Pokémon: Ash's New Journey

Chapter 75: Intense Battle! Synced Experience!

As Ash wondered why Sceptile didn't gain battle experience after defeating Shiftry, Spenser had already sent out his second Pokémon—Venusaur.

Ash decided to recall Sceptile and send Pidgeot into battle instead.

"Pidgeot!"

Pidgeot was thrilled to be chosen for this match.

In the original storyline, Ash used Swellow in this battle. However, as he was now focusing on training Pidgeot, this was its time to shine.

Onboard the hot air balloon, Misty and May were elated by Ash's victory in the first round, especially since Sceptile managed to secure the win without taking any damage.

"Ash is using Pidgeot, and Spenser is using Venusaur. Based on type advantages, Ash has a significant edge here," Misty said excitedly.

"That's true! This is so thrilling to watch," May added.

Both girls clasped their hands nervously, rooting for Ash's success.

"Don't get too complacent," Scott cautioned. "Let's watch and see how this plays out."

Scott maneuvered the balloon closer to the battlefield as he continued to comment on the action.

The Battle Begins

Spenser pointed his staff toward the battlefield. "Venusaur, greet them with Razor Leaf!"

Venusaur's massive flower emitted a flurry of razor-sharp leaves.

"Pidgeot, use Air Slash!"

The Air Slash not only cut through the Razor Leaf but also carried enough force to strike Venusaur.

"Venusaur, use Frenzy Plant!"

"Pidgeot, dodge with Agility!"

CRACK!

The ground split apart as enormous, thorn-like vines erupted toward Pidgeot. Thanks to its incredible speed, Pidgeot narrowly evaded the attack.

"Pidgeot, unleash a powerful Hurricane!"

"Venusaur, counter with Leaf Storm!"

A massive collision of energy erupted as the two moves clashed. While Venusaur held the upper hand in level, Pidgeot's type advantage proved critical.

A Change in Terrain

"Ash, this battlefield is too dense for Pidgeot to use its full potential. Let's move toward the coastline!" Ash called to his Pokémon as he ran toward the sea.

"Oh no, you don't!" Spenser exclaimed. "Venusaur, use Sleep Powder!"

"Pidgeot, ascend and blow it away with Hurricane!"

"Venusaur, follow up with Leaf Storm!"

"Pidgeot, use Quick Attack to create distance!"

Both trainers sprinted through the jungle alongside their Pokémon.

A Coastal Showdown

"You're quite fit, Ash," Spenser remarked. "It's been a long time since I've faced such an energetic challenger. The last one was a young trainer from another region."

"Not at all," Ash replied. "You're incredibly fit for your age, Spenser. But now that we're by the coastline, Pidgeot's speed will shine!"

"Pika!" Pikachu cheered from Ash's shoulder.

"Pidgeot!"

The sun shone brightly overhead as Spenser prepared his next move. "Venusaur, let's end this with Solar Beam!"

The strong sunlight allowed Venusaur to charge its Solar Beam much faster.

"Pidgeot, use Aerial Ace!"

Pidgeot sped toward Venusaur at blinding speed. Spenser was confident Venusaur could withstand the attack and fire off its Solar Beam.

But just then, dark clouds rolled in, blocking the sunlight!

"What?!" Spenser exclaimed.

Without the sunlight, Solar Beam's charge time increased significantly.

"Now's our chance! Pidgeot, another Aerial Ace!" Ash commanded.

Pidgeot struck Venusaur once again, sending it reeling.

"Finish it with Hurricane!"

Pidgeot flapped its wings furiously, creating a massive gale. Venusaur was lifted off the ground and slammed into a large boulder, which shattered under the impact.

Venusaur was unable to battle.

Ash secured his second win in the match.

"Ding! Battle experience synchronized. Congratulations, host! Sceptile and Pidgeot gained 18,000 experience points for defeating Shiftry and 19,500 experience points for defeating Venusaur!"

The system's explanation clarified the reward: battle experience synchronization meant that both Pokémon would share experience points from all defeated opponents.

Ash decided to use a fivefold experience multiplier card.

"Ding! Fivefold experience multiplier activated. Sceptile and Pidgeot gained 187,500 experience points each!"

Both Pokémon leveled up significantly.

Sceptile: Level 47 → Level 53

Pidgeot: Level 47 → Level 53

Their power skyrocketed to near-Elite Four levels.

Though the experience synchronization had a limit of two Pokémon, it was still an incredible advantage for training.

"Impressive," Spenser admitted. "I didn't expect such a strong challenger today. But this isn't over yet. Let's see how you handle my final Pokémon—Claydol!"

"Claydol?" Ash said, observing the dual-type Pokémon. Its Ground and Psychic typing, combined with powerful moves like Hyper Beam, made it a formidable opponent.

"This Pokémon thrives in nature," Spenser explained. "It utilizes the environment to maximize the power of its attacks. What's your next Pokémon, Ash?"

Ash smiled confidently and called back Pidgeot. "Time for Sceptile to take the stage again!"
