The momentum of Bulbasaur's attacks was fierce, like a raging storm, tilting the balance of the battle in Ash's favour.
However, the confident expressions of Jeanette's cheerleaders revealed she still had one last card up her sleeve.
Sure enough, despite losing two rounds, Jeanette remained composed. After recalling her Scyther, she calmly reached for her third Poké Ball.
The crowd, including the host, audience, Brock, and Misty, anticipated Jeanette's final Pokémon would be an ace a powerful and intimidating contender.
But when the Poké Ball opened, the arena was stunned: Jeanette had sent out a Bellsprout!
The audience erupted into a cacophony of disbelief.
To many, Bellsprout was thin and fragile, a Pokémon widely perceived as weak. No one expected such a choice after three intense rounds of battling.
Ash, too, was taken aback, a smirk of overconfidence crossing his face. He was certain victory was within his grasp.
But as the battle began, the seemingly unimposing Bellsprout shattered all expectations.
Bulbasaur charged forward with a powerful Tackle, but Bellsprout used its remarkable flexibility and strength to flip Bulbasaur over its shoulder, tossing it a great distance.
While the move didn't cause significant damage, it left the crowd in awe.
The host exclaimed, "Amazing! Who could've guessed this Bellsprout is not only surprisingly strong but also skilled in techniques that use an opponent's momentum against them!"
Dazed but determined, Bulbasaur got back on its feet and rushed forward again. This time, Bellsprout grabbed Bulbasaur's front legs and spun it around like a windmill before launching it across the arena once more.
The audience erupted in cheers, particularly Jeanette's supporters, who were thrilled by the unexpected turn of events. Even Jeanette couldn't hide her satisfaction, laughing triumphantly.
Kai, observing from the sidelines, frowned slightly.
The battle raged on. Bellsprout continued to dominate, tossing Bulbasaur around like a rag doll.
Finally, it hurled Bulbasaur out of bounds, landing the Grass Pokémon near Ash's feet.
The referee raised his flag, declaring the match in Bellsprout's favour.
Ash, refusing to accept the loss, sent out his trusted partner Pikachu.
Pikachu immediately unleashed Thunderbolt, lighting up half the arena. However, Bellsprout's agility allowed it to evade the attacks effortlessly.
Even when struck, Bellsprout's roots dug into the ground, dispersing the electricity.
Kai leaned toward Misty. "Grass-types like Bellsprout resist Electric moves. Pikachu's unstable performance doesn't help either it has a high potential but often struggles with consistency. Losing here isn't surprising."
Faced with limited options, Ash commanded Pikachu to engage in close combat.
Yet Bellsprout, trained meticulously by Jeanette, countered with exceptional physical prowess. After a few swift exchanges, Bellsprout landed a powerful kick, knocking Pikachu out cold.
Misty gasped. "Even Pikachu lost?!"
Ash, showing resilience, sent out his last Pokémon a Muk.
The audience groaned at the sight of Muk, another seemingly unimpressive choice. But as the battle unfolded, Muk's unique properties turned the tide.
Bellsprout's kicks and punches were ineffective against Muk's gelatinous body, which absorbed every blow like a sponge.
Jeanette's Bellsprout, visibly exhausted, broke into a cold sweat. Nothing it did seemed to faze Muk.
Finally, Ash ordered Muk to use Body Slam. Muk enveloped Bellsprout in its toxic mass, squeezing it until it could no longer continue. The referee declared Ash the winner.
Kai sighed in relief. "Ash got lucky this time. Muk's resilience against physical attacks was the perfect counter to Bellsprout."
As the battle ended, Ash beamed with joy, especially when he spotted his mother, Delia, and Professor Oak in the audience. Delia, eager to celebrate, offered to cook Ash's favourite meal.
Kai, feeling out of place among Ash's family, declined their invitation and quietly left.
