Chapter 19: One Kiss To Forge
As Su Yan sat beside Xie Lian, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "Wait for a while, and don't disturb me while I'm meditating," he warned.
Yin-Yang Unification Art was great and all, but it was too complex to transmit verbally. He had to find something that could help facilitate the task. As his mind spread in the Wisp Realm, a desire was born. From all corners, wisps started rolling around him.
Su Yan swept his gaze among the plethora of wisps gathered around him and selected one randomly. This one was called Soul Impartation Art, and it allowed one to sever a piece of their soul alongside the memories and experiences it carried and pass it along to someone else. It was a great method if you wanted to leave behind a legacy. Unfortunately, he lacked the required cultivation to use this art, not to mention the harm it would do him.
He immediately discarded it and focused on others. This one required for a supplementary alchemy product; specifically, it required a pill called the Soul Synchronicity Pill. It would allow a seamless transition and effectively limitless, well, technically as long as the effects of the pill lasted. Needless to say Su Yan discarded it also.
As he went through one by one, he realized each one posed a limitation of some kind, in one way or another. At last he turned his gaze at a small wisp and pulled at it. As the wave of the information passed into him, he realized what this particular method required. For one's spirit and mind to be in sync with their partner.
Su Yan sighed. It would seem there was no easier method. Then he recalled the description once more. 'Spirit and Mind to be in Sync,' he thought, 'wait a minute, wasn't there something similar in Yin-Yang Unification Art?'.
As he pulled that information ingrained into his mind, he read the part where the result of his concern lay. And there it was.
Yin-Yang Unification Art was truly fascinating. There was a method mentioned to initiate the three phases of unification, and there was the preface that he had previously not bothered to pay much attention to. But now that he looked it over, he realized what he had missed. The base, he had totally overlooked the foundation.
Before one marches into Prime Unification, there was something called Dao Binding. It was an illusive bond between the two partners that allowed for the cross and merger of their mind, body, and spirit. And initiating a Dao Binding was easy enough. It required an oath to the heavens and to oneself and, at last, to their partner.
A smile bloomed on his face as he read the description, and he opened his eyes. He found Xie Lian's face hovering so close to his that he could see the flecks of darker blue in her pupils. Her face flushed, and she pulled back.
"Ahem." She made to cough, but it came out as clearing her throat. "I see that you finished your meditation. And judging by your smile, should I make a guess that you succeeded in whatever you were doing?"
Su Yan smiled widely. "Yes, of course." He then paused, taking her hand in his. "Now, remember I told you about this method that allows for faster cultivation if two partners are involved?" She nodded. "Well, to learn the technique we have to initiate the bond."
"And how does that go?"
"Simple really, we kiss and focus on each other. And forget everything else. Just you and me."
"Sounds weird." She scrunched her nose. "If this is an excuse to kiss me, then you don't really have to do that."
Su Yan fought the twitch of his eye and considered her words. Now that he thought about it, it really did sound weird, trite even. Though when he read the information, it didn't sound that bad, so maybe he failed to convey his intentions properly.
"Okay, let me explain a bit more. Basically, it requires our minds to be in sync so that we are thinking the same thing. Kissing brings our bodies in sync by exchanging bodily fluids and marking each other. Our souls are known to possess instincts that so easily crossover and tangle. Form a bond or whatever. You get the gist, right?"
Xie Lian nodded. "So, we have to kiss?" She asked.
Su Yan nodded. "Yes."
"Okay, I'm going to take a bath first." She looked down at her clothes, noticing the caked mud and dirt stains. "Or maybe we could do this another time?"
"Hey." He forced her to look at him. "If it's because you aren't looking very graceful at the moment, then don't worry. I don't care about how you look; besides, it doesn't bother me."
She narrowed her eyes but nodded eventually.
"Alright, then." He closed the distance between them and met her gaze. He could feel her breath hitch slightly, this no doubt being her first time. He brought forth his hand to cup her face and shifted even closer.
At this distance he could even feel her hot breath tickle his lips; her beautiful and charming eyes were half-lidded. She looked to be the most beautiful creature in his eyes at that very moment, and he could resist no longer.
As their lips met, a soft sensation pressed against his. He felt his heart race, like nothing before. At that time Su Yan realized he more than liked this girl before him, and a desire was birthed.
He didn't let him get lost in the heat of the moment, though, using the method described in the cultivation art. A searing hot feeling emerged from his belly, and he felt a cold radiate from Xie Lian's lips. Her eyes were fully wide now, but she didn't push back. Instead her kiss grew more forceful, more passionate.
Su Yan welcomed the heat, allowing it to pass from his lips and into her. Her mouth opened voluntarily to take his tongue inside. A messy and wet dance unfolded as his tongue tangled with hers. A frigid cold invaded his body, but it provided no discomfort.
He felt her arms circle around his back, her body almost pressed into his. She was looking at him with misty eyes and a flushed face. He pushed her back and almost fell on top of her, but he resisted. His forged will allowing him to resist the temptation.
"Repeat after me," Su Yan said; Xie Lian nodded absentmindedly, "One Heart, One Spirit, One Path, One Truth. Bound by Dao, Eternal Flame. Harmony Forever, Timeless Bond."
As the effect settled, Su Yan felt a heavy sensation within his body. It lasted only a moment before fading, and with it all the rush and heat.
"A Bond For Eternity." He mumbled.
