Chapter 126: Chapter 125: Trick Room in Action!

Chapter 125: Trick Room in Action!

The Hayashi family was renowned for their Dragon-type Pokémon.

While Dragonair hadn't yet appeared on the battlefield, it was clear that Gardevoir, with its Fairy typing, would pose a significant threat to any Dragon-type Pokémon, especially Dragonair.

Facing a Level 43 Slowking, a majestic Pokémon with a regal presence, was no easy task. The fact that the Hayashi family had the resources to help Sakura capture such a Pokémon was a testament to their power.

"This family really is on another level," Hikaru murmured.

"Extreme Speed!"

"Lucario!"

Against a slow Pokémon like Slowking, Lucario's well-honed Extreme Speed was a perfect counter.

However, the smirk on Sakura's lips made Hikaru uneasy.

As he glanced at Slowking's move set through Aura Vision, his apprehension deepened.

"Slowking, Trick Room!"

[Trick Room]: Creates a bizarre space where slower Pokémon move first.

A massive, shimmering barrier expanded outward, and the battlefield seemed to distort.

Lucario, once a blur of motion, now appeared sluggish and unable to react in time.

"Hehe, Slowking, Psychic!"

With Trick Room active, Lucario, known for its unparalleled speed, became a sitting duck, completely at Slowking's mercy.

By the time Trick Room dissipated, Lucario was already exhausted, struggling to maintain its stance.

"Aura and Evergreen Force are circulating," Hikaru observed.

"Can you activate [Kaioken] again?" he asked Lucario.

Lucario nodded determinedly, the familiar red energy surging around it once more.

"Alright, Lucario, use Close Combat!"

This was a last-ditch effort.

"Reflect!"

Sakura anticipated the attack, instructing Slowking to bolster its defenses.

Boom!

The collision was deafening.

Lucario's punches gradually weakened until it finally collapsed from exhaustion.

Meanwhile, Slowking, though injured, still stood tall, its serene expression unshaken.

"Slack Off!"

To make matters worse, Slowking began to heal itself, regaining some of its lost vitality.

However, this also meant Sakura missed the opportunity to switch Pokémon.

"Lucario is unable to battle! Hikaru, please send out your next Pokémon!"

The announcer's voice rang out.

"This girl… her tactics and Pokémon are truly formidable," Hikaru muttered, feeling as though he were facing a boss-level opponent.

"Go, Charizard!"

The moment Charizard took to the skies, a roar of excitement erupted from the crowd.

The memory of Charizard's previous battle was still fresh in everyone's minds, and its awe-inspiring strength had left a deep impression.

"Light Screen!"

Sakura didn't switch out Slowking for one simple reason—she anticipated Hikaru's next move would involve Charizard.

The purpose of keeping Slowking on the field was to use Light Screen and leverage its Water-type advantage to wear down Charizard.

Unfortunately for Sakura, the rain that had been falling earlier stopped, and the weather turned sunny again.

"Charizard, Overheat!"

The intense flames from Overheat collided with Slowking's Light Screen, causing ripples to spread across the battlefield.

"You're not going to counterattack? Charizard, Dragon Claw!"

"Barrier!"

Charizard dove with a fiery determination, claws gleaming with energy as it descended toward Slowking.

After a few exchanges, Hikaru realized what Sakura's plan was.

"She's trying to drain my Pokémon's stamina... too bad it's Charizard she's up against," he mused.

Charizard thrived in long battles, thanks to its exceptional stamina.

Ten minutes later, Slowking finally succumbed to its injuries.

"Slowking is unable to battle! Sakura, please send out your next Pokémon!"

"Your Charizard has remarkable endurance, Hikaru," Sakura remarked with a wry smile, observing the still-vibrant Charizard.

"Go, Inteleon!"

"Rain Dance!"

The familiar sound of raindrops began again, but this time, they had little effect on Charizard.

At Level 46, Inteleon was three levels higher than Charizard, making it a formidable opponent.

"Water Gun!"

Once again, Inteleon employed its signature strategy, but its incredible speed proved to be a significant challenge for Hikaru.

Greninja and Lucario were the only ones fast enough to keep up with Inteleon's movements, but both had already been knocked out.

Charizard, known for its bold and powerful attacks, struggled against Inteleon's agility.

However, Charizard wasn't without its own tricks.

"Charizard, Fire Rain!"

In a restricted arena, Fire Rain was the perfect move to counter Inteleon's strategy.

Charizard roared, launching a shower of fiery blossoms into the air. The flames mixed with the falling rain but didn't extinguish.

"Hmm... Inteleon, Camouflage!"

Standing atop a wooden platform, Inteleon suddenly vanished into thin air.

Camouflage?

Hikaru was momentarily taken aback. This ability reminded him of Latias.

However, Inteleon's invisibility was useless against Hikaru's Aura Vision.

Just as Hikaru prepared to locate Inteleon using Aura, it reappeared unexpectedly.

A baiting tactic?!

"Hydro Cannon!"

The calm lake surface erupted as towering columns of water shot into the air.

Charizard, surrounded by rising water spouts, found itself with no room to escape.

"Charizard, Flamethrower!"

Caught off guard, Hikaru had Charizard retaliate with Flamethrower.

Boom!

The flames and water collided, generating thick steam.

While Charizard's attack was rushed, the Hydro Cannon had more power, overwhelming the flames.

"Roar!"

Charizard roared in frustration, emerging from the water spouts with a flick of its fiery tail.

Spotting a suspicious movement below, Charizard unleashed a searing Flamethrower.

"Aura Vision is so handy," Sakura muttered, furrowing her brows.

Against most Pokémon, her Inteleon's Camouflage would be invincible in a water arena.

Yet, Hikaru's Charizard had completely nullified its advantage.

"Hydro Cannon!"

"Perfect timing, Charizard! Grab it and use Seismic Toss!"

The grin on Sakura's face tipped Hikaru off to her plan.

Inteleon charged forward, but Charizard was ready.

"Gotcha! Seismic Toss!"

The swift Inteleon was no match for Charizard's sheer strength.

The scene was almost comical as Charizard embraced Inteleon in a bear hug, taking off into the sky.

Spinning seven or eight times, Charizard hurled Inteleon toward the lake with tremendous force.

Inteleon hit the water with a resounding splash, fainting instantly.

"Inteleon is unable to battle! Sakura has lost three Pokémon! Changing arenas... the next arena is the Aerial Field!"
