Pokemon: I am Gary

"Ursaring, use Hammer Arm!" Raven commanded domineeringly in the arena.

Ursaring raised its sturdy arms and slammed down hard towards Squirtle.

"Squirtle, use Skull Bash!" Gary stood his ground, ready for a direct clash!

"Using your head to take a Hammer Arm?"

"Gary has really lost his mind this time~"

"Watch out, Squirtle!"

The audience shouted anxiously; Squirtle patted its little head. Is that all?

Not even a roar of encouragement—this level of intensity is nothing compared to when Charizard gets drunk!

Taking a half-step back to charge up, Squirtle pushed off the ground with all its might!

Boom! The rocket launched! Squirtle tucked in its limbs and propelled itself forward, surrounded by blazing flames like an arrow, directly aiming at Ursaring's right arm.

Boom!! The two collided head-on, creating a shockwave!

"Wow~" Ursaring let out a painful cry, covering its arm and stepping back two paces.

Looking at Squirtle, it rolled twice on the ground before performing a quick recovery and standing up.

"It's a tie! In this battle of strength with such a size difference, it's actually even!" the commentator shouted excitedly.

"Squirtle—such power?"

"The little guy didn't even get scratched; he's so tough!"

The audience couldn't help but be astonished!

Raven looked at Squirtle appreciatively. "Great strength, but it's not over yet! Ursaring, use Hyper Beam!"

As a fierce Pokémon, shooting Hyper Beams is Ursaring's specialty.

However, since you're charging up, I won't hold back!

"Squirtle, use Aura Sphere!" Gary suddenly countered!

Raven was left dumbfounded. Aura Sphere? Is he bluffing?

"Squirtle~ Kamehameha~" Squirtle struck a classic pose, hands coming together behind it to charge up.

Buzz~ A dazzling blue wave gathered in its palms, gradually forming a high-frequency vibrating sphere.

Boom! With both hands thrust forward, a powerful cyclone erupted as the energy ball slammed into Ursaring's belly!

The energy exploded! Like a laser cannon's trail, the beam carved through the ground, uprooting grass as it passed.

Ursaring was sent flying out of bounds, crashing against the wall and embedding itself into it. The charged Hyper Beam shot into the air like fireworks!

"Gulp~" Raven swallowed hard, still trying to comprehend what just happened.

"Squirtle~" Squirtle knelt on one knee in exhaustion but managed to uphold its reputation!

"Aura Sphere Squirtle? This kid Gary really has some luck," Professor Oak said with a satisfied smile from the audience.

Raven's expression grew serious; he knew Gary would be strong but didn't expect him to be this outrageous!

"It seems this battle will be quite thrilling," Raven said with a satisfied grin. "Go on! My third Pokémon! Tyranitar!"

Roar!! The Desert Tyrant storms onto the field amidst swirling sand!

"Return and rest for now, Squirtle." Gary recalled Squirtle and thought for a moment before pulling out another Poké Ball. "For Rock and Ground types, you should be able to handle this—Nidoqueen, it's your turn!"

Even though he had won two matches in a row, they had all taken quite an effort; caution was still necessary!

The surrounding sandstorm intensified; it was clear that Raven had the Sand Stream ability.

"You brought out a Ground-type to avoid damage from the sandstorm," Raven remarked with an approving click of his tongue. "Tyranitar, use Hyper Beam!"

"Use Earthquake!" Gary countered suddenly.

Raising his right hand, Nidoqueen slammed down onto the ground as shockwaves radiated outward.

Tyranitar's expression changed as it stepped back two paces.

"That's some impressive defense!" Gary frowned; after all, Tyranitar is quite sturdy. Even with double damage from Earthquake, it didn't flinch!

"No worries! Keep attacking!" Although interrupted during charging up, Raven wasn't anxious. Seizing the opportunity, he charged up for another Hyper Beam.

Boom! An orange laser cannon suddenly fired off with waves of energy swirling around it—its power unmatched!

"Hold your ground!" Gary immediately shifted to defense!

Boom! A massive cloud of dust erupted as Nidoqueen pressed forward with its protective shield!

"It can do that?!" Raven exclaimed wide-eyed before clenching his fists. "We won't shy away from close combat! Tyranitar, use Focus Punch!"

Tyranitar raised its right hand as white energy gathered before charging forward to deliver a powerful punch at Nidoqueen.

Smack! The anticipated knockout scene didn't occur; Nidoqueen simply blocked the attack with its left hand. Even getting hit on the shoulder didn't cause it to budge!

Immediately afterward, Nidoqueen raised its right hand with bulging muscles!

"Use Superpower!" Gary commanded!

Smack! With a windup of its arm, Nidoqueen delivered a massive slap!

Tyranitar was sent staggering backward several steps, nearly losing its footing.

A slap! Nidoqueen actually used Superpower!

"Tsk tsk~ My wife has never slapped me like that," the commentator suddenly muttered under his breath.

"Tyranitar! Create some distance and use Hydro Pump!" Raven accurately assessed the situation and seized the chance to create distance for an attack.

Although Tyranitar's attack power isn't as high as Nidoqueen's, Nidoqueen's endurance and defense are not something Tyranitar can compare with.

Boom! Nidoqueen was caught off guard and hit directly by Hydro Pump, sliding across the ground and leaving a deep trench as it retreated to the edge of the arena.

"Finish it off with Ice Fang!" Raven launched another fierce attack.

Tyranitar opened its mouth wide and lunged toward Nidoqueen.

In mid-air appeared an ice-blue terrifying giant fang formed from Ice-type energy that viciously tore through space as it came in for the strike.

"Nidoqueen! Use Counter!" Gary frowned; Raven's relentless assault was proving somewhat tricky.

"Aow!" Nidoqueen roared angrily as its body glowed bright red before charging directly at Tyranitar!

Crack! Ice Fang clamped down hard as Nidoqueen let out a cry of pain before unleashing both fists in rapid succession toward Tyranitar's eyes!

Bang! Tyranitar was sent flying backward!

Boom! Simultaneously, Nidoqueen collapsed onto the ground unconscious.

With his second ace down like this, Raven felt somewhat rattled. "I can't believe you have Counter too; I was careless!"

"Both sides have lost their fighting capabilities because Raven has already lost three Pokémon—entering halftime!"

After announcing the results, the referee turned around to sip tea at his judging table while Gary recalled Nidoqueen and headed back to the resting room.

With a score of 3-1 in favor of Gary entering halftime!

Back in the resting room, Gary first used Viridian Power on Nidoqueen to heal its injuries and restore some stamina.

"Mmm~" Nidoqueen sat on the floor with its head lowered in self-reproach.

It had lost one match while both Squirtle and Scizor had swept through their opponents effortlessly.

"It's okay; your opponent was likely their ace or at least their second ace. Being able to tie is already impressive; keep up the good work," Gary said with a smile as he patted Nidoqueen's head.

Nidoqueen nodded gratefully; it decided that once they returned home, it would train against Nidoking three times daily to quickly level up!

Meanwhile at Professor Oak's lab, Nidoking felt a chill run down its spine while watching TV and curiously scratched its head. Where did that cold wind come from...?
