"What on earth is going on? Kingdra, abandon the attack and retreat immediately!"

Seeing the Shiny Kingdra—after three Dragon Dance boosts—summon a water dragon with Waterfall, only for it to run aground in the muddy terrain, Clair's heart filled with suspicion. She instantly knew that Sato and Swampert were behind this, so she promptly ordered Kingdra to pull back.

Unfortunately, the Shiny Kingdra had already sunk too deep. In this thick, murky mud, it could hardly move an inch.

In the end, its assault turned into a joke. Swampert, who moved like a fish in water in the muddy terrain, easily dodged its attacks and, with minimal effort, swept it away with a heavy Iron Tail, sending it skidding a fair distance through the mud.

This muddy field was, of course, created under Sato's secret instructions. With its exceptional mastery over Ground-type energy, Swampert could easily fend off the Shiny Kingdra with Icy Wind while secretly using part of its focus to reshape the surrounding terrain.

In fact, the rain summoned by Shiny Kingdra had been a huge help—without the downpour, Swampert would have needed much more time to create such a vast stretch of mud.

"Finish it—use Icy Hammer."

Seeing his opponent fully trapped in the carefully woven snare, Sato smiled faintly and seized the opportunity to command Swampert to launch a fierce offensive.

Swampert immediately ducked under the mud, reappearing seconds later behind Shiny Kingdra, its right fist now encased in a massive icy gauntlet radiating terrifying Fighting- and Ice-type energy.

"Bounce, then use Dragon Pulse!"

But just as Swampert's sandbag-sized fist was about to smash into Kingdra's back, Clair's grim expression turned into a confident smile as she shouted the command.

A flash of sharp light appeared in Kingdra's eyes. Using its coiled tail, it slammed downward into the mud beneath it.

When its tail struck the steel plating hidden under the mud, Kingdra launched upward like a rocket, narrowly escaping Swampert's crushing blow.

Swampert, overcommitted and now missing its target, stumbled forward from the momentum, face-planting into the mud.

At that moment, Shiny Kingdra unleashed a surge of pure Dragon-type energy. A massive dragon-shaped wave burst from its mouth, crashing down onto the prone Swampert.

A thunderous BOOM! shook the battlefield, followed by another violent explosion.

This time, Clair's quick thinking and improvisation turned the tide, tipping the momentum in her favor.

"Impressive… but still nowhere near enough to take Swampert out of the fight."

Even as he praised her counterattack, Sato remained calm and unshaken, showing no concern over Swampert taking a direct hit.

The heavy rain soon washed away the explosion's smoke, revealing a massive crater where Swampert had been—yet the Pokémon itself was nowhere to be seen.

Clair and Kingdra's expressions tightened. Both knew that Swampert had not been taken out.

"Kingdra, get out of the mud, now!"

Clair knew the muddy field was Swampert's home turf, perfectly suited for a Water/Ground-type. If Swampert was staying hidden, she wasn't going to wait—she had Kingdra move toward the edge of the mud, intending to lure Swampert into revealing itself.

She also made a mental note: after this match, Kingdra would begin Earthquake training.

Sure enough, as soon as Kingdra started moving, faint tremors rippled through the mud around it.

"Behind you—use Hydro Pump!"

Clair kept her eyes locked on the surface ripples. When the water disturbance behind Kingdra grew more intense than anywhere else, she gave the order.

Trusting Clair completely, Kingdra didn't hesitate. It whipped around, unleashing a massive torrent of high-pressure water.

But instead of Swampert, a column of earthy-yellow energy—summoned by Swampert's Earth Power—shot upward from the mud.

Kingdra's Hydro Pump collided with the energy column, triggering a huge explosion that blasted Kingdra backward, slamming it heavily into the mud.

"Freeze the mud beneath it with Ice Beam. Don't let it escape this time."

The moment Sato heard Clair's command, his eyes narrowed. She had taken the bait. Using telepathy, he ordered Swampert to act.

Breaking through the surface, Swampert unleashed a beam of icy-blue energy straight at Kingdra's location.

Under the beam's chilling power, the muddy ground instantly hardened into frozen earth. The water-soaked Kingdra was quickly encased in a thick layer of ice from head to tail.

In seconds, Shiny Kingdra had become an ice sculpture, its lower body trapped in the frozen ground.

"End it—with Earth Ice Hammer!"

Seeing his prey immobilized, Sato's smile widened. He ordered Swampert to unleash its strongest combo technique.

"Swamp!"

With a roar, Swampert charged. A fearsome earthen gauntlet, rimed with frost and pulsing with raw energy, formed over its right arm.

Clair didn't know exactly what Earth Ice Hammer was, but she could tell it was devastating. If it landed, Kingdra would be finished.

"Don't lose! Kingdra, break free—use Aqua Dragon King!"

It was her most desperate command—Kingdra's strongest combination move, blending Waterfall and Outrage into a dual Water/Dragon-type attack. This was a technique passed down by her clan, not one she had invented herself.

Though frozen, Kingdra's consciousness remained sharp and its blood had not yet chilled. At her call, a surge of hidden strength erupted within it.

Crack-crack!

The ice and permafrost around Kingdra began to fracture. Just as Swampert's fist closed in, Kingdra broke free, surrounded by immense Water- and Dragon-type energies.

These forces merged into the form of a colossal dual-element energy dragon, roaring to life.

The two attacks met head-on—Swampert's giant fist against the energy dragon's head.

BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

Shockwaves exploded outward, the force so great that even the rain avoided the space between them.

Under the stunned gazes of the crowd—many of whom had long since regained consciousness—the giant fist proved stronger.

After two or three seconds of deadlock, it shattered the dragon's head and crashed into Kingdra's body.

A deafening THUD! shook the entire battlefield.

Kingdra's body became a streak of purple light, slamming deep into the already damaged arena wall. The thick steel plates behind it warped under the terrifying impact.

....

Hey guys, so I have a small announcement to make.

I'll now be Posting 8-9 Chapters a week, at least for a while. Don't worry, I'll still be posting regularly, just a little less than what I've doing.

Since the very beginning, I've tried my best to post 2 chapters a Day and at-least 14 chapters a Week, but I'm simply unable to do so currently. I'm busy with my Day-Job and I'm also starting to take on new work and projects, making time scarce for me. Still, I'll make sure to post more chapters whenever I can, like I've always done, and in the meantime, I'll make good on my word and regularly post 32 - 36 Chapters a Month, so there'll still be plenty for everyone to read.

That's all guys. Thank you for you continued support and understanding.
