Pokemon: Ace's Adventures!

Chapter 26: Chapter 26:Two down,One more to Go!

The referee raised his flag and shouted, "Begin!"

Ace wasted no time. "Clefairy, use Gravity!" he commanded.

Clefairy's right hand glowed with a soft pink energy, and the battlefield was immediately bathed in a shimmering pink light. The change was palpable as Jolteon staggered, its legs shaking under the increased gravitational pull.

Lt. Surge's eyes widened briefly in surprise. "Huh, a Gravity user? Didn't see that coming, kid."

Ace smirked, his confidence unwavering. 'Clefairy's Gravity is unmatched. She's been perfecting it ever since I caught her. No better way to show its true strength than here.'

"Jolteon, use Discharge!" Surge ordered, his booming voice resonating in the gym.

Electric sparks erupted from Jolteon's body, spreading out in a dangerous arc toward Clefairy.

"Clefairy, Iron Tail!" Ace shouted, his smirk widening.

Clefairy's back glimmered as a metallic tail sprouted and slammed into the ground. When the electrical Discharge reached her, the energy harmlessly traveled through the tail into the ground. The audience gasped in awe.

"What just happened?" May asked, her eyes wide.

Gary crossed his arms, narrowing his gaze. "That shouldn't have worked. How did the electricity just vanish?"

Professor Cerise chuckled, adjusting his glasses. "Iron Tail isn't just for offense. It acted as a conductor, redirecting the electricity into the ground and neutralizing the attack. A clever strategy."

Surge grinned, showing his teeth. "Not bad, but I've got more tricks, kid. Jolteon, Dig!"

Jolteon burrowed into the ground, disappearing from sight.

"Clefairy, Copycat!" Ace countered without hesitation.

Clefairy's eyes glowed, and moments later, she mimicked Jolteon's movements, digging into the ground as well.

"Now, use Sing!" Ace commanded.

Clefairy's melodic voice echoed faintly through the ground. Surge's confident expression faltered as panic flashed across his face.

"Jolteon, resurface now!" Surge shouted.

Jolteon burst out of the ground but staggered, its movements sluggish and unsteady. It blinked rapidly, trying to fight off the drowsiness induced by Clefairy's Sing.

"Perfect timing!" Ace said. "Clefairy, finish it with Dig!"

Clefairy emerged from the ground and delivered a direct hit, sending Jolteon tumbling back.

"Jolteon, Iron Tail!" Surge bellowed.

Jolteon managed to strike back, its glowing tail slamming into Clefairy and sending her airborne.

"Thunderbolt, now!" Surge barked.

"Clefairy, Charm!" Ace shouted quickly.

Mid-air, Clefairy winked and blew Jolteon a kiss. Jolteon froze, its Thunderbolt flickering out as it gazed at Clefairy in awe.

"What are you doing, Jolteon? Snap out of it!" Surge yelled, but it was too late.

"Clefairy, Defense Curl, then Iron Tail and Disarming Voice while spinning!" Ace instructed.

Clefairy curled into a ball, her tail glowing metallic and her voice releasing waves of pink energy. She spun rapidly, forming a spiraling meteor of steel and fairy energy. With a sharp descent, she slammed into Jolteon, creating a cloud of dust upon impact.

When the dust settled, Jolteon lay unconscious, while Clefairy stood triumphantly, twirling with joy despite a few bruises.

"Jolteon is unable to battle! Clefairy wins!" the referee declared.

Ace pumped his fist into the air. "Great job, Clefairy!"

The audience erupted in cheers.

"She's so cute!" May, Dawn, Chloe and Serena gushed, clapping excitedly.

Even Gary's cheerleaders joined in. "Clefairy, you're adorable!" they chorused while Gary just clicked his tongue but nodded his head as that was a good combo move.

Professor Cerise nodded in approval. "That was an excellent demonstration of tactics and timing."

Meanwhile, Talia dabbed at her eyes with a handkerchief, crying dramatically. "My little Ace is growing up so fast!"

Cerise sweatdropped, muttering under his breath. "She really treats him like her own son. Or maybe… a son-in-law, if Chloe ever works up the courage to confess." His lips curled into an amused smile.

Ace gave Clefairy a thumbs-up before returning her. 'One down, two to go.'

Surge gave a hearty chuckle as he returned his fainted Jolteon to its Pokéball. "Not bad, kid. That was a solid combo you pulled off. But you've only scratched the surface of what my team can do." He reached for his second Pokéball, his grin widening. "Let's see how you handle this! Magneton, you're up!"

The metallic clinking sound of Magneton's components echoed as the Pokémon floated onto the battlefield, sparks crackling ominously around its magnetic orbs.

Ace's eyes gleamed with determination as he looked down at Smeargle, who barked confidently and stepped forward. The small Pokémon cracked its knuckles and motioned at Magneton with its tail, as if saying, Come at me.

The crowd was intrigued, particularly Professor Cerise, who adjusted his glasses. "Ah, Smeargle. This should be interesting. I've been eager to see how much progress it's made under Ace's care."

Dawn grinned, her excitement palpable. "Oh, Professor, you're in for a treat. Smeargle's growth has been nothing short of amazing."

Serena nodded, a fond smile on her face. "And it's Ace's starter and strongest Pokémon, too. I wonder how much time it will take for Mr.Surge to pull out his third Pokémon when Smeargle's done with this one."

Gary, leaning back in his seat with crossed arms, frowned slightly as he overheard Serena. 'His starter and strongest, huh?' he thought to himself. His gaze hardened as he clenched his fist. 'When I battle Ace, I'll make sure to use my Wartortle. I'll show him that my starter is the strongest.'

The air was charged with tension, both figuratively and literally, as the two Pokémon faced off. Ace took a deep breath and smirked. "Alright, Smeargle. Let's show them what we've got!"

Surge nodded. "I hope you're ready for the shock of your life, kid. Magneton's no pushover. Let's see if your little Smeargle can handle it!"

Smeargle crouched slightly, his tail poised like a brush ready to paint his victory. The battlefield crackled with anticipation as the referee raised his flags once more.

"Let the battle begin!"

The referee's voice barely echoed across the battlefield before Surge shouted, "Magneton, use Lock-On immediately!"

But Ace was already prepared. "Smeargle, Agility into Swords Dance and Quick Attack! Let's go!"

Smeargle darted into action, his movements becoming a blur. His aura surged as he seamlessly boosted his speed with Agility, sharpened his attack power with Swords Dance, and bolted across the battlefield with Quick Attack. The battlefield came alive as Smeargle zigzagged unpredictably, leaving afterimages in his wake.

Surge's eyes widened in shock. "What the—? He used three moves at once?"

The audience, except for May, Serena, and Dawn, erupted into murmurs of disbelief. Even Cerise couldn't contain his astonishment as he leaned forward, his hand adjusting his glasses. "Remarkable. That wasn't a simple combination—those moves were executed simultaneously. This is something entirely different."

He continued to explain, his voice filled with awe. "Typically, combo moves are a sequence of actions. For example, Clefairy earlier used Defense Curl first, then transitioned into spinning, followed by stabilizing Iron Tail, and only after that was Disarming Voice added. But here... Smeargle didn't sequence the moves; it layered them. This is extraordinary."

Talia gasped. "Oh, my little Ace! Always pushing boundaries!"

Meanwhile, Ace crossed his arms with a confident smirk. "Surprised? My Smeargle is special. We've trained hard to develop a technique called the Three-Move Style."

"Three-Move Style?" Surge repeated, intrigued.

Ace nodded as he glanced at Smeargle, who continued to move gracefully across the field, dodging everytime Magneton looked at Smeargle to mark him with Lock-On. "It allows Smeargle to execute three moves simultaneously. Not in sequence, but at the same time."

As he spoke, Ace's thoughts wandered back to how they had developed this technique. 'Smeargle's unique physiology and abilities make it possible. His move Sketch lets him copy any Pokémon's technique, but it's his body that truly sets him apart. Smeargle's aura control is unparalleled—it's not limited to a single focus point like most Pokémon when they use their moves.'

He recalled their grueling training sessions. 'Smeargle can bend and direct his aura simultaneously across different parts of his body unlike others who have to focus at a singular part to use their moves. For example, he channels aura to his legs for Quick Attack, tenses his muscles for Swords Dance, and boosts his reflexes with Agility—all without missing a beat. And that's not even his limit. He could use his tail for Slash, his mouth for Ember or Water Gun, and his hands for something like Charge Beam.'

Surge clenched his fists, clearly impressed despite himself. "I see now. This isn't just talent; it's pure, calculated effort. You've trained your Smeargle to break the limits of what normal Pokémon can do. I like that, kid, but let's see how far this technique can take you."

Ace's smirk grew wider. 'Exactly. This was the reason I chose Smeargle. Pokémon aren't restricted by 'stats' or arbitrary limits like in the games from my previous world. They can keep growing as long as they have the determination—and a good trainer to guide them.'

The girls in the stands watched in awe, with May exclaiming, "I knew Smeargle was strong, but this is on another level!"

Serena nodded in agreement. "Ace doesn't just train his Pokémon; he unlocks their full potential."

Gary, meanwhile, narrowed his eyes, his jaw tightening as he absorbed Ace's words and had came to the same conclusion when he thought about Smeargles sketch move. 'Limitless potential, huh? If that's true, then Smeargle really is something special to look into for the future. But that doesn't mean I'll back down against it for now. My Wartortle can surpass any Pokémon, and I'll prove it when the time comes to fight Ace.'

Surge grinned confidently, his voice booming as he commanded, "Magneton, use Swift and boost it with Thunderbolt!"

The air crackled with energy as Magneton's metallic body gleamed. Glowing stars, the hallmark of Swift, shot out in a radiant flurry, their trajectory unavoidable. A moment later, Magneton unleashed a powerful Thunderbolt, the electrical charge surging into the stars, enhancing their speed and lethality. The glowing stars now carried streaks of electricity, zipping toward Smeargle like homing missiles.

Without missing a beat, Ace shouted, "Smeargle, use Night Slash to cut through the Swift, and Iron Tail to ground the Thunderbolt! Finish with Amnesia!"

Smeargle barked in acknowledgment as a dark blade of energy materialized in its paw. He sliced through the glowing stars one by one. Sparks flew as the Thunderbolt struck, but Smeargle's tail gleamed metallic as it slammed it into the ground. The electricity coursed harmlessly into the earth, neutralized by Iron Tail's conductivity.

A faint pink glow enveloped Smeargle's eyes, signaling the activation of Amnesia.

Surge's grin faltered slightly, his brow furrowing in surprise. "Not bad, kid. You've got some serious moves."

But Magneton seized the opening it's combo had created since Smeargle had used three moves, so one of its killer moves with its ability was definitely something it's trainer was gonna order it to use. It floated closer towards Smeargle as Surge's voice rang out with the same move Magneton was preparing to use, "Magneton, use Facade!"

A brilliant white light enveloped Magneton as it accelerated toward Smeargle. The attack struck with a resounding impact, sending Smeargle skidding back as it cried out in pain. Ace's eyes widened as he clenched his fists.

'That hit harder than it should have… Analytic. Magneton must have Analytic as its ability,' Ace thought grimly, analyzing the situation.

Ace's shouted, "Smeargle, use Sketch, Toxic Spikes, and Ember!"

Smeargle, still wincing from the previous attack, immediately sprang into action. The sketch move activated as Smeargle copied the move Facade.

From Smeargle's tail, toxic spikes began to materialize, spreading out and embedding themselves deep into the ground on Surge's side of the battlefield. They glowed ominously, ready to poison the next opponent. Simultaneously, Smeargle shot a burst of Ember from his mouth. The fireball struck Magneton squarely, making it screech as the flames seared into its metallic body.

Surge's eyes widened in surprise as the ember was significantly larger than expected, its flames more intense than he was used to seeing. A realization hit him.

'That Ember was too strong... This Smeargle must have the Unawakened Technician ability!' Surge thought, his expression grim. Unawakened Technician was a powerful ability that boosted the strength of weaker moves like Ember. This made Ace's Smeargle a much more formidable opponent than he had initially believed. Though the only good thing was Ace's Smeargle hadn't awakened it's ability yet .The awakened technician ability was a beast to be reckoned with. His friend in the military has a awakened technician ability Toxtricity and it was able to fight champion level Pokemon even though it was only at elite level. He thought he should give Ace some pointers on awakened abilities and hidden abilities when the battle is over.

"Magneton, don't let up! Use Electric Terrain!" Surge barked, shaking all those thoughts away.

Magneton sparked with electricity as it released a surge of energy, causing the entire battlefield to crackle with the power of Electric Terrain. The ground beneath their feet shimmered with the electric energy, enhancing all Electric-type moves on the field.

Ace narrowed his eyes, a plan forming in his mind. "Smeargle, use Sketch to copy Electric Terrain, and then keep it up with Ember, Defense Curl, and Minimize!"

Smeargle growled in response as it copied the Electric Terrain while his body shrunk and Bulged slightly as he used Defense Curl to increase his defense while simultaneously minimizing his size, making him harder to hit. The ember shot from Smeargle's mouth again, forcing Magneton to retreat, but not without taking a few more painful shots.

Suddenly, a rainbow aura enveloped Smeargle as it howled with power. The aura shifted, vibrant and intense, surrounding Smeargle's body in an ethereal glow. Ace couldn't help but cheer. "That's it, Smeargle! Overdrive Mode is activated!"

Serena, May, and Dawn gasped, recognizing the magnitude of what was happening. "Overdrive Mode," Dawn explained to the others, her eyes wide. "It's a technique where Smeargle boosts all of its stats to their maximum and has reached his current peak form! It's terrifying when all of its power is unleashed at once."

Serena nodded, her gaze focused on the glowing Smeargle. "Ace and Smeargle are ready to finish this from the looks of it."

But Surge, now visibly sweating, knew just how dangerous this Overdrive Mode could be when he thought of one move. He had seen the power it could generate, and he wasn't about to let that move catch him off guard. "Magneton, we need to end this quickly," Surge muttered to himself. He quickly barked an order. "Magneton, use Lock-On! We'll make sure this Steel Beam hits its mark!"

Magneton, despite its strained condition, activated its Lock-On, locking onto Smeargle. Surge had discarded the idea of using Zap Cannon. He knew that with Electric Terrain boosting Magneton's Electric-type moves, it could land a solid hit, but he also feared that Smeargle might have the move Stored Power. He was also worried that Smeargle could neutralize Zap Cannon with Iron Tail, making it a risky move.

The tension was palpable as Magneton charged up. Ace's grin widened. "Smeargle, use Stored Power!"

The moment Ace called out the command, Surge's worst fears came to life. A dark, iron-colored ball materialized before Magneton, but before it could fire, Smeargle's rainbow aura intensified, concentrating in his hands. In an instant, a swirling rainbow-colored ball appeared, shimmering with raw energy.

"Fire!" both Ace and Surge shouted simultaneously.

Magneton fired its Steel Beam, a powerful, shimmering projectile of metal and energy, aimed directly at Smeargle. But Smeargle's Stored Power was already released, and the rainbow beam collided with Magneton's attack. For a moment, the two beams locked, a crackling surge of energy filling the arena.

Then, with an overwhelming force, Smeargle's rainbow beam tore through the Steel Beam and hit Magneton. The collision created a massive explosion of Rainbow light, sending shockwaves rippling across the gym. The entire building seemed to tremble from the sheer force of the impact, the air thick with the force of the blast.

Both Ace and Surge shielded their eyes from the explosion, instinctively leaning against the walls behind them for protection. The audience was gripped with fear as the shockwaves raged through the gym, knocking the air from their lungs. They held onto each other for dear life, trying to stay on their feet as the winds of the shockwave howled around them.

As the light and shockwaves subsided, the gym fell silent. The dust cloud hung in the air, making it hard to see clearly for a few moments. Then, when it cleared, the audience stared in disbelief at the battlefield.

A massive crater had been carved into the floor, its edges cracked and charred. In the center of the destruction, Magneton lay motionless, clearly knocked out. Smeargle stood with the Rainbow aura still around him, a serious expression on his face.

The referee, who had also been knocked off his feet by the force of the blast, quickly regained his composure and shouted, "Magneton is unable to battle! That means the match is down to Surge's final Pokémon!"

A tense silence hung in the air before the referee's voice broke through their spaced out minds. "Ace still has Clefairy, Smeargle, and one more Pokémon that hasn't been used yet! The match isn't over yet!"

As the audience tried to process the events, May, Dawn, and Serena were also left speechless. They had all seen the power of Smeargle's Stored Power before in the Diglett Cave, but this time, it was different. It had been on a completely different level.

Talai, still reeling from the magnitude of the battle, stammered, "What just happened...?"

Gary, unable to hide his shock, wiped the sweat from his neck, realizing just how much raw power Ace and Smeargle had unleashed. "I... I don't know if I can handle that level of power if I ever battle Ace." he muttered under his breath, a mix of awe and competitiveness in his voice.

As the dust settled, the stage was set for the final showdown. Surge only had one Pokémon left, and Ace still had two strong contenders—and the mysterious third Pokémon, which had yet to be revealed.

Surge chuckled, his laugh growing louder as he returned his Magneton to its Pokéball. "You know, it's been a while since I've had a battle like this," he said, clearly enjoying the challenge.

Ace nodded in agreement, wiping sweat from his brow. "Mr. Surge, you're definitely the strongest trainer I've faced so far in this journey," he admitted. There was a sense of respect in his voice, but also a fire burning in his eyes. "Every command you give keeps me on my toes."

Surge smirked, as if he had expected nothing less. "I wouldn't have it any other way, kid. You've earned this fight."

With a swift motion, Surge threw his final Pokéball into the air. A flash of light burst out, revealing his last Pokémon. The electric sparks crackled around the Pokémon as it landed on the battlefield—Raichu. It stood with its fur bristling with static electricity, and its eyes gleamed with the same fierce confidence as its trainer. A grin spread across Raichu's face, matching the one on Surge's.

Ace's and Smeargle both had serious expressions on their faces. Smeargle, still enveloped in the shimmering rainbow aura of Overdrive Mode, took a fighting stance.

The referee, sensing the tension in the air, raised his hand. "This is the final match of the battle. Trainers, are you ready?"

Ace and Surge nodded in unison.

"Let the final round begin!" the referee declared.
