B2 | Chapter 15
Aqua
The boss rises to its full height while its fangs begin to move inwards and then outwards again like it's hungry. All while focusing on my swarms of abyssal servants heading directly at it from the front.
Meanwhile I swim at a rapid speed in an arc around my servants to get a better look at the side of the enormous monster. Since I have no idea where its eyes might be from above it.
And as I move around towards the side of the massive monster, I watch the boss beginning to draw water into its mouth in the form of a large vacuum the moment it reaches its full height. Something it didn't do before.
Probably because it didn't need to. What with having reached the surface and all.
But now it's underwater. So nothing will just casually fall into its mouth without being drawn in.
My servants continue moving towards it as I finally make it far enough to see the side of the monster. Only to be greeted by a rather disturbing sight.
The thing has dozens upon dozens of eyes. All of which seem to have previously been covered by scales instead of eyelids.
This is disturbing…
To make matters worse, the eyes all lock onto me the moment I get in sight.
Then pressurized water missiles begin shooting out of each of its eyes towards me all at the same time.
Was not expecting that…
I quickly activate Pressure of the Abyss before pausing in my movements. And while summoning several large tentacles around me to create a bit of a barricade, I carefully focus on the missiles.
Please work…
I take in a deep breath before letting it out again.
Then I begin using Hydrokinetic Wrath to try taking control of the missiles of pressurized water the moment they get near me. And while I miss about half of them, that half all end up hitting the tentacles.
Leaving me completely unscathed after the barrage.
After the barrage finishes, I take a look at the tentacles around me. Only to find holes and gashes in them going straight through the scales and half of the tentacles themselves.
Oh, wow.
Those were powerful missiles.
Unfortunately it would take too much mana by a longshot to freely manipulate the monster's missiles. So I just send them flying straight back at the boss without controlling them beyond that. Then I use the tentacles to fling me straight at the boss behind the missiles.
All while the boss begins devouring my abyssal servants by the masses. With most of my servants barely even making a scratch on the boss' mouth when they attack it.
But I don't care about that. Not as I finally begin nearing the boss' eyes.
At which point I begin sending my own pressurized bullets made from the Pressure of the Abyss. Which is far more pressurized than the missiles the boss sent at me.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
Missiles that only manage to scratch the boss's scaled eyelids that close moments before the missiles hit.
And even my bullets only manage to scratch it a bit deeper than its missiles.
None of that matters though as when I get close to the monster, I activate my new mental attack skill.
Light of the Abyss.
Making a bright light shine from me directly into the boss' numerous eyes.
The boss lets out a loud roaring screech in pain. But I don't stop making my approach as I use my new Claw of the Abyssal Kraken skill to shapeshift my hand.
And I rapidly pump in over a hundred extra mana into the claw on top of the initial one hundred mana right before stabbing my claw downwards as the light begins to fade.
Revealing everything again right as my claw pierces into the dazed boss' eye. Stabbing into it and going deeper and deeper.
I grit my teeth from the feedback flowing through my arm. But even as I do that, I find myself grinning while pushing into the monster's body through the eye.
Not having to bother at all with its scales or exoskeleton in the process.
Maybe this boss won't be so hard to kill after-
My thoughts are interrupted when the monster begins shaking and screech roaring. And at the same time, I sense danger coming from behind me even as I continue digging through its massive eye with my claw.
I quickly summon tentacles to block the entrance to the eye I'm digging through. Only to sense something slamming into them.
Just like when missiles hit them before.
When my mana in the claw runs out and the claw stops digging right at the edge of the eye when it hits the exoskeleton around it, I turn to look at the tentacles. At which point I find them all shredded with several missiles breaking through them into the eye itself.
But I've gotten deep enough that all they end up doing are hurting the boss.
I let out a sigh at that sight. Then I focus on trying to dig into the boss' exoskeleton.
It doesn't work though. Even with the claw.
I frown at that.
At this point the thing's eye is completely ruined. But this is just one of its many eyes, so I doubt it cares all that much about it.
It's probably more upset about me being inside of its body than that.
Unfortunately though, I don't think I can break into this exoskeleton.
Even when the mana was still in the claw, it only made a small crack in its exoskeleton. And now that there isn't any mana in the claw and it's returned to its hooked form, it doesn't even scratch the boss' exoskeleton.
On another note, this thing's blood is black. Which likely means it really is undead.
I begin digging around its eye searching for any part of the eye socket's edge that might not be made of exoskeleton.
For any possible entry into its main body beyond its eye.
To my surprise, the monster suddenly begins roaring again without me even doing anything. Even when I pause in tearing up its eye. It just keeps roaring while moving around.
Huh… are my abyssal servants doing something?
I can't tell since I'm in its eye socket…
And to make matters worse, the boss closed its eyelid at some point. Locking me in here.
Which I'm not entirely sure is a good idea for it, but whatever.
I continue digging through its eye again before eventually finding what I'm looking for.
A small entrance in its exoskeleton that has veins and nerves running through it that were connected to the eye.
Good. Now I know how to get into its main body.
As I'm thinking this though, a problem arises.
I begin to feel sick and even vomit blood in the water. At which point I realize the monster's blood is probably poisonous or something.
And it's bad enough that it's outrunning my incredible regeneration speed.
I grit my teeth as my insides begin to feel like they're twisting up. But the monster's eyelid is closed, and I can't get out. And more importantly, the thing is too tough for me to kill from the outside.
So I'm going to have to deal with it from the inside.
With that thought in mind, I begin using several other skills all at once.
Pressure of the Abyss, my shapeshifting to shapeshift my mouth, and Hydrokinetic Wrath. Forming a pressurized layer of water over my fangs.
Then I latch my jaws onto the monster's exoskeleton where the veins and nerves are exiting the eye socket. And thanks to my incredible jaw strength on top of the pressurized water, my fangs manage to pierce into its exoskeleton.
I would use Abyssal Reversal, but I know without a doubt it won't work. Not with our massive level gap.
It barely works on monsters a dozen or so levels above me. There's no way it'll work on a monster almost fifty levels above me.
At this point it would just be a waste of mana to use it.
With that in mind, I try as hard as I can to jerk my mouth away from the exoskeleton.
And soon enough I'm rewarded with the sound of cracks beginning to form on the exoskeleton.
Let's see if I can kill this thing before its poisonous blood kills me.
