Pokemon: I am Gary

Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Everyone Deserves to Live in the Sunshine

Gary squats in the audience, beside him is Golduck holding up a shield.

"Wow, Mew has such a mocking face. I want to hit it, not to mention Mewtwo…" Golduck whispers.

"Why don't you go ahead?" Gary raises an eyebrow at Golduck.

"Wait until I reach max level; then you'll see if I go or not. For now, I need to play it safe," Golduck rolls its eyes.

"Is running all you can do?" Unable to hit Mew, Golduck taunts Mewtwo. "Or are you afraid of me? After all, I'm the strongest. If you're scared, just call me 'dad,' and I'll let you go!"

"Mew?!" Mew stops, its small body radiating undeniable authority.

"I am who I am; you are merely my genetic offspring and can never be stronger than me. If you don't believe it, let's clash our domains!" Mew has its pride; it is the ancestor and a Pokémon born from the earth, not created by Arceus.

Aside from Arceus, Mew fears no one.

With blue light flashing in its eyes, Mewtwo's blue-purple domain unfolds. "Even in terms of strength compared to my original form, I am stronger. My existence must surpass yours!"

Mew opens its pink domain, refusing to back down.

The two shining domains clash violently, neither giving way.

Not only that, but Mewtwo and Mew also teleport their clone army and original Pokémon onto the battlefield.

The war to prove existence begins!

The two waves of Pokémon armies collide, fighting fiercely without any tactics—just punches and kicks exchanged with neither side yielding.

It's as if taking a step back would mean losing the meaning of their existence!

At the entrance, Joy and the three trainers show worried expressions; these genuine Pokémon are their companions.

Gary stares blankly at the battle, suddenly feeling very sad.

Whether clones or originals, aren't they all living Pokémon?

What's there to win or lose?!

"It's so tragic…" Watching Mewtwo and Mew still fighting hard, Gary gets angry. Why should you divine beasts fight to the death while dragging ordinary Pokémon into this? They just want to live peacefully…

Golduck, with a complicated expression, looks at Gary. "Bro, I advise you to calm down; this is beyond your control."

Seeing both sides gradually weakening, Gary sighs. "Sigh~ You're right. But… If this doesn't stop, how can I become the world's strongest champion?! I wouldn't even qualify as a trainer!"

"Stop fighting already~" Miss Joy, with tears in her eyes, is the one who cares most about the Pokémon!

Boom!! Mewtwo and Mew crash from the sky to the ground, their divine powers boiling as they are surrounded by flames of light.

Gary struggles to stand up. "Golduck, if you're decent enough, help me out!"

Golduck's expression is complicated as it raises its right hand; blue psychic energy surges. "Guba! Whatever happens next is on you!!"

With a whoosh, Gary's body flies up directly between the confronting Mewtwo and Mew.

"You two, stop it right now!!"

Boom! A strike filled with both sides' anger shoots toward the center. The divine powers of both gods are overwhelming!

"Friend!" Mewtwo suddenly exclaims in shock and retracts eighty percent of its power instantly.

"Guba!" If I die, then so be it! Golduck's body suddenly lunges forward.

At the same time, Poké Balls open with flashes of white light!

Eevee, Charizard, Electivire, Rhydon, Scizor, Arcanine, Braviary, Golduck!

Gary's Pokémon stand firmly on either side of him.

"Eevee!" Eevee's fur bristles with energy as a seven-colored halo flickers. Whoever attacks him will be attacked back!

"Roar!!" The other Pokémon respond one after another; their corresponding energy erupts without reservation. Even if there is a disparity in power, anyone who wants to harm my trainer must be prepared to fight for their lives!

Gary's heart races. "No… don't!"

Buzz! A green light suddenly shines at Gary's chest; the crystal there absorbs all surrounding energy.

Snap! In the next second, a pink energy shield identical to Mew's domain suddenly unfolds!

Boom!! The combined forces directly strike this energy shield. Mewtwo's power is retracted in advance; thus his divine power merely flashes by. On the other side, Mew's divine power disappears without a trace like a drop in the ocean.

Snap! The shield shatters as Gary holds his Pokémon close and stands frozen in place. "I… am okay?"

"Mew~" Mew circles around Gary twice and looks at the necklace on his chest with a long-lost happy smile.

"Mew~" (So you are Celebi's friend!) Mew happily rubs against Gary's necklace.

"Celebi?" Gary realizes that it was his grandfather all along~

"Friend, are you alright~" Mewtwo floats over too.

"I'm fine." Gary waves his hand and embraces his Pokémon emotionally.

"But you two should open your eyes and see those Pokémon." Gary points toward the square.

The injured Pokémon lie together, some licking each other's wounds.

"They are all lives on this planet; every Pokémon deserves to be cherished…" Gary sighs boldly pats Mewtwo's shoulder. "Rather than fighting for meaning of existence with divine powers, wouldn't it be more meaningful to use your strength to protect these lives?"

Mew and Mewtwo exchange glances and nod slightly.

Mew smiles apologetically at Joy and the trainers at the entrance before waving its small hand.

The genuine Pokémon and several people vanish one after another.

"I sent them back to the port," Mew says with a smile.

"Then leave the rest to me." Mewtwo nods. "It's because of me that they came into this world; I will find a pure land to live alongside them."

At that moment, Mew becomes lively again. "How about going to the World Tree?"

Mewtwo turns away proudly. "No need for that; I will create my own World Tree."

Mew sways left and right. "Then~ let me hear you call me 'dad'?"

Mewtwo twitches his mouth. "Get lost! You act like you won!"

"Mew~" Mew covers its mouth and giggles twice before patting Gary's necklace on his chest.

The originally cracked necklace returns to its pristine state once again.

"Mew~ When I have time, I will come find you to play." Mew smiles.

"You're always welcome; let's play cards next time," Gary replies with a smile. "Or wait until mobile games are developed so we can team up."

"Mew~!" Mew's eyes light up as it happily nods before turning around and vanishing in an instant using teleportation before Mewtwo and Gary's eyes.

"Friend~ Thank you for coming. You saved me from making a grave mistake." Mewtwo raises his hand as a purple aura merges into Gary's forehead.

Gary instantly feels refreshed as his thoughts become clearer and sharper.

A purple-golden vertical stripe appears on Gary's brow.

"That is my psychic power; if you ever need help, just call for me anytime. I will come to your side from any corner of this world," Mewtwo says seriously.

"That looks pretty cool~" Taking out his phone to check out his forehead, Gary smiles with satisfaction.

"Hahaha, friend, we'll meet again if fate allows~" Nodding at Gary, Mewtwo's psychic power lifts all cloned Pokémon into the sky as they disappear into the horizon.

As the storm dissipates, sunlight pours down from behind clouds gently caressing Gary's face.

Turning back to look at his own Pokémon, Gary squints his eyes with a warm smile filled with reassurance. "Let's go home too."

He hopes that all Pokémon—whether clones or those that have always existed—can live happily under the sunshine!
