Chapter 160: Chapter 160: Does Doflamingo Want to Join In Too?
After breakfast, the sun was shining brightly, a gentle breeze was blowing, and the clouds in the sky seemed close enough to touch.
The members of the Dream Crew, unable to stay idle, wandered around Sky Island, each following their own interests.
The various shell-based items on Sky Island made everyone very curious.
Ryuen, however, stayed behind at Angel Beach, lounging comfortably on a soft cloud chair while enjoying the beautiful ocean view.
He watched as Nami raced across the White Sea on a Waver, feeling a bit envious.
That thing was way too hard to control.
"This is so fun! Ryuen, do you want to try it too?" Nami's excited voice echoed from the distance.
Ryuen turned his head, smiling as he looked at her.
"What? You want me to ride with you? Sure, I'm coming over!"
"Ride your own! If you ride with me, you'll definitely try something sneaky. No way~" Nami winked playfully and laughed.
Ryuen shrugged helplessly, knowing she was just messing with him.
"Purururu~~"
Just then, the Den Den Mushi on the cloud chair rang. Ryuen glanced over and saw that it was the one connected to Lindgas.
He picked it up, a little puzzled. Did something else happen?
"Lindgas, what now?" Ryuen frowned slightly, his tone calm.
Lindgas' anxious voice came through the receiver.
"Ryuen-sama, I'm reporting some news. Isred has instructed the World Government to review your expedition activities.
They're trying to use this as an excuse to revoke your exploration rights and strip you of your official status.
Once that happens, they'll order the Marines to come after you.
I'm really sorry, Ryuen-sama. I couldn't stop them this time. The forces they've gathered are too strong."
Lindgas was seething with hatred toward Isred.
Originally, because of the Dream Exploration Team's achievement in mapping the world, his status in Mary Geoise had risen significantly.
But then, Isred suddenly stepped in, and everything Lindgas had worked for was instantly erased, as if he was back to square one.
Ryuen remained calm.
Ever since Lindgas had warned him that he couldn't provide protection anymore, Ryuen had already expected someone to target their official status.
"I see. I'll take care of it. Anything else?" he asked flatly.
"There's one more thing—Isred seems to have teamed up with Doflamingo to deal with you.
I don't have the full details yet, but I'll do my best to gather more intel."
"Doflamingo, huh... Alright, I got it."
*Click.*
He hung up and continued watching Nami race across the White Sea, looking completely unbothered.
By now, the Dream Exploration Team had built up real power.
Anyone who tried to go against them would meet only two possible fates—either they ended up like Lindgas, becoming their pawn, or they died.
As for Doflamingo, he probably wouldn't be lucky enough to become their pawn.
After all, Ryuen knew about the Op-Op Fruit's ability to remove a person's heart while keeping them alive.
And right now, he didn't want Daisy's abilities to be exposed.
So, for Doflamingo and his crew... they'd have to be taken out early.
"Ryuen, we're back! Look, we traded for a bunch of weird shells! Like this Flame Dial—it's even better than an oven!"
Anya's cheerful voice rang out as she, Leah, and Daisy returned.
Ryuen's interest was piqued.
The special shell-based technology of Sky Island could be really useful in making their lives easier.
"Let me see~" Ryuen smiled and reached out to take the handful of shells Anya handed him.
"I'm so jealous of Nami... Anya, let's go practice riding a Waver too!" Leah said, watching Nami speed across the White Sea with envy.
"Good idea! I'll go ask Pagaya if we can borrow one!" Anya's eyes lit up.
"I'll go too!" Leah immediately followed.
"Nojiko, Kaya, and Rika are still exploring the forest in Upper Yard?" Daisy lay comfortably on a cloud chair next to Ryuen, asking curiously.
"Yeah, they should be having a great time in the forest," Ryuen answered while playing with a shell in his hand.
"They must have gone to find that giant snake. I never thought there would be such a huge snake on Sky Island.
By the way, Ryuen, when are we leaving Sky Island?" Daisy asked again in her crisp voice.
"We'll leave once Robin finishes her work. She said there are many historical ruins in Upper Yard that she needs to study, so it'll probably take her a few more days," Ryuen answered casually.
"Oh, I see.
Nami, I want to ride a Waver too! Take me with you!" Daisy said excitedly before running toward the White Sea.
Among the nine members of the Dream Crew, only Nami could handle a Waver easily. The others were still learning.
That made everyone else pretty jealous.
Soon, Anya and Leah borrowed a Waver from Pagaya's house and started practicing on the White Sea, wobbling as they went.
"Hey!"
"Big brother, what are you doing?"
Aisa suddenly appeared, startling Ryuen so much that he dropped the shell in his hand.
"Hey! You little brat, are you not afraid that I'll hit you?" Ryuen glared at Aisa and said in a threatening tone.
"Hee hee hee~~~
I know you're just trying to scare me. Besides, if you hit me, I'll tell Nami!" Aisa giggled with an innocent look.
"Alright, fine. What do you want?" Ryuen asked impatiently.
"Um… big brother, can I leave Sky Island with you guys and go to the Blue Sea?" Aisa hesitated before speaking, looking at Ryuen with hopeful eyes.
"No way. Give up on that idea," Ryuen replied flatly.
He couldn't believe this little girl had the guts to ask him to take her to sea. He was sure Laqi had no idea about this!
"Uwaaah~~~"
"Nami! Ryuen is bullying me!" Aisa cried as she ran toward the White Sea with teary eyes.
Ryuen ignored her and went back to studying the strange shells in front of him.
Aisa was just a little kid—there was no way he would take her out to sea, especially since she was a Shandia.
