraphine and Belle standing near a fountain, laughing softly together.
"Hm."
Sam didn't bother showing himself.
There was no reason to draw attention, and he had no need for a reunion.
Besides, they had no idea he was even there. Or so he believed.
Halfway across the square, he noticed Seraphine's head turn.
Her sharp eyes locked directly on his position.
Her pupils tracked his movement with eerie precision.
[Heroine plot armor =(]
'Damn.'
Seraphine tapped Belle's shoulder and discreetly pointed toward the empty space where Sam glided.
He stopped to test them, curious if they truly saw him.
Belle's brows lifted in surprise.
Her head tilted slightly, following his unseen path.
The two heroines exchanged a quiet glance, sharing a wordless conversation as if confirming what they sensed.
They made no scene.
Perhaps their time near Sam had taught them caution, especially when strange things happened around him.
They clearly didn't want to reveal him as the Primordial to anyone watching.
Seraphine focused on the faint trail of darkness he left behind, her eyes narrowing.
Ding!
A soft chime echoed in Sam's mind, and a familiar green panel appeared before him.
It was Seraphine's [Telepathy].
[Is it you? If it is, spin in circles!]
"..."
Sam stared at the message for a few seconds, unimpressed.
[Are we really going to listen to her?]
'Heh.'
He almost ignored it and continued on, but a mischievous thought stopped him.
Instead of leaving, he rushed toward the two girls and began circling them at high speed.
His invisible path cut quick loops around their feet.
'Holy shit, it's him,' Seraphine thought, her eyes widening in disbelief.
"Wow…" Belle whispered, her smile brightening as a sparkle lit her gaze.
After a few playful spins, Sam darted away from their side and aimed straight for the main gate.
Another soft chime appeared before him.
[See you later!]
Sam couldn't respond while using [Primordial Rush], but the message brought a faint smirk to his lips.
Still merged with the ground, he glided beyond the kingdom's borders, undetected by every passerby.
Even if someone stepped directly on the thin dark trail he left behind, it would mean nothing.
He remained untouchable and invisible, just as the skill promised.
Only those with special perception—like Seraphine and Belle—could glimpse his presence.
He suspected their heroine status gave them that advantage.
Regardless, it didn't matter.
Ding!
[You have left the "Forsaken" kingdom.]
'Good.'
His path led straight to the [Fifth Zone].
Whatever awaited him there, he was ready to face the [Fifth Mission].
Fwish! Fwish!
Sam raced forward, streaking through the earth with effortless speed.
He ignored every awakener and monster he passed.
None could see him.
His face remained calm and blank as his thoughts turned toward the challenges ahead.
'Four [Monarchs] remain. I'm sure they'll be waiting.'
There was no chance they would simply let him proceed after he had awakened them and killed one of their kind.
They would throw everything they had at him.
Still…
[They were the ones to attack us =). We're only hitting back… just much harder than they do.]
'Hm.'
The memory of Seraphine and Belle smiling at him lingered in his mind, filling his chest with a quiet determination.
Sam passed through the zones one by one.
In the Second Zone he glimpsed groups of awakeners gathered near the portal leading to the [Seventh Layer], some entering, others emerging with weary expressions.
In the Third Zone, crowds clustered around the towering [Tower of Fate], challengers attempting to clear their missions.
Farther on, he spotted a team ganging up on the last remaining [Astral Undead], their combined attacks flashing in the dim air.
The next zone swarmed with hundreds of awakeners surrounding the ancient altar where the orb to the [Maze of the Damned] rested.
Despite the danger, the world pulsed with life.
Races of every kind, angels, demons, elves, dragons, celestials, worked together or clashed.
It was chaotic, but fascinating.
Sam couldn't deny the strange energy of it all.
Eventually, he reached the [Fourth Barrier], the final wall of shimmering silver flame that guarded entry to the [Fifth Zone].
Almost no one in the [Upper Realm] had ever passed this point.
Few had cleared the [Maze of the Damned], and fewer still had the courage to face what lay beyond.
But Sam had already decided. The fifth mission was next.
Without hesitation, he slipped through the burning wall.
The silver flames parted like water as he entered the [Fifth Zone].
The moment he crossed the threshold, an immense wave of pressure exploded outward.
The air grew heavy, pressing down on his body with crushing weight.
[He has come.]
[Indeed he has.]
[Very… interesting.]
Three distinct voices echoed around him, appearing as glowing panels in the air.
Sam stepped out of [Primordial Rush], allowing his body to reform above ground.
There was no point in hiding now. His eyes scanned the landscape.
The Fifth Zone stretched before him like a dead world.
Gray grass spread across rolling hills, and a dim brown sky loomed overhead.
The atmosphere carried a strange heaviness, as if the land itself rejected intruders.
[You cannot leave now.]
[You killed the Pale one, didn't you?]
[You shall be judged for your sins.]
Each sentence came from a different panel, cold and sharp.
Sam felt no surprise.
He had expected the Monarchs to be waiting.
Escape was never an option.
[Once we kill them, they won't be able to do anything =)]
Sam nodded slightly at the inner voice.
Even with his confidence, he couldn't deny the pressure in the air.
This zone was different, heavier, more dangerous.
'Alright,' he thought, scanning the horizon. 'Where is the [Land of Judgment]? Or maybe the entire zone is part of it.'
It seemed unlikely.
Every mission so far had been contained within a specific sub-zone.
But the Fifth Mission might prove to be an exception.
He took a single step forward.
The land was empty, silent.
He was the only being within the Fifth Zone.
The entire mission rested on his shoulders alone.
But Sam had no intention of backing down.
He would destroy every obstacle in his path, no matter the cost.
As his foot met the gray grass, a sudden roar filled the air.
Fwish! BOOM!
[It seems like he doesn't know his place.]
[The "Pale" one was truly idiotic.]
[Let us get rid of this fool for the others.]
A massive object plummeted from the brown sky, slamming into the ground before Sam with earth-shaking force.
The impact kicked up a choking mist that swallowed the entire area.
Sam shielded his face as dust and ash whirled around him.
His instincts screamed a warning.
Attack was imminent.
Aura Radar!
Sam released a pulse of energy, sending his aura racing outward in a wide circle.
The invisible wave struck everything within hundreds of meters, mapping their presence in his mind.
Shapes emerged in the darkness.
Three distinct figures floated directly ahead, their outlines glowing faintly against the swirling mist.
'Oh shit.'
Sam reached into his [Spatial Inventory] and drew the [Primordial Sword], its edge humming with raw power.
His stance tightened as he braced himself for combat.
He had expected pressure, maybe taunts, but not an immediate assault.
For them to attack so boldly was unexpected.
Still, retreat was not an option.
His eyes narrowed into slits.
'Though… why the hell are there three of them?'
