Chapter 158: The Path of Creation (5)

"What do you mean by 'how to look'?" Linen was slightly taken aback.

"Across the way."

Linen glanced across and then understood what the other person meant. Thinking for a moment, he replied, "Quite a powerful Alchemist, but what a pity."

"What a pity?" Rolin turned his head to ask.

"The pity is that in today's Colin Ishurian, Alchemy is always plagued by power struggles," Linen shrugged, "Honestly, I'd love to join you and him in this Continental League match. I'm not interested in anything else."

Rolin chuckled a bit.

Then he coughed heavily twice, spread his hands apart, glanced at them, and then silently closed his palms.

Linen observed this scene, couldn't help but ask, "Are you okay?"

Rolin hesitated, seemingly remembering something.

But he just smiled and gently shook his head.

On the other side of the arena, Ande was looking at his old partner with annoyance.

"Phales, if you want to help," he couldn't help but say, "then you shouldn't make trouble by choosing these inexplicable domains."

"What do you mean?" The Dwarf feigned ignorance, looking back at him.

Their relationship seemed to have flipped at this moment.

Ande was so angry that he enunciated each word, "Don't you know, the designs of the Main Constructs are all held by the major Alchemy guilds. Where is he as a young man supposed to learn to make Main Constructs?"

"Isn't Rolin in the same position?"

"But he has the backing of the Elfendo Council, have you gone mad learning Alchemy, I say old fellow?"

"Isn't Ade your student too?"

Ande opened his mouth wide, momentarily speechless.

Phales looked at him with an amused expression, "Do you really think he wouldn't know?"

"Of course," Ande retorted in anger, "wouldn't I know?"

Phales shook his head, "You're not necessarily clear on this, old friend, just wait and see."

"What did you say?"

"Nothing."

Phales just silently observed the arena.

In that place, Zheng Yongzai and Soul Fingerprint were a bit at a loss looking at Fang Hong—the latter had been immobile since falling into thought earlier, up till now.

Like a statue.

The young man from the MVP club could only look towards Soul Fingerprint beside him, using his eyes to ask whether he should remind the other party. Because up till this point, five whole minutes of the match had already passed.

He looked across and saw that the basic framework on Rolin's side was already set up.

But Soul Fingerprint shook her head.

She understood that Fang Hong was capturing that fleeting inspiration—

In fact, it was true, what kept replaying in Fang Hong's mind at that moment was his experience in the Hall of Thousand Doors.

He couldn't help but ask himself, what exactly is a Main Construct? Is it merely the highest embodiment of multi-coordinated devices? A perfect display of calculative power? Or the fearsome title of the Pseudo Dragon Knight?

But a voice in his heart told him, all of this was not it.

They were not the core manifestation of the Immortal Knight.

And in a mysterious way, Fang Hong discerned the owner of that voice—it was that elegant Giant Dragon of the Holy Bow Peak, the owner of the Fairy Residence of Mierliu Ximi Si, master of Nevade.

Yet in his memories, behind this string of long titles, was merely a somewhat elegant and quiet scholar, a graceful silver-haired Elf, an eloquent storyteller of the long river of Alchemy history—

Mr. Anluose.

He understood that he was not the inheritor of the Immortal Knight's school, and his understanding of that school was next to nil.

But the essence of Alchemy is consistent.

"Ade, you must remember this point."

"A truly outstanding craftsman must not be confined by his limitations—"

"To always follow the path of predecessors would keep Alchemy confined to a narrow framework forever."

"The heritage of the Elves, its essence is always just heritage."

"Everything you learn today, the true meaning is to enlighten the path of the future."

"You must understand that today's Alchemy is actually not inferior to the splendor of the Numelin Era, perhaps even surpassing it."

"Do you know why this is?"

"It is because the truth of Alchemy—lies in Creation."

A flash seemed to cross Fang Hong's mind, like an inexplicable thrill, letting him vaguely grasp something.

He gently lifted his hand, inadvertently touching an object on his chest.

It was a metal fragment carried close to his body, which came tumbling out from under his coat along with his unintentional movement—in the eyes of anyone unaware of its origins, it seemed only a part of a broken sword blade.

Only its surface was smooth like a mirror, shimmering with light.

And as Fang Hong gazed at this fragment, his heart seemed to travel back in time.

He closed his eyes.

The encounter with the Morning Dawn Star emerged from the depths of his memory.

The grievances of Dolifen's souls, they seemed still to speak of stories behind that old time.

And the thousand-year Empire beneath Fenris Isle, the years sealed underneath history, the bygone days flowing silently in darkness.

They seemed to collectively narrate a similar sentiment—

He opened his eyes, looking at the vast plaza, yet in the center of this dense crowd, the people who truly supported him were actually just the few behind him.

At that moment, he suddenly realized what kind of enemy he had to face.

And the matured scar in his heart seemed to finally awaken—

Letting him comprehend that empathetic understanding.

Sorrow.
