Chapter 39: Chapter 39 - Together
Later at noon, Rico sat down on the grass off the road to eat a quick lunch. He then called all of his Pokémon out of their Poké Balls so they could eat lunch with their Trainer. After that, Rico get some food bowls and Pokémon food from his backpack and placed the bowls on the soft, green grass, before pouring the food in them in regular amounts.
"Well, enjoy," Rico told them. His Pokémon team then obeyed him, and eat up with delight.
With that, Rico sat on the grass and eat up his simple lunch, which consisted of a cheese and butter sandwich, three cookies, and a water bottle. The atmosphere around them was very peaceful and good. Dasma Town was just 8 kilometers away from their location.
By 12:34 p.m., Rico put his water bottle, lunch box, and the food bowls back in his backpack, and called most of his Pokémon back to their Poké Balls. Riolu then hopped on Rico's left shoulder, and they all continued their journey.
Later, by 1:45 p.m., they all arrived at Dasma Town, just in time for the high-speed train to arrive. But, they will not ride a train because they preferred walking by foot, mimicking Ash's way of going on a journey. There they rest up at the town plaza for an hour under the sun. They were exhausted, but not that exhausted at all. To pass the time, Rico wrote in his journal about that morning and how he had made the decision to go on a journey all by himself. But, he concluded that he wanted to copy Ash's journey because he was inspired to do so. Later by 2:46 p.m., he put his journal and pen back into his backpack, stand up, and he and Riolu continued their journey towards their next stop, Muñoz Town.
By 6:08 p.m., they had arrived at Muñoz Town, and they decided to stay at Wesley's house for the night. So, they went across the colorful food fair at the plaza and into the streets towards Lisa's bakery and cafe, where Wesley's house was at the second floor. Upon arriving there, Lisa's bakery and cafe was still open and its lights was still turned on. Lisa was arranging her freshly-baked pastries and Rico let out a greeting, "Hi there, Aunt Lisa."
Upon hearing that, Lisa looked at the front of her bakery and saw Rico and Riolu standing on the cobblestone street.
"Oh, hi there, Rico," she responded to this positively. "What brings you here in this town?"
"I am in a journey," Rico answered back. "I'm on my way to Kidlat City so I was thinking about staying at Wesley's place for the night instead of staying at an inn or a hotel."
"Wow, that was really nice, Rico," Lisa delightfully responded back. "By the way, Wesley was upstairs eating dinner."
"Thanks, aunt. That'll be great."
Riolu then responded in positivity.
Rico and Riolu then went in and went upstairs as Lisa continued rearranging her pastries.
Meanwhile, at the second floor of the three-floored building, Wesley was eating his dinner when Rico and Riolu came in and greeted good evening.
Upon noticing that, Wesley and Chimchar are surprised at first, but then are delighted.
"Hey, Rico, how are you?" Wesley asked him.
Taking off his shoes, Rico and Riolu walked up to the dining room and get a plate, utensils, and a food bowl. Rico then answered him back, "I'm fine, Wesley. I just finished school and I am now in a Pokémon journey." Riolu then responded to Chimchar in greeting, before sitting next to it. Chimchar then responded back in greeting as well.
"Woah, what?" Wesley responded back in stunning-surprise. "A Pokémon journey? I wished I would go on one."
"Well, if you want to, come with me," Rico gave an offer to Wesley.
"No thanks, I'll rather go alone instead."
"Oh, I see then."
Rico then get his bag of Pokémon food and poured into Riolu's food bowl. Riolu then eat up.
"Wow, your Riolu seems to be delighted by it," Wesley commented positively. "By the way, how's Litleo?"
"Oh, Litleo's fine," Rico replied back while getting some food from the big plates, "and I had other Pokémon like Absol and-"
"What? An Absol?" Wesley asked in shock and surprise. "I thought only salamangkeros can have those Pokémon."
Rico then smiled. "Even ordinary Trainers can have one as well." He then grabbed his spoon and fork and eat up.
"I see," Wesley replied back as he calms down.
Later at 8:39 p.m., Rico, Wesley, and their Pokémon are at Wesley's bedroom laying down on bed, except that Rico and his Pokémon are on a mattress instead. Luckily, the room was more than big enough to hold all of Rico's Pokémon.
"Man, Rico, I'm quite jealous of you," Wesley commented to Rico about the number of Rico's Pokémon."
"It's alright, someday, you will have six or more Pokémon," Rico said to him.
"Thanks, Rico."
This follows with a short silence.
"So, you're leaving tomorrow?" Wesley asked breaking the silence.
"Yes, tomorrow morning, why?" Rico responded back positively.
"What are you going to do in a journey?"
"To acquire gym badges and try to take on the Philas League, remember?"
"Oh, right, right. Sorry about that."
The next morning, at 6:09 a.m., after a light breakfast, Rico wavered goodbye to Wesley and Lisa while saying thank you to them for letting him and his team stay at their place.
"You're welcome, Rico," Lisa responded back while bowing for a few seconds. "You are always welcome to our home."
"Good luck in your journey!" Wesley exclaimed to Rico.
"Thank you for everything," Rico replied back. He then turned around and started to walk away towards the northeast side of town and towards Kidlat City.
