“It seems there are no particular issues. Regarding the manifestation or pheromones, treatment isn’t necessary. You just need to discuss the psychological treatment plan related to memory with CEO Lee.”
“Ah, yes…”
“For now, take a warm bath today and get plenty of rest.”
After Jaeha took Eunhong to the largest bathroom in the house, Professor Choi read through Eunhong’s results once more. He wasn’t mistaken. Not only a late manifestation but an extremely dominant omega. Professor Choi clicked his tongue with a troubled expression.
“It would have been really good if he hadn’t been exposed to other hospitals…”
Professor Choi, gathering his belongings, came out of the bedroom and looked for Jaeha. Jaeha was standing outside the bathroom where Eunhong was bathing, arms crossed. He looked like a dog waiting for its owner. Professor Choi swallowed hard again.
Just as Jaeha slightly furrowed his brow at Professor Choi’s subtle expression, the professor spoke:
“It will be hard to hide this from the Chairman. I think it might have already reached his ears.”
Professor Choi handed the results to Jaeha.
“It seems difficult to control the spread of this information… As you know, there are many people obsessed with bloodlines and such when it comes to high-grade traits. Before things get ugly…”
Jaeha, reading through the results, didn’t seem particularly surprised. He looked as if he had expected it. He only showed undisguised disgust at the mention of bloodlines. Professor Choi paused for a moment, choosing his words, then looked straight into Jaeha’s eyes and added:
“How about confessing boldly and getting married?”
Jaeha’s face suddenly crumpled. A strange expression, neither smiling nor crying, flared up.
“Have you lost your mind?”

Jaeha opened his third can of beer. About 30 minutes had passed since he had practically pushed Professor Choi out of the house. During that time, he had sat on the sofa and downed two beers in quick succession without any snacks. His stomach burned.
He was mechanically flipping through TV channels with the remote, but none of the content registered. Only Professor Choi’s words kept echoing in his ears.
‘Even high school students don’t do that these days. No, my grandson says even elementary school kids don’t do that.’
‘A man should have the guts to be straightforward, what’s the use of being scared and backing down?’
‘You should start having children soon to have a proper age gap for three kids. You and Eunhong are already 28, aren’t you? You’ll be 29 next year. Tsk tsk.’
Professor Choi seemed somehow excited. Like a matchmaker trying to arrange a marriage for a hopeless person, he was enthusiastically trying to push Jaeha. Do all people become like this when they get old?
“Meddlesome old man.”
Even as he muttered this, Jaeha’s ears turned bright red.
Scared and backing down, huh? That’s right. He was scared. Jaeha became afraid that Eunhong might suddenly remember everything and run away from him in shock.
It seemed like an hour had passed since Eunhong went into the bathroom, but he showed no signs of coming out. As Jaeha was anxiously peeking around, Eunhong finally opened the door and came out. Wearing the pink pajamas Jaeha had given him, with flushed cheeks and hair still damp, he grumbled at Jaeha who was standing there staring at him.
“Hey, Lee Jaeha. Be honest. These pajamas… you bought them to make fun of me, right? Didn’t I tell you not to waste money on teasing people?”
The light pink silk pajamas with gray piping around the collar suited Eunhong very well. Choosing shorts was a masterstroke.
No… should it be called a fatal mistake? Jaeha quickly averted his gaze. The sight of Eunhong’s white knees flushed pink was dizzying. Even the way he was pouting his lips while rubbing his hair dry was too stimulating. Jaeha squeezed his eyes shut and strode into the bathroom.
Eunhong was puzzled by Jaeha passing by without a word.
“Hm? Jaeha?”
“…”
“Were you drinking beer alone? Hm?”
“…Oh, just. Come here.”
Jaeha came out with a hair dryer and sat on the sofa. He called Eunhong to sit on the floor between his legs. As Eunhong obediently complied while grumbling that he couldn’t drink beer, Jaeha found it cute and ruffled his wet hair.
The hot air blew away the moisture. Eunhong’s scent also wafted up with it. Come to think of it, it seemed like a scent that was present even before his manifestation, and Jaeha unconsciously inhaled it. As he ran his fingers through Eunhong’s hair, drying it, Eunhong’s eyes began to droop. His head occasionally swayed as if he was drowsy.
“Is Bunhong sleepy?”
“Yeah. The floor is warm too, so I’m feeling lazy. I didn’t realize… my whole body aches after bathing.”
“…”
“Why… I wonder if I fell down some stairs somewhere.”
Jaeha, who had been keeping quiet and pretending not to know, was a bit surprised by this comment. It was possible that Eunhong really had fallen somewhere during the time Jaeha had lost track of him. Jaeha pulled on Eunhong’s shoulder.
“Let me see.”
“Huh? Ah, no. There are no bruises.”
Eunhong visibly startled and pulled his collar closed. The mottled skin under his nightwear was still clearly visible. He didn’t want Jaeha to see it. Only now did he understand why Jaeha had hidden his rut from him. The marks all over his body, like traces of animal mating, were even shameful.
As Eunhong became guarded, Jaeha inwardly sighed. Whether conscious or unconscious, it was clear that Eunhong wasn’t fond of that night. Jaeha didn’t feel good about the sense that Eunhong was trying to keep secrets from him.
Seeing Jaeha’s expression turn sour, Eunhong awkwardly tried to change the subject.
“Does body ache come with manifestation… My body feels really awful. I wonder if I can take anything besides the hospital medicine? Like cold medicine?”
“You must be tired, after so long…”
“So long?”
“Never mind. What did you decide about work?”
“I took a long vacation. They said it’s a special situation, so I can rest until the New Year. When I said I manifested, Shim AD was shocked. But he said he had expected it. He said he thought this would happen for a long time. Apparently, I’ve had a scent since long ago or something. Isn’t that funny?”
The hand drying Eunhong’s hair suddenly stopped. Feeling strange, Eunhong looked up, but Jaeha’s expression wasn’t good. His lips were pressed into a thin line as he looked down at Eunhong, looking quite serious. Eunhong reached up and fiddled with Jaeha’s lips.
“Why that expression?”
Jaeha narrowed his eyes. He roughly ruffled Eunhong’s hair with his hand.
“Just keep your head straight.”
***
The sun was high in the sky.
“Ahhhhh…”
Eunhong, who had woken up after sleeping soundly, made a dying sound. His whole body ached terribly. He thought he would believe it if someone told him he had been wrung out for two days straight. Eunhong stretched, pulling his aching muscles.
As he raised his arms straight up, his pajama top rode up, exposing his stomach. In the large full-length mirror attached to the bedroom, he thought he saw a Dalmatian puppy. Eunhong quickly pulled his disheveled clothes tight, covering his clearly spotted body.
“Damn, really. Perverted bastard… Even a dog wouldn’t chew someone up like this… Just wait till I catch you… Really.”
Eunhong muttered to himself while pressing down his messy hair reflected in the mirror. Yet, he felt strange.
Although it clearly happened to him, having no memory of it made him think about it as if it happened to someone else. It was odd that he felt neither upset nor angry. It felt like he was getting angry out of a sense of obligation that he should be angry. It also felt like someone was making up a story about something that never happened to him.
In fact, Eunhong still didn’t fully grasp the fact that he had become an omega with his manifestation. Only the marks left on his body remained as faint evidence of that event. If even these disappear, it would really be as if nothing happened. But is that okay?
“What should I do now…”
Eunhong rubbed his face hard due to his muddled thoughts.
His exploded hair wouldn’t settle down. It was because Jaeha had ruffled it too much yesterday. As he staggered into the living room, a delicious smell wafted through the air. Jaeha was standing in the kitchen. Oddly enough, he was holding a ladle in one hand.
“It smells savory. Is it beef soup? Looks delicious.”
“You’re up?”
Drawn by the smell of food, Eunhong approached Jaeha’s side but suddenly stopped, flinching. Jaeha, who had been watching without much thought, almost dropped the ladle he was holding when Eunhong suddenly buried his nose in his shoulder.
“Wow, I can definitely tell now. Wow…”
“…”
“Wow… This is amazing. So this is your pheromone. Look at its presence. Wow, it feels so good, Jaeha.”
It’s like a living scent. It’s so good. Eunhong kept muttering and sniffing as if entranced. He rubbed his nose tip below Jaeha’s collarbone. The warm scent from the firm, elastic muscles under the soft t-shirt rose up following the direction of his rubbing.
“I think I felt it faintly even before manifestation. It was dim then. But now it’s so clear.”
Me too, Jaeha thought but swallowed the words as he looked down at Eunhong. The fine hairs standing on Eunhong’s ear shell were particularly noticeable. He wanted to bite the thin, red flesh of the ear shell where capillaries were visible through the light.
“Is it this good because you’re an extremely dominant alpha? Or are all alphas like this?”
“I don’t know. I can’t tell if it’s good or bad because I’m an alpha. I like your scent, but I dislike all others.”
His voice was stiff. At that, Eunhong’s gaze moved to Jaeha’s face. He was red from his neck to his face.
“…Huh? D-don’t you know?”
Belatedly realizing his actions, Eunhong hurriedly backed away. His rolling eyes happened to land on Jaeha’s lower body. Eunhong’s eyes widened. What’s in your pants…
