Pokemon dungeon

Chapter 24: Superior Steel stage

Kay joined his family for dinner, savoring the warmth and comfort he desperately needed after such a long and stressful day.

Kay returned to his room after dinner, determined to prepare for his next adventure.

He sat at his desk on his computer and began searching for a new dungeon to explore.

After some time, he decided to target an F-rank dungeon, one with normal-type Pokemons that would have a huge sum of Normal-type Energy inside; it would be suitable for Eevee's breakthrough.

The next day, Kay dedicated all his time to training with Eevee and Growlithe. Growlithe, who had grown stronger and more mature, was now ready to join Kay on his dungeon attacks.

By evening, Kay was exhausted but satisfied with their progress. He enjoyed a hearty dinner with his family and then went to bed early, knowing he needed to be well-rested for the dungeon attack he had planned for the next day.

The morning sun rose, and Kay packed his essentials, along with the red Potential Persian Stone, in case Eevee passed by a breakthrough inside the dungeon, which was very likely.

Eevee was by his side, as usual, while Growlithe stayed hidden inside Kay's bag to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. They set off toward the dungeon.

As Kay walked, he thought about the new invention from the league he had recently heard about; the invention was called Pokeballs.

These small devices allowed trainers to safely store their Pokemons, making it easier to carry large Pokemons and even hide some Pokemons if the trainer had more than one.

It was a very good invention. Although it was still relatively new, it wasn't very expensive because not many trainers needed it.

Kay made a mental note to purchase one soon, as it would make traveling with multiple Pokemons much more secure.

Lost in thought, Kay soon arrived at his destination. He saw a crowd of trainers gathered outside the dungeon entrance, all waiting for permission from the soldiers to enter the dungeon.

As Kay and the other trainers entered the dungeon, they found themselves in a serene forest. It wasn't dense or overgrown but rather an open area with scattered trees.

The ground was blanketed in soft grass, and sunlight poured through the gaps between the branches, creating a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere.

The air was fresh, with a gentle breeze that carried the faint scent of flowers. It felt more like a tranquil meadow than a typical dungeon, making it a perfect training ground.

(Look in the comments of this paragraph to see the dungeon's image.)

Kay had chosen this dungeon specifically because of Eevee. He believed that Eevee would definitely break through to the superior Steel Stage and that the Normal-type energy within the dungeon would be beneficial for Eevee.

As they ventured further into the forest, Kay ensured they moved to a quiet spot where no other trainers were nearby.

He opened his bag and released Growlithe, who stretched and wagged its tail, eager to join the adventure.

Not long after, the trio encountered their first opponent: a Rattata. The small, purple Pokemon bared its teeth, ready to defend its territory

"Growlithe, use Double Kick!" Kay commanded. Growlithe lunged forward with a powerful Double Kick.

Before Rattata could regain his position, Kay shouted," Growlithe, one more time, use Double Kick." As Growlithe heard Kay, it delivered another Double Kick on Rattata, easily defeating it this time.

The team continued their exploration, battling against various Normal-type Pokemon like Pidgeys, Meowths, and more Rattatas.

Each victory helped Eevee and Growlithe grow stronger. They spent four days inside the dungeon, honing their skills and learning to work together more effectively.

On the fifth day, as they walked through a clearing in the forest, they stumbled upon an unexpected sight.

They saw a towering, brown creature with a tough exterior and a pale belly, standing strong and alert.

A tiny baby peeked out from the pouch on its front, curious and sheltered. Despite its size, it carried a protective, nurturing air, as if guarding its little one was its sole purpose. (Kangaskhan)

The Pokemon was standing in the middle of an open field inside the forest. Then it looked at them cautiously but didn't seem aggressive yet.

As Kay spotted the Kangaskhan, he was excited. Encounters like this were rare in F-rank dungeons.

Kangaskhan might not be extremely strong here, but as a final-stage evolution, it would undoubtedly hold a Power Stone.

Though the value of a Power Stone from an F-rank Pokemon wasn't high, it was still a far better reward than the usual crystals.

Kay quickly scanned Kangaskhan's stats:

Kangaskhan:

Potential: White

Stage: Steel

After seeing its stats, Kay was confident that Eevee alone could take it down. However, he wanted Growlithe to gain experience as well, so he decided to let both Pokemons participate.

"Eevee, Bite! Growlithe, Helping Hand!" Kay instructed.

Eevee darted forward, dark type energy gathered in its mouth as it attacked Kangaskhan on the chest.

Boosted by Growlithe's Helping Hand, the attack landed hard, making Kangaskhan stagger.

The large Pokemon retaliated with a Fire Punch, but Eevee was too quick, easily dodging the counter.

Kay then decided to implement a strategy he had been practicing. Kay's strategy was switching turns between attacking and supporting, one Pokemon attacked while the other one supported, and then they changed turns.

"Now it's your turn, Growlithe. Use Double Kick! Eevee, Helping Hand!"

Growlithe charged toward Kangaskhan, its legs glowing with energy. Seeing the incoming attack, Kangaskhan raised its massive arms to shield its face.

"Growlithe, don't attack from the front! Circle behind it!" Kay shouted.

Growlithe quickly obeyed, running around to Kangaskhan's backside. Kay noticed something: Kangaskhan wasn't turning to defend.

Instead, it began gathering Steel energy around its tail; it was preparing for an Iron Tail.

'It's underestimating Growlithe, it thinks it can endure the attack and counter, but it forgot Eevee's boost.'

Growlithe leaped up and delivered a powerful Double Kick to Kangaskhan's back.

The impact sent the towering Pokemon crashing to the ground with a look of shock from Growlithe's unexpected power preventing it from using the Iron Tail as it lost its balance.

"Eevee, finish it! Use Bite on its neck!"

Eevee dashed forward and delivered a hard blow on Kangaskhan's neck, killing the big Pokemon instantly.

The large Pokemon let out a groan before disintegrating into black ash. Left behind was a smaller creature; the baby Kangaskhan that had been hiding in its pouch.

Kay stared at the small, trembling Pokemon. Its wide, innocent eyes looked up at him, filled with fear and confusion.

Kay's voice was cold and devoid of emotion as he said, "Growlithe, Double Kick."

Growlithe hesitated for a brief moment but then followed the command, landing a swift, fatal blow to the baby Kangaskhan. The small Pokemon let out a faint cry before collapsing.

Though it was Kay who had given the order, something inside him stirred. A strange, uncomfortable feeling twitched in his heart, a pang of guilt, perhaps, or an unsettling realization of what he had just done. But he pushed it aside, convincing himself it was necessary.

He knelt to collect the Power Stone left behind by the fallen Kangaskhan, slipping it into his bag. "Let's move,"

As Kay and his team prepared to leave the battlefield, Eevee let out a soft bark, catching his attention.

Kay turned to look, and his eyes widened as he noticed Eevee's body glowing faintly. It was breaking through to the Superior Steel Stage.

Realizing this was the moment he had been waiting for, Kay quickly placed his bag on the ground, opened it, and pulled out the Persian Stone he had bought for this exact occasion. He gently handed the stone to Eevee.

The Power Stone in Eevee's possession began to radiate a soft white energy, which flowed into Eevee's glowing body.

Kay watched in awe as the process unfolded, marveling at the sight of Eevee growing stronger right before his eyes.

The breakthrough procedure lasted only a few minutes. Once the glow faded, Eevee stood before him looking exactly the same.

Kay smiled, knowing that breakthroughs didn't alter a Pokemon's appearance like evolutions did, but the transformation was significant nonetheless.

He bent down and picked up the Power Stone. It had lost all its color and energy, becoming just a dull, ordinary stone.

Kay threw it onto the floor and then pulled out his Pokedex to check Eevee's updated stats.

See you in the next chapter...

Eevee had consumed the Power Stones and needed other ones, hope you drop some Power Stones for Eevee.
