Chapter 55: Chapter 55 - A Breakfast Before Trekking through the Mountains
The next morning, at 6:18 a.m., Rico, Jonathan, and their Pokémon woke up, packed up their belongings, and continued their way to Galen City. They didn't eat any breakfast because Jonathan knew a restaurant somewhere on the way to the Enrique Mountains. Rico agreed with him, so as his Pokémon team.
Later, at 7:12 a.m., they arrived at that restaurant, called Ann's Travel Restaurant, which is a wooden and concrete, one-storey building with an adjacent house nearby. It was a seemingly normal restaurant, but it was popular among tourists and travelers as a one-stop place to grab a quick bite before trekking through the mountains.
That restaurant serves hot dishes in just less than 15 minutes, and includes breakfast food and pastries like cereal, fried rice with vegetables, and baguette. So much so, a small community and a small farm was built around it to supply its needs.
Upon entering the restaurant, Rico was amazed by its local and native look of its interior. There are bamboo-made chairs and tables and painted countertops made of concreted. There are also hand-painted canvass pictures on the walls, and must had been made by the family who owned the restaurant. For the finishing touches, there are lights and ceiling fans on the ceiling.
The place was a bit busy, but not too busy. Rico and his group then walked up to the counter, and one of the cashiers gave them a greeting, "Hello, welcome to Ann's Travel Restaurant. How can I take your order?"
Looking at the menu while thinking, Jonathan replied back, "Hi, I would like two plates of cheese toasts with two small plates of strawberry muffins and two cups of coffee with milk and sugar, please."
Taking Jonathan's order, the cashier asked Rico, "Okay, how about you, kid?"
"My big brother made the order for the both of us, thank you," Rico objected in response.
"Okay then, that'll be 140 Poké Dollars," the cashier responded back while calculating the total price of their order.
In response to that, Jonathan get his wallet from his backpack, get some money, and gave it to the cashier.
Receiving the money, the cashier put it into the cash register, gave them a number that indicated their order, and said to them, "Here's your number. Please wait for your order."
Receiving the number engraved on a piece of wood, Jonathan replied nicely, "Thank you so much."
He and his team then left the counter and went to a table for four and settled down, putting their backpacks on the other two, unoccupied chairs. A minute later, Rico prepared the food bowls for their Pokémon, and filled them with Pokémon food.
Then, 10 minutes later, while Rico's and Jonathan's Pokémon are eating their special food, a waitress came to their table with a tray full of their meal, a hot and crispy one. She then arranged the plates, utensils, and their meal. After that, she told the duo to enjoy their meal before hurriedly leaving their table.
After that, Rico and Jonathan grabbed the cheese toasts and took a bite of it.
"Wow, this is so delicious," Rico commented to Jonathan about the cheese toast.
"Yeah, I used to come here," Jonathan responded back positively as he munches on the strawberry muffins. "They used whole wheat bread instead of regular bread. That's why it's good."
"Wow, thanks, big brother."
They continued eating and drinking until 8:02 a.m. At that time, Rico picked up the now empty food bowls and stored them in his and Jonathan's backpacks, and he and his group left the restaurant and continued their trek towards Galen City through the Enrique Mountains.
