Chapter 41: Base destruction
Ash and the Gang arrived to change Pryce as they saw Haru as they were going to talk they saw Lance
Haru looked at Lance. "Lance?"
Lance then grabbed Haru. "Your coming with me, I need you help"
He then dragged him to a house in this town, as Ash, Brock, Misty, Casey, Jessie and James followed them, they broke to a house saw Lance told his Dragonite use Hyperbeem on a scientists he loved somehow, broke to a machine went down the stair as he told Haru to follower as he went forward as Haru just shakes his head only to see the many Team Rocket grunt on the floor.
Haru just looked at them as he spoke. "Holy Arceus lancer did you". Then he saw them twitching. "Never mind they are alive, but I gess this is a team rocket base".
Lance released his grip on Haru and motioned for him to follow. "Yeah, but we don't have time to waste. The situation's more complicated than it looks."
Haru, still trying to process the sudden turn of events, followed Lance down a narrow staircase. "You didn't have to drag me here, you know. I was on my way to challenge The next gym leader."
Lance didn't seem phased, his focus solely on the task at hand. "This is bigger than a gym battle, Haru. Trust me."
As they moved deeper into the building, Haru couldn't help but notice the disarray. Team Rocket grunts were sprawled across the floor, some twitching as if knocked out by a powerful force, while others appeared unconscious. The walls were lined with strange equipment, some of which Haru recognized as technology used for Pokémon experiments.
"Holy Arceus, Lance. Did you do all this?" Haru asked, looking at the downed grunts in disbelief.
Lance glanced back briefly, his expression serious. "No. I didn't have to. But I did need to get through, and I wasn't going to wait around for them to make their move."
Haru frowned, realizing the seriousness of the situation. "Looks like Team Rocket's up to something big again. What did they do this time?"
Lance didn't answer immediately. Instead, he waved Haru forward. "We'll have more time to talk when we find out what they're really after. Stay on guard."
As they walked through the dimly lit corridors, Ash and the rest of the gang caught up, clearly confused and curious. Misty, always the voice of reason, spoke up. "What's going on here, Lance? What's Team Rocket planning?"
Lance paused for a moment, scanning the area. "We think they've been conducting illegal experiments. Something involving rare or powerful Pokémon. We need to stop whatever they're trying to do before it's too late."
Haru raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "Illegal experiments? Team Rocket's always been shady, but this is next level."
"That's why we need to act fast," Lance said, leading the group down another hallway. "We're getting closer."
They passed more rooms, most of them locked, but one door at the end of the hall was wide open. Inside, a large computer terminal flickered with data, and several monitors displayed images of Pokémon in containment chambers, their energy levels fluctuating wildly.
"Looks like we found the heart of the operation," Lance said, his voice low but filled with urgency. "Haru, I need you to help me shut this down. You've got the technical expertise, right?"
Haru nodded, pulling out his device and connecting it to the nearby terminal. "I've got it covered. Just give me a second."
As Haru worked to override the system, the rest of the group kept a lookout for any more Team Rocket grunts. James and Jessie, who had been largely silent, exchanged glances.
"I never thought we'd be working alongside Lance like this," James muttered.
Jessie nodded, her arms crossed. "I don't know if I should be impressed or terrified."
Ash looked at his friends, his expression serious. "We need to help Lance. This is bigger than us."
Haru tapped a few more keys on the terminal. "Alright, done. The system's locked out, and the data's been wiped."
Lance breathed a sigh of relief, turning to face the group. "Good work, Haru. But this isn't over. We still need to make sure Team Rocket doesn't escape with anything."
Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed down the hall. Team Rocket grunts were starting to regain consciousness. Haru, ever the strategist, quickly analyzed their options.
"Looks like we've got company," Haru said. "Time to make a quick exit."
Lance nodded, turning toward the others. "Let's move. Everyone, stay close!"
As they made their way back up the stairs, Lance's Dragonite flew overhead, ready for action. "Dragonite, cover us!" Lance commanded.
With a burst of speed, Dragonite unleashed a powerful Hyper Beam, knocking out a few grunts who had gotten in their way. The group made it back to the entrance, but just as they were about to leave, a familiar voice echoed from the shadows.
After running for a while and defeating a few team Rocket Grunts, as Haru has pulled out Swampert, Jessie Arbok, James sent out Scyther in some of the battle, as always has Pikachu, Misty has Starmie, Brock has Crobat out, Casey had Meganium out they fought to a few more grunt setting for alarms everywhere, as they went and saw a giant metal door.
Ash looked at them. "What do we do know".
James then looked the key part. "It looks like a key card".
Casey then looked at Jessie and James. "Hey can you two are Ex Team Rocket why don't you two use your cards".
Jessie then looked away a bit embarrassed. "Um one problem, we don't have our cards anymore we destroyed when we left".
Lance just sigehd. "No time Dragonite destroyed with Hyperbeem".
Dragonite was going to destroy but then the door just opened, as Rose and Diamond just walked eyes close holding the lunch, as they didn't see the group as they went pass them forgetting to lock the door.
Haru looked at Rose. "Was that Rose and Diamond".
Ash looked at them. "Yeah that is them, I am suprise they are still in team rocket even do they didn't seem like they don't want to be in here".
Misty looked at them. "Should we knock them out".
Jessie then spoke holding his chuckle. "No they didn't even notice eyes, they are probably not paying attention to what is happening".
Haru just sighed. "Those two helped us even without knowing it, come let's Go"
As they went to the bigger centre then they saw it, as they looked at it.
Jassie just spoke. "How much money did Team Rocket have".
James then looked at her. "I think with out is and our non stop use of the rocket credit card, they probably have a lot of money".
Haru, Ash, and the rest of the group exchanged looks as they took in the massive room before them. The walls were lined with state-of-the-art equipment, flashing lights, and large containers holding various Pokémon in different stages of what appeared to be intense experimentation. It was clear that this wasn't just a typical Team Rocket hideout; this was something far more dangerous.
James, still awestruck, whistled softly. "Yeah, they definitely don't have money problems. But the real question is... what are they planning with all this?"
Lance didn't waste any time. "Whatever it is, we need to stop it. Fast."
The group moved cautiously through the room, with Lance leading the way. Haru kept an eye on his Pokémon, making sure they were ready for anything. He couldn't help but think about Rose and Diamond, still in Team Rocket's service. They didn't seem evil, just... misguided. It made him wonder why they stayed, and if they truly knew the full extent of what Team Rocket was doing.
"Hey, Haru," Casey said, breaking his thoughts. "What do you think Team Rocket's endgame is? I mean, they've always been about stealing Pokémon, but this looks like they're doing something much bigger."
Haru scratched his head. "Honestly? I don't know. But whatever it is, it's not good. We've seen their experiments before, and they're not exactly known for ethical practices."
As they moved deeper into the facility, they came across another large door, this one far more fortified. The lock looked impenetrable, but Haru wasn't about to let that stop him. He pulled out a few tools from his bag, ready to take a crack at it.
"Let me try something," Haru said, kneeling down to work on the lock.
James leaned in, whispering to Jessie. "I swear, we've had more close calls with doors than I can count. This place is like a maze of security."
Jessie rolled her eyes. "Just stay quiet, and let Haru do his thing."
While Haru worked on the lock, Ash, Misty, and Brock kept watch. Casey leaned in to speak with Lance. "What do you think they're doing to those Pokémon? They looked like they were in pain."
Lance's expression darkened. "I don't know, but whatever it is, it's wrong. I've seen experiments like this before. Team Rocket's trying to force evolution, make Pokémon stronger, but at the cost of their well-being. It's a dangerous game they're playing."
Haru finally clicked the last piece into place, and with a soft whir, the lock disengaged. "Got it! Now, let's see what's inside."
The door opened, revealing a massive control room filled with computers and monitors. At the center of the room was a large tank, inside of which a powerful-looking Pokémon was floating. Its body was glowing with unnatural energy, and it was clear this wasn't just an ordinary Pokémon.
Haru's heart sank. "What the... is that a...?"
Lance stepped forward, his voice grim. "A Mewtwo. And it's been artificially enhanced."
James, who had followed closely behind, gasped. "That's... that's one of the strongest Pokémon ever created! But... it looks like it's in some kind of stasis."
"Team Rocket's been trying to create more Mewtwo-like Pokémon," Lance said, his fists clenched. "This is what they've been working toward all along. And if they succeed, they'll have an army of uncontrollable super-Pokémon."
Ash's eyes narrowed. "We can't let that happen. We need to stop them now."
Ash then looked around the room. "What are they even doing".
Haru then looked at Jessie and James. "Any thoughts Ex Rockets".
James just spoke. "Just like we have said, Archer is trying to find Giovanni after with his missing for 4 years he trying everything".
Haru then looked at them. "So where is Archer".
Lance then spoke. "Probably not here, he probably some where else".
Ash then looked at a door. "If there are more Pokémon like that Mewtwo behind this one". Ash then looked Pikachu. "Do it".
Pikachu then used thunderbolt as he destroy the door, everyone went in as they saw but then Lancer destroy the tube with the Mewtwo as then the Mewtwo turned to water
The group went inside the room, as they saw many Pokémon locked up, they were from many regions, as then Haru noticed a particular Pokémon a Yamasak but it was different colour a Shiny, as he then had flashbacks to his past life.
As it shows during his time as Unova King, as next to him was his Yamasak
Haru clears his head, he looked at Swampert as Swampert then broke the chase the Pokémon, the Ghost type Pokémon looked at Haru as it went away.
"Now well you looks at this".
They turned there head as they saw a Woman, she is a beautiful young woman with fair skin, scarlet red hair that goes to her shoulders, and matching red eyes. Her uniform consists of a black shirt, with a white leather, long sleeve jacket over it. A small black patch on the left side of the jacket bearing team rocket's symbol, along with a long white skirt with a slit on the right side for style. On her waist, a black belt with a silver belt buckle. On her feet, a pair of white, knee high, high heeled leather boots. To accessorize, she use pink lipstick with matching pink nail polish, and is always seen wearing a pair of large golden, triangular shaped earrings.

Ariana looked at them. "I gess it was not really my lucky day, but still I think you're no match".
Lance looked at and told the other to get back. "Everyone gets back, she is one team rocket highest members".
Jessie then spoke. "Yeah I know, my Arbok was given by her to me".
Haru then looked at her, as he sees Red in Anger as he spoke with Venom. "You".
Everyone looked at Haru, as he looked at her in anger as did Ariana she was confused why this 16 year-old was looking at her with so much hate
Ariana looked at Haru. "Do I know, did I steal your Pokémon".
Hair just looked at her. "You don't even remember huh, "12th March 1996".
Flash back.
As it shows a 12 year-old Haru, as he was looking at a 12 year-old Whitney as she waa looking back at him
Whitney looked at Haru. "Come on Haru you gotta return to Pokémon battle one day".
Haru looked at her as he spoke. "I don't want, after that lost I don't want too".
Whitney just sighed and looked at him. "You can't let what lance said to you get to you, so get up".
Whitney dad then spoke. "Yes kid, you gotta get stronger right".
Whitney smiled as she looked at him. "Yeah, even dad believes you".
As Haru was going to say something, he then saw it as there was giant ari balloon, as it had Red R, as Whitney dad recognised it.
Whitney dad then spoke. "Oh no".
Whitney looked at her dad. "Dad is everything ok".
As in one of the hot air balloon was Giovanni, as next to him as Mewtwo as he looked at Mewtwo as Mewtwo raises his hand as all the Miltank and many more normal types in the far starts to float in the air as then Team Rocket member sent out there Pokéball as they catch each of them, Whitney Dad tryed to fight as so did Whitney, Haru guided then but then she came, as it was the first time Haru meet Ariana
Ariana holder her Pokéball. "You are really having problems with them".
She sent out her powerful Arbok as it fought Whitney Miltank and destroyed it, sending Whitney and her dad flying, Haru went to them as checks if they were on or not as then he ducked as with all his strength as Young Haru didn't know he used a bit of Aura as he moved them both out of the way of flamethrower as it then hit the farm, Whitney dad rushed to the farm, as for Whitney what she saw was Haru back was burned as she screened, the young girl had never seen something like this before.
That was the day Whitney started to train like no tomorrow and to the point that she is know, and the day it made Haru reflect on his life a bit more
End of Flash back
Ariana looked at Haru. "You say that date like I should remember something".
Haru just looked at her. "Oh you don't even fucking remember".
The atmosphere in the room grew tense, as everyone held their breath, watching the interaction between Haru and Ariana. Ash, Misty, Brock, and the others stood in silence, uncertain of what had just unfolded. The name "Ariana" carried weight, but it was clear from Haru's reaction that this wasn't just any ordinary encounter.
Ariana tilted her head, still confused by Haru's anger, but a smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. "I see… so you think I'm the one to blame for whatever happened to you. But I'm afraid I don't remember you at all." Her voice was cold, dismissive, as if this whole exchange meant little to her.
Haru's eyes narrowed, his fists clenching at his sides. His voice was low but laced with venom. "You may not remember, but I sure as hell do." He stepped forward, the intensity in his gaze unwavering. "You don't remember the day you ruined everything for me. You don't remember how you destroyed my friends' lives with one attack, with one order. How you forced me to make choices I never wanted to."
Ash and the others exchanged uneasy glances, sensing the gravity of the situation. Haru had always been calm and collected, but seeing him like this—this angry, this personal—it was clear that Ariana had triggered something deep inside him.
"I should've known it was you," Haru continued, his voice thick with emotion. "I should've known you were the one who destroyed my home and my peace. You came in, and without hesitation, you took everything from us. And you don't even remember it." He bit back a sharp laugh, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Why am I not surprised?"
Ariana's smile faltered for a brief moment, though she quickly regained her composure. "I don't know what you're talking about, kid. All I've done is serve Team Rocket, just like you've all tried to stop us countless times." She glanced at the group, her expression turning sly. "And from what I can see, it looks like this is just another failed attempt."
Haru clenched his fists tighter, stepping even closer to her. "You don't get it, do you? You didn't just fight for Team Rocket; you tore apart everything I had left. The people I cared about, my dreams… It was all destroyed in that one moment."
Jessie, who had been silently observing the confrontation, suddenly spoke up. "Haru, I know you're upset, but we don't need to let her get to us. You know who she is, and you know what she's capable of. Just—"
But Haru wasn't listening. His focus was solely on Ariana, who had now taken a step back, her stance shifting slightly as if she were considering something.
"I never thought I'd be faced with someone like you again," Ariana said coldly, finally locking eyes with Haru. "You should've known your place. People like you… they never last long in the world of Team Rocket."
With a flick of her wrist, Ariana sent out her Arbok, the familiar snake-like Pokémon slithering forward with menacing intent. The room seemed to grow darker as it raised its head, ready for battle.
But before the situation could escalate further, Lance stepped forward, his voice sharp. "Everyone, stay back. This is my fight."
Haru barely glanced at Lance but nodded. His anger was still palpable, but he knew Lance had the experience to deal with Ariana.
"I don't need anyone to fight my battles for me," Haru muttered, barely keeping his emotions in check.
Ariana chuckled, clearly amused. "We'll see who gets the last laugh, won't we?"
But Haru wasn't done. He turned to his Swampert, giving a quick nod. "Swampert, let's finish this."
As the battle began, Ash and the others could only watch as the two powerful opponents squared off. Lance's Dragonite took a position beside Swampert, while Ariana's Arbok was already poised to strike.
The fight that followed was intense, with the two trainers using everything they had to gain the upper hand. Ariana's Arbok hissed, using Poison Fang, but Swampert dodged swiftly, countering with Muddy Water to push the snake back.
Ariana wasn't easily defeated, though. "You think a simple Water attack will stop Arbok? Think again!" she shouted, sending her Pokémon into a quick and powerful Coil, ready to unleash a devastating attack.
But Haru wasn't about to let that happen. With a commanding gesture, he called out to Swampert. "Now, Swampert! Use Earthquake!"
Swampert's attack shook the ground beneath their feet, causing Arbok to struggle to maintain its footing. The sheer force of the attack was enough to send the Poison-type Pokémon crashing into the wall, defeated but not knocked out.
Haru stood, breathing heavily but victorious. Ariana, meanwhile, only smirked, as though the defeat didn't bother her. "Not bad, kid. But this isn't over."
Her expression grew dark as she withdrew Arbok, clearly realizing that she had underestimated the group. "You may have won this round, but don't think for a second that Team Rocket is finished with you." With that, she disappeared into the shadows, leaving the group standing in the now-silent room.
Haru stood still for a moment, his anger slowly ebbing away. The confrontation with Ariana had stirred up painful memories—memories he had long buried. As he turned to face his friends, Ash placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, Haru... you okay?" Ash asked softly, his tone sincere.
Haru took a deep breath, giving Ash a small nod. "Yeah. I will be. Just... a lot to process."
Misty, Brock, and Casey also stepped forward, offering their support. "We're with you," Brock said, his voice steady.
Lance gave him a knowing look, clearly impressed. "You did well. But this isn't over yet. We've still got to stop whatever Team Rocket is planning with those Pokémon."
Haru nodded, his expression hardening once more. "Let's finish this."
To be continued
