Pokemon: The Legacy of Dragons

Chapter 114: Jealousy Brews Beneath the Smile

His mouth was still filled with the sweet scent of the girl—intoxicating, lingering, and maddening. It made him want to go back for another kiss, lip-to-lip, deeper than before.

Green's sudden boldness had left Logan completely stunned. Even his breathing had paused.

Although he had once done some rather inappropriate things to her body while she was unconscious… her proactive behavior now was still completely unexpected.

"Are you still in pain?"

A soft voice whispered gently in his ear like a lover's murmur. It was suffocatingly tender—heartbreaking even.

"Huh? Oh… it's fine. Probably just a large patch of bruises, maybe a bone or two broken. My organs took some pressure, but nothing serious."

Logan responded instinctively to the question, only realizing what he had just admitted after finishing his sentence. He looked up and saw Green bending slightly toward him with a gentle, amused smile. Her expressive eyes shimmered with soft ripples, and if you looked closely, you'd notice she had delicate dimples too.

Her voice had been so pleasant that Logan didn't even register who had asked at first.

Should he feel proud or just sad? He could now list his injuries in a casual tone and even estimate their severity just by feeling the pain. It was a skill forged through brutal outdoor training.

Luckily, human physiology in this world was slightly enhanced—far stronger than humans from Logan's original world. Otherwise, with injuries like these, he should've been on the ground awaiting emergency treatment. Yet here he was, still walking and talking—albeit in pain.

Right after the battle, Logan had applied some medical spray for immediate treatment. With a quick visit to a Pokémon Center, he'd be fully recovered within half a day. Honestly, if he didn't feel like going, he could just rely on potions and his body's own healing ability.

In this world, unless you died on the spot, nearly any injury could be healed.

"Phew… as long as you're okay. That battle just now scared me to death. But wow—you two were amazing! To think you beat Lt. Surge like that! That kiss earlier—just a little reward, okay? Don't get the wrong idea~"

Green chirped excitedly, as if she had been the one who won the fight. Her laughter sparkled in the air, and those bright eyes of hers were locked on Logan.

That kiss was not just a reward, Logan thought. That was a French kiss.

Green was born beautiful, and her compliments were like cotton candy to the ears. But Logan just gave an awkward chuckle. Beside him, Red subtly edged away, dragging Ivysaur with him. As much as he liked pretty girls, his sixth sense was screaming at him: danger.

The atmosphere had changed.

And not metaphorically—the actual air pressure had shifted. Red shot a cautious glance toward Caitlin. Since Green had shown up, Caitlin had gone completely silent. But the way the air swirled around her clearly hinted at something: her psychic powers were on the verge of erupting.

"Caitlin. Control your emotions. Your powers are spiraling again."

Logan barked sharply, instantly picking up on the disturbance.

"S-sorry! I'll be careful!"

Startled, Caitlin flinched like a scolded bunny, shrinking her neck reflexively. Logan had reprimanded her so many times over the past few days that she had practically been conditioned to obey.

Green found the whole thing amusing, watching Caitlin with interest.

But Caitlin quickly gathered herself, furrowing her brows as she asked casually:

"…Master Logan, who is she?"

Every cell in her body screamed danger. From Caitlin's perspective, Green was like a fairy of temptation. Even the way she spoke was soft and silky—not at all fake, but impossibly charming.

Those foxy, enchanting eyes—Caitlin swore they could talk. Even as a fellow woman, she felt like her soul was being pulled away.

"She's—"

"—Someone very close to him, of course~!"

Green immediately latched onto Logan's arm, swaying her body sweetly as she interrupted him.

"I mean, we are close… but—"

"But what? Don't tell me you forgot what you did to me while I was unconscious!"

Logan tried to explain, but Green cut him off, eyes flaring with mock anger.

He choked on his words, feeling a little guilty—because she wasn't wrong. He had gone too far back then. And she even saved his life afterward.

Caitlin's hands curled into tight fists. Her breath quickened. She was really struggling not to explode.

"Team Rocket's setup beneath the ship was terrifying. I thought if you beat Surge and got nothing for it, that'd be a waste. So I risked my life to sneak into his cabin and steal these badges for you. A 'thank you' would be nice!"

Green slowly turned to Red, smiling sweetly.

Red nodded like a bobblehead.

"Y-yes! Thank you, Miss Green! Really, thank you!"

"Don't thank her too much. She probably only went to investigate Team Rocket and stole the badges as a side job. I bet she took the ones she needed too."

Logan exposed her in one sentence.

"Hey now~ You can't say that! Stealing badges is hard work, okay? One wrong move and I could've died!"

Despite her protest, Green proudly flipped her hair. Hanging from her earrings were two gym badges: one from Pewter City and one from Cerulean. In her fingers, she casually twirled the Thunder Badge from Vermillion.

Red looked completely defeated. He had almost died earning that badge—and Green just picked it up.

Logan glanced at the badges and couldn't help but admire her. To steal from a Gym Leader was no small feat. And more impressively, she had sneaked into the lower decks of the Saint Anne, avoided Rocket detection entirely, and walked out unscathed.

"Master Logan, your injuries need proper care. We're near Johto now. I own a villa in that region—one of the best. You should stay there and recover. Let me take care of you."

Caitlin finally found her voice again. Green's sugar-coated words had pushed her into the shadows. She was desperate to reclaim her presence.

"It's just a few scratches. I don't want to waste time resting. That time's better spent training with my Pokémon."

Logan rejected her gently but firmly. He had no time to relax—he needed to become stronger for whatever future challenges awaited.

His tone was calm, like he was reassuring her that he wasn't rejecting her, just the idea of rest. It was thoughtful.

"How nice for the heiress of Sinnoh—owning luxury villas wherever she goes. Us humble trainers have to claw our way up to success."

Green's voice was playful, but her eyes glinted like blades.

Caitlin's face turned crimson—from rage.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Green, are you trying to start a class war?!

Logan didn't know how to react.

Sure, it sounded like Green was throwing shade at rich girls like Caitlin… but in truth, it was a jab at her worth as a trainer.

In the world of Pokémon, status wasn't about money—it was about strength. A socialite was nothing compared to a real Trainer. And Green was clearly implying that Caitlin had been useless in the earlier fight.

She hadn't said it out loud, but Caitlin felt the insult deeply.
