Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead

Chapter 1052: Seeking Advice

After the great rescue, the Peaceful Realm, true to its moniker, entered a state of lull, apart from Griar, no one had any reason to even think about stepping into another realm, and even less reasons to willingly get anywhere close to the undead, everyone was simply content on living, having friends to talk to, practising their hobbies, or starting families…

No one held any hope of standing up to the Undead Empire anymore, they had every advantage to do so in the Emerald Realm, and still experienced a crushing defeat, now that their numbers were further lowered, and the undeads, in turn, only grew exponentially stronger, the only logical thing to do was simply enjoy the peace they had been granted, if Death was going to claim them, then it was going to do so when their lifespan naturally exhausted.

That was how the majority of the escapees thought, of course, some still couldn't help but train and sharpen their blades, just in case, but it was more of a habit that they could not rid themselves off…

Griar bringing back Flor had been a bit of a sensation at the time, the men congratulated him for his chivalrous spirit and sheer focus to rescue the woman he loved, whilst the women scrutinised and interrogated Flor like she was a wanted criminal.

Griar had expected it from his sisters and mother, it was to be expected, but it was far from limited to them, indeed, he had not realised that he was everyone's little darling…

But this all eventually came to an end relatively swiftly.

Now, Griar had to focus on something far more important, something he had not dared to think about until it was too late, which was, actually seducing Flor!

After all, last time he had met her, he had been a little child, and she had barely been a teenager, so of course, as much as she was nice to him, that had just been her caring for a lost child and nothing more, in essence, there was no reason to expect her to fall in love with him, especially after spending so many years apart, Flor had been standing by Lady Fe's side for much longer than anyone else's, so there was a worry that the cult leader and the other priestesses were actually family to her at this point.

Thankfully, Flor did not appear to mind that she had been taken to another realm, so it seemed that her relationship with those in the Stagnant Realm were not so deep- Another piece of good news was that she had immediately recognised Griar despite the years apart and him having grown up.

So he was not too pessimistic about his chances.

Now that he was a young man, no longer a little child, and that Flor was an adult now as well, after being well-fed, the girl he had fallen in love with looked radiant, she had already been pretty even when abnormally skinny due to malnutrition.

But now, it was on a completely different level, maybe his affection was making him imagine her as more attractive than she truly was, but he didn't care about such reflections.

Flor was a rather short woman- Or rather, she looked short compared to what Griar was used to, in truth, she was of average size for a girl, it was just that he was surrounded by tall women, so his perspective on what was 'average' was completely skewed.

Also, due to most of the women he knew being warriors, he felt that she look incredibly frail, when once again, this was just how a regular woman was supposed to look, most people did not train everyday to crack skulls or break bones, that was actually a rather niche activity in the grand scheme of things.

So, in an attempt to understand the mind of a woman, he attempted to ask for advice from women who had, or were, a bit more traditional in how they were, starting with his sisters, minus Lizi and Louizon.

The twins, Zaya and Zally, who most could only differentiate by the different colour they wore, red for Zaya and blue for Zally.

Both held an affinity for nature magic, and it was thanks to their assistance that the people of this realm were swimming in food, crops could grow at a visible pace under their influence, trees bore fruits at an exceptional rate, and they could even save things that were plagued by disease or parasites with a single spell, the Peaceful Realm bloomed and thrived under their influence, mostly using their magic in that sense, even though Louizon would rather see them summon a tornado.

The cute twins were twenty years old now, bonafide young women who were greatly admired by the masculine younger generation, so Griar reasoned that they would be able to tell him a thing or two about romance, unlike Lizi and Louizon, who were possibly the most oblivious women he knew, their suitors could anything, neither seemed to understand a single thing.

Griar would almost feel bad for those guys if watching them fail repeatedly wasn't so hilarious.

"You want to understand what she thinks better?" began Zaya.

"Just give up, you will never truly be able to read her mind, you need to act on instinct!" said Zally.

"Zally is right, a woman's mind in an impenetrable fortress full of confusing hallways and traps! Reason and pondering will not get you anywhere, focus on what you feel"

"Zaya is absolutely correct! Just get in there, and if it seems like she's interested, just go ahead and kiss her!"

Griar blinked a few times.

"I feel like that's a bad idea, what if I misjudge?"

"Don't worry so much, I am sure she likes you already anyways!"

"Yep, just get in there and claim what's rightfully yours! It's not like she can re-"

"Alright, I'll go ask someone else" seems like the twins had a very specific view on how things worked… Perhaps it was because of their affinity to nature that they thought one's instincts prevailed over reasoning in certain matters.

They were basically telling him that he should be more like a wild animal, and just take his 'female', and that everything would be alright, because that was how things worked in nature.

Humans were a bit more complex than your average animal or beast however, so he decided to ask his other sister.

Since the two oldest siblings were not even considered in the first place, this only left Alize, who possessed an enormous affinity for charm magic, and even had a mana trait that turned her inner mana into charm mana…

If she was anything like Zaya and Zally in that regard, then she should have natural insights into how relationships between a man and a woman were supposed to work…
