Chapter 14: Chapter 14 : Let's...Goh?
Five months have come and gone in a blink of an eye ever since I had that amazing battle against Mom's Articuno.
Sure, battling against a seasoned legendary was stepping out of my boundary, let alone having a battle at all since I was still a kid. I was glad that's I could even leave a scratch on Articuno's body.
Vulpix was born a haughty girl, showing disdain to others and only showing her happiness around me. If she wanted to challenge a Pokemon, she wouldn't back down. Just like when she blasted Green with snow when she hatched.
The main reason I did that battle was to show Vulpix her place. Might sound a bit mean but I don't want her to develop arrogance while growing. There's always a stronger Pokemon out there, and Articuno did his job.
Moreover it let me witness how powerful a Legendary Pokemon can be. I'm still in shock mom even caught one, even if it was by chance.
And now five months later, Vulpix was growing along nicely. Her attitude toward others improved greatly. She even lets Green and Gary play with her besides me now.
However, for some reason Vulpix just hates Ash. It wasn't because she wouldn't let him play with her because of her past haughtiness, but for some reason Vulpix she just doesn't like him. Sometimes I would catch Vulpix chasing Ash out of the room wherever he would play in for trying to pet her, haha!
Poor guy. Perhaps Vulpix just hates main characters? There's more than just one main character in this mash-up world, or so I would think, since this worlds spans across all three. We'll test theory depending on Summer Camp goes, which is actually set to occur in two weeks time.
The year had come and gone in these last five months, and it was now the start of a new millennium. Year 2000, January 1st. Summer Camp officially starts in two weeks, January 14th. But there was one big event to happen before then. The birthday celebration of my Big 5. I would be turning five years old in four days.
Time really does fly when you're having fun being a kid again, huh? The boss in my last life was such a slave driver Those times would pass by quickly too, but those times would leave my body a wreck each night. Now I'm in the body of a kid again, reliving life as I want to without having to worry about what I did in the past. I have family I'm more tied with now was well.
But with the new millennium and family members, it comes with its new worries as well. I've been paying to the channel news to keep up with the news in each region.
In Kanto, Team Rocket has started to sprout around several cities, mostly stealing second or third evolution Pokemon and anything related to evolution, like the elemental stones from their last major incident.
But what I've seen thus far, there hadn't been any sighting of any sort of Masked Man figure from what's been reported on the news. That means either the Masked Man is keeping away in one of Team Rocket's hideouts out of the public eye or he simply does not exist.
I really hope its the latter, the manga version can be rather cruel. I don't want to see Pallet Town up in flames as a couple of ex-champions fight him. Perhaps God tossed Green here without any of that backstory, to let her experience a normal childhood like I'm currently doing.
If that's really the case, as cliché as it sounds, I really do hope it's like that. Green deserves better than what she had to go through.
But its still worrisome Team Rocket is stealing such things. Its almost makes it like they're interested in getting as many different Pokemon as they can, and they need to use the stones to help achieve that. And if that's the case, their scientists may be trying to get as many DNA samples from those many different Pokemon.
And I can only think of one possibility.
Project Mewtwo.
If I had to choose which of the two stories I'd partake in, I'd choose the events of the Mewtwo movie rather than having to deal with the Masked Man. Plus that looks like it won't happen till a year or two till after my journey starts, from what I could see from the news.
As for the other regions, rumors of weirdly dressed people with some dressed in red while others blue have started to appear in Hoenn. Similarly, weird people dressed in spacesuit-like uniforms started to pop up in Sinnoh. White-blue robed knights also started appearing in Unova.
So that confirms Team Aqua and Team Magma, Team Galactic and Team Plasma...
I haven't found much of the teams found in the other regions, so I guess it's just mostly these four regions starting to pop up.
But that's it for the evil teams...If any of 'em come my way during my journey I'll deal with them appropriately, but I ain't no hero...I won't go actively searching out to destroy them. Like with Green too, if her birthday comes and goes with nothing happening, I won't pursue Team Rocket.
Those people weren't the only ones gathering either. Professor Oak had long since made his calls to several invitees to each region. I only heard recently but it turns out he invited several Professors too. It seems Professor Oak was intending to hold a seminar with fellow Professors, likely to see if any discoveries were made. Apparently he does this frequently as well, like how he has the Summer Camp twice a decade.
One event for the adults while the other is for the kids. As for me, I'm still a kid so of course I'll be doing the Summer Camp with the other kids. I'm looking forward to meeting more characters from the Pokemon-verse. Each region just has so many, it was hard to keep track of them all.
As for Summer Camp, the details of it have been finalized as well. It will contain fifteen spots, four of which are going to me, Gary, Green, and Ash. That meant 11 more spots would be open to other children.
As for the Professors, it looks like each Professor that received an invitation by Professor Oak accepted it and they will come. Professor Kukui will also come to chat with the pother Professors, despite being here earlier in the year.
In fact, one such Professor on the list had already arrived here in Kanto earlier today. This Professor was one of the newer Professors, who had just actually opened his own laboratory in Vermillion City.
As for why I would say that, well, it is because I'm staring at such a Professor here in Oak's Lab! My mouth was agape in shock, seeing this guy appear here so early.
"So it looks like you actually did make it, and early might I add. You're one of the newer Professors here popping up in Kanto, but I hope you'll be able to share your experiences with us when the seminar starts in a couple weeks.", Oak said while in the first floor of his lab near the entrance, with me next to him. He smiled, welcoming the Professor at our doorstep.
It appears he wasn't alone either. He nodded his head before replying.
"Yes. It is such an honor to receive an invitation from the famous Professor Oak. I recently passed my Professor Exam, and opened up Cerise Laboratory down in Vermillion City where my family stays. I would have brought my wife as well but she's looking out our baby son. So instead I brought my daughter and her friend to partake in the Summer Camp of yours."
"Hoho, it's good I gave you two spots then. They can go join with Itsuki during your stay here. I'm sure they'd become friends fast with him and the others. He is one of my two grandsons."
"Yes. You can call me Itsuki. I kind of work here at the lab with Grandpa. Who are you guys?", I asked with interest. I knew Cerise Lab very well though. It was the main hub of Pokemon Journeys!
"You're only a kid and already working in a lab? Impressive. It's nice to meet you, Itsuki. I go by Professor Cerise, or just Cerise for short. This here is my daughter and her friend. You two can introduce yourselves can't you?"
Hearing Professor Cerise introduce himself, the two smaller figures showed up beside him. One was a girl whole the other was a boy. The girl had magenta hair tied into a ponytail and forest green eyes. She wore a white shirt and light blue shorts. As for the boy, he had black hair with two ahoges sticking up. His hair also had three red hairclips on the side. He had teal eyes and wore a red-white t-shirt with a Gengar image on it and tan pants.
The girl was the first to speak, appearing a bit shy, while the boy was more energetic.
"H-Hello...My name is Chloe. It's nice to meet you." (A/N : Chloe is Koharu for those who watch Journeys in jp)
"Hi there! I'm Goh. I'm grateful for Uncle bringing us here to partake in the Summer Camp. Guess you're with us huh?"
I was still surprised seeing Chloe and Goh show up here, but then again they are in the same age group as Ash. Plus they live in Kanto.
Turns out Chloe and Goh from Pokemon Journeys are the first two of eleven participants to show up for Summer Camp. Waiting to see who the nine other spots will be is getting me excited!

A/N : Aht here. Here is the next chapter!
Fun fact, did you guys know Goh actually went to one of Oak's Summer Camps?
The one Goh went to was the one Ash decided to oversleep and missed it, so the two actually never met in Pallet Town. Well it will be different for this, as everyone be in this one.
I almost forgot about these two, so I brought them in.
Don't forget to keep dropping those power stones. May not reach 600 this week so let's aim for 500!
