Chapter 342: The Port In The New Continent.

"Hm?" The Angel questioned, stopping before glancing around. "I was sure that I Felt his presence… Seems like he caught on…" She added.

She slowly descended into the wasteland, her back turned to a giant wolf monster who had lunged at her on the opportunity.

"It isn't a problem. I know he's close. No matter what it takes, I must kill him before my father does." She spoke before glancing back.

The wolf almost five times her size which had it's mouth open, displaying it's razor sharp fangs could be seen only inches away from her head.

"Begone."

*Shzing*

The wolf's fangs were suddenly cut off into tiny little pieces, at that moment the cuts spread throughout it's face and in an intent.

*Splatter*

It burst just as she had placed her hand on it.

"We've finally reached the a village… FINALLY!" Said Hexo with a joyful smile.

The group had gotten past the guards and thankfully reached the village safely. John's new dimension cube was able to keep them completely hidden while the platform carried them throughout the journey.

Unexpectedly, it was a port village. They had assumed it was a wasteland all around so they didn't expect to actually see the ocean again this soon. They had flown over it for long enough to have reached the point where they had gotten sick of it.

The fresh ocean breeze and scent was always a positive however. The group had expected an old run down village but boy were they surprised. It wasn't anything extravagant, just a simple village like the ones from the main continent.

Stone houses like the ones from the Victorian times, restaurants and countless other facilities including the adventurers guild and such. But that was precisely what made it surprising.

With how the continent was, they expected something much more… Outdated. Things here were surprisingly similar to there. They were next to a port which was also a plus, having water would allow them to properly cultivate their crops and other necessities.

There were a few differences however, the security for example was much heavier. The city was surrounded by tall stone walls with spikes pointed.

The walls had countless guards on top, always on stand-by. Just to get in they had to wait almost an hour to confirm that their adventurers ID was real and not fake because of how high their ranks were. Fortunately not much attention was brought to it as a request from Satire.

Another difference was the number of demi humans. Unlike in the main continent, the majority of population here were demi-humans. From cat men, to beast men, lizard man, wolf men… The range was vast.

John encountered humanoid races he had never known existed. It was the first time that John was in a place with so many non-humans. The joy in their faces was a rather positive sight, usually whenever he'd see demi-humans, they were either, depressed, slaves or both.

To see them being treated normally, it was definitely enough to put a smile on his face without him realizing it.

"Finally… Finally a proper shower!!" Satire shouted, with tears flowing down her eyes as she looked down the roads, pointing at a spa.

"Umu." Nodded Shera whilst she was crouched in front of the weapon store.

John who was there, also seemed curious regarding the store. If there were more demi-humans than the same logic would apply to dwarfs. Dwarfs were incredibly skilled in their ability to craft.

Unfortunately they were rare to come across in the main or magical continent where he had been. The most skilled blacksmith he had met was the one he had seen when he first started adventuring.

Looking at the weapon stores, he found himself recalling and wondering how he was doing. Recalling that however, brought the visions back. Even though in his possessed seal state he didn't feel emotions, he could feel the seal weakening.

The seal was double sided, although it blocked off his presence, while also limiting his magical power. It severed the connection with Zestari and his emotions.

Recently however, he could feel his emotions slowly start to return, was it because he was growing stronger? Or maybe something even more?

"Let's all meet up in front of that inn. I'm sure we're all excited to go do our own things, right?" Hexo asked with an excited smile.

The three agreed as their passion as adventures was lit up by the possibility of discovering new culture.

"Then, Shera you're coming with me, we're going shopping."

Shera's eyes which were sparkling as she watched the weapons on display at the weapon stores slowly grew watery as Satire dragged her towards her own location.

"No…" Shera shook her head desperately, her hand stretched towards the store.

"Shera, you must do this now. The weapon store won't disappear, after we're done I'll buy you any weapon you want."

"Really?" Shera asked, her eyes lit up as she looked at Satire.

"Y-Yeah…" Satire replied, praying that she wouldn't ask for anything too expensive.

Hexo watched with a smile as they faded into the distance. "Hey, bro… Don't you think Shera is the cutest thing ever?" He asked with dreamy eyes.

Without replying, John looked at Hexo before pointing at them and said. "They forgot the money."

A large storm could be felt as the ship drew closer and closer towards the continent. The strong waves, the rushing winds and cold breeze. The ones ahead of the ship, keeping everything safe were the crew, a young girl and her follower.

"So…? You sure you don't want us to kill the pirates?" The crew captain asked.

"We can sell them off at the port. I have no money, you see." The girl replied with a straight face.

Upon hearing this, the crew captain snorted before looking up at the storm. The whole ship was swaying violently and yet they were both somehow perfectly balanced.

"Never in all my years as a sailor have I met someone like you. To deal with an blizzard princess, and a group of pirates all by yourself… I offer you all my thanks, if it's money you need, then we can help with that." Said the crew captain before bowing before her.

"There's no need to thank me, please raise your head. You and your crew risked your lives to keep the people safe. I didn't do much." She replied with a smile as she helped him up.

The crew captain who heard this, hung his head and rubbed his eyes before muttering with a trembling voice.. "T-Thank you… To also be so humble… M-May I ask what is your name?" He asked.

"I'll get shy if you put it like that." Replied the girl with a kind smile. She proceeded to look up at the sky, stretching her hands towards the dark rainy clouds before adding. "I'm Serena, May I ask what your name is?"

"Serena… That's a lovely name. The name's Lake. Nice to meet you Serena."

"Likewise, Lake." Serena replied. "Lake, do you know how much longer it'll take for us to reach Diabla?" She asked, whilst turning up ahead.

"At this rate, we'll get there by tomorrow… With how strong the storm is, we need to tread carefully throughout here. Is there any particular reason you're asking?" He added.

"Not really… I was just wondering…" She replied staring off at the distance.

John could be seen walking throughout the city on his own, whilst doing so he secretly played around with his new spell.

Dimension cube. It was the only dimensional spell he could materialize. The theory behind it is simple so it wasn't all that hard to get the hang of using.

He looked over at his spatial storage ring ignoring the gazes of the people.

"Hey… That guy is wearing a blindfold, how can he see?"

"A human, don't ask me, even I don't know what they're thinking."

"He's probably chugged a few bottles down. He'll be better in the morning."

As expected, he was getting attention from his appearance. John stopped in front of the store before turning to a window. Because of the blindfold he couldn't exactly see his reflection, but he could picture it.

He had worn the very same set of clothes for the past year, maybe now was the time for a change. His Armour was worn out from overuse, the stitches on the soles on his shoes were coming off again.

The bandages on his arm were worn out and slightly brown even though they were the only set which he had recently replaced.

Either way, the point was that he looked horrible. It wasn't something that he seemed to care about when traveling alone, but at least with Satire, Hexo and Shera, he should put in some effort.

Fortunately for John he was standing right ahead of a clothes store.

Without saying anything, he walked inside. After all it wouldn't have hurt to try something new.

"Perhaps I should try searching each individual human settlement?" The angel asked before turning her head east. "Perhaps I should start with the closest one."
