Sakura's choice of Pokémon never failed to amaze.

"Rain Dance!"

Sakura's clear and crisp voice echoed across the arena.

Above, dark clouds began to gather, and soon a steady rain started to fall.

"Both Pokémon are Water-types, but Sakura has opted for Rain Dance at the outset?"

Hikaru was momentarily puzzled but quickly issued a command.

"Greninja, use Water Pulse!"

"Dodge."

With a light and casual tone, Sakura gave her order, but it made Hikaru's eyes widen.

In his view, Inteleon almost instantly sidestepped the incoming Water Pulse.

So fast!

If not for his Aura abilities, Hikaru might not have been able to track its movements.

In a flash, Inteleon had leaped to a wooden platform several meters away.

At the same time, Hikaru noticed Greninja's mood suddenly plummeting.

Tears welled up in its eyes.

It was crying?!

Hikaru wiped the rain off his face, detecting a faintly irritating sensation.

The rain… it's mixed with tear gas?!

"Hehe, Inteleon, Water Gun!"

Seeing Hikaru realize something was off with the rain, Sakura's lips curved into a playful smile.

On the battlefield, Inteleon assumed a sniper-like stance, launching a relentless barrage of Water Guns at Greninja.

There was nothing flashy—just a simple Water Gun.

Yet, the sheer volume of the attacks made it seem like there was no cooldown at all.

"No wonder she used Rain Dance!"

Watching Greninja scramble around the field, struggling to dodge the endless Water Guns, Hikaru couldn't help but admire the strategy.

This was the first time his Greninja, usually the one kiting opponents, found itself being kited.

Still weighed down by the Gravity Ball, Greninja couldn't keep up with Inteleon's astonishing speed, even with its Water-type boosting traits.

"Greninja!"

It was frustrating—too frustrating!

Greninja, always the one to dominate battles, was now being toyed with.

In the first round, Hikaru had no choice but to release Greninja from the Gravity Ball's effects.

"Greninja..."

Freed from its constraints, Greninja finally felt some relief.

"Quick Attack, then use Water Shuriken!"

"Tank it and use U-turn!"

Sakura remained calm despite Greninja's sudden burst of speed.

U-turn?

Hikaru was momentarily taken aback.

To his surprise, Inteleon didn't attempt to dodge.

The massive Water Shuriken collided heavily with Inteleon, sending up a great splash of water.

The next moment, the injured Inteleon returned to its Poké Ball.

"Go, Vikavolt! Thunderbolt!"

Out came a new Pokémon, a gleaming Vikavolt.

Electric energy crackled in the air as a powerful Thunderbolt shot toward Greninja, which was still midair.

A Level 44 Vikavolt!

Greninja, still a pure Water-type, was a prime target.

With Vikavolt's 145 base Special Attack, the damage dealt was significant.

"Greninja!"

Electric currents flickered across Greninja's body, leaving it paralyzed.

"Vikavolt, use Thunderbolt again!"

"Can you move, Greninja? Use Double Team!"

"Greninja!"

Despite the paralysis, Greninja mustered enough strength to create multiple shadow clones, buying itself some time.

"Greninja, use Volt Tackle!"

At this point, Hikaru knew Sakura wasn't holding back at all.

Electricity surged through Greninja as the Volt Tackle charged toward Vikavolt.

The initial Thunderbolt broke through Greninja's clones, but the effort gave Greninja just enough time to land its attack.

Crackling energy collided with Vikavolt as both Pokémon took damage from their respective moves.

As the sparks faded, Vikavolt fainted.

But Greninja, weakened by its own recoil and paralyzed state, also fell.

The referee announced, "Greninja has been defeated! This is the first time Hikaru's Pokémon has fallen in battle!"

"What an incredible turn of events! Sakura set up a brilliant strategy from the start with Rain Dance, turning the tide with each step. Her use of U-turn and Vikavolt to counter Greninja was a masterstroke!"

"Even though Hikaru's Greninja displayed hidden power, it was still within Sakura's calculations. This match has had so many twists and turns!"

"However, both Vikavolt and Inteleon have sustained injuries. Let's see which Pokémon Hikaru will send out next!"

"This match is exhilarating! It's hard to believe these are high school students battling at this level!"

The rain continued to fall.

Hikaru scratched his nose. "Go, Gardevoir."

From a strategic perspective, Charizard would have been a better choice to counter Vikavolt's Bug typing.

But it was clear that Sakura could easily switch her Pokémon again.

"Gardevoir, huh..."

Sakura smiled, pulling out another Poké Ball.

"Go, Metang!"

Hikaru sighed.

Of course, it's Metang...

The sleek, metallic Pokémon floated onto the battlefield. Hikaru was relieved to see it was only a Level 41 Metang and not yet a Metagross.

The rain dripped off Gardevoir's pristine gown.

"Use Hypnosis!"

It wouldn't hurt to try.

A fan of pink energy waves spread out toward Metang. The latter shook its head slightly, shrugging off the effect.

Naturally, its strong psychic resistance made Hypnosis less effective.

"Zen Headbutt."

Metang's Light Metal ability increased its speed, allowing it to charge at an incredible pace.

"Teleport!"

Gardevoir teleported high into the air, avoiding the attack.

"Sorry, Sakura. Mystical Fire!"

Although Gardevoir's Psychic and Fairy moves would be resisted by Metang, its Mystical Fire was a direct counter.

As flames rained down, Sakura was visibly caught off guard.

This move wasn't in her calculations.

"Flash Cannon!"

The brilliant fire clashed with the radiant cannon shot from Metang.

In the end, Gardevoir's higher level gave it the edge, and Mystical Fire struck Metang squarely, rendering it unconscious.

"Metang has fainted!"

"I lost this one..."

Sakura pouted, gazing at the graceful Gardevoir hovering in the air.

"Your turn, Slowking!"

"You're trying to counter my Gardevoir with pure Psychic battles? I won't let you!"

This time, Hikaru immediately saw through her intentions.

"Come back, Gardevoir. Go, Lucario!"
