"Then... what's that?" Misty exclaimed, realizing something was terribly wrong.
Behind the Rockets, the approaching Pikachu grew larger and larger. It wasn't Ash's Pikachu, but one that resembled the enormous Pokémon they had encountered before, like those monstrous creatures from the past.
"Let's get out of here!" Brock urgently signaled for Misty to run. Without a moment to spare, she followed. First, they'd escaped Kabutops, and now this giant Pikachu—it was almost too much to handle.
Just then, Jessie and James also caught up, and the four of them found themselves running side by side.
"A little girl? And her friends?" James sneered, noticing Misty and Brock.
"What are you two up to this time? Every time I see you, trouble follows!" Misty shouted at Jessie and James, still running.
"What did you say, twerp?" Jessie snapped back.
"I said, it's always bad news when I run into you!" Misty shot back without hesitation.
"Now's not the time for this!" James interrupted, panicking as he glanced back at the giant Pikachu, which was closing in fast.
"Hide over there!" Brock pointed to a large rock near the woods.
Without wasting any time, the four of them dove behind the rock, crouching low. Luckily, the Pikachu continued walking, unaware of their presence, allowing them to escape unharmed. All four breathed a collective sigh of relief.
"Phew... we're safe!" James exhaled in relief.
"Yeah!" Misty agreed absentmindedly, but then both groups quickly realized the situation. They leapt out from behind the rock, facing each other.
"Team Rocket! What kind of scheme are you up to this time?" Misty demanded angrily.
"Don't blame us, twerp. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't even be here!" Jessie shot back defensively.
"If you hadn't caused trouble on that ship, none of this would've happened!" Misty retorted, the tension rising as their old rivalry flared.
"Want to fight, little girl?" Jessie snarled.
"Bring it on! I'm not afraid!" Misty snapped, readying her Poké Ball. Brock, standing beside her, did the same. On the other side, Jessie gritted her teeth, prepared to fight back, but James quickly intervened.
"Jessie, wait! We don't have Meowth or Koffing with us!"
Jessie's expression changed instantly.
Right! When they were blown here, their Poké Balls were lost, leaving them without Ekans, Koffing, or Meowth. Jessie froze, realizing they were at a disadvantage.
Seeing this, Misty and Brock hesitated, not wanting to exploit the situation. But James, still worried, quickly changed the subject, hoping to avoid the conflict altogether.
"Where's that little devil?" Jessie grumbled.
"Ash went to find Pikachu and the others," Misty snapped, still angry. It was because of these two that Ash had been separated from them in the first place.
"So, the twerp's Pokémon are missing too. Looks like we're all in the same boat," James said, visibly relieved that Ash wasn't around. "Why don't we find the Pokémon and the twerp first, and *then* we can settle things?"
Misty and Brock, though frustrated, had no intention of taking advantage of the situation, especially without Ash around. Jessie, however, scowled, but knew better than to cause trouble without her Pokémon.
Suddenly, the sound of whirring propellers filled the air. Startled, the four looked up to see a helicopter descending toward them. A ladder dropped from the chopper, and a figure began climbing down.
As the figure reached the ground, a woman with red hair and elaborate makeup stepped forward. She wore a white dress with a black grid pattern, and on her shoulder was the unmistakable red "R" of Team Rocket.
"Looks like some pests have wandered in," she sneered.
Jessie and James were just as confused as Misty and Brock. They had no idea who this woman was, and Jessie, already irritated, bristled at being called a pest.
"Is this woman with you?" Misty asked, glancing uneasily at Jessie and James.
"Hmph! We don't know her!" Jessie crossed her arms and turned her head away, clearly annoyed.
The woman eyed Jessie and James with disdain. "What team are you with? What are you doing here?" she asked, her tone authoritative, clearly recognizing them as Team Rocket members.
Jessie, however, was not in the mood to be talked down to. "Who do you think you are? What we're doing here has nothing to do with you!" she spat, furious at the woman's condescending attitude.
The woman frowned deeply. She was used to lower-ranking members of Team Rocket showing respect, and Jessie's defiance clearly caught her off guard.
"My name is Ariana," the woman finally said, introducing herself. "Judging by your uniforms, you must be low-ranking grunts. No wonder you don't recognize me. This place is off-limits to the likes of you. You'll pay a price for barging in here."
It was now clear she was also a member of Team Rocket, but Jessie and James had no idea who she was.
"What did you just say?" Jessie fumed. "You think we're low-level? Don't get too full of yourself!" She looked ready to charge at Ariana, but James quickly grabbed her, trying to keep her from making things worse.
"Quit acting like you're in charge! You stole Pokémon on the S.S. Anne, and now you're up to something shady again, aren't you?" Misty accused, glaring at Ariana.
