Chapter 1049: Versatility
Overall, there were now nine different vampires with their unique blood awakened, the four original vampire lords, the three vampirelings Nosferatu had taken under his wing, as well as the more recent, Maiele Liameilos and One.
In total, there were ten different types of vampires, if one did not count the lordless vampires, it seemed like the Sunwalker lineage would eventually disappear completely, many of them had already sworn allegiance to the queen instead, their blood overwritten, losing nothing and only gaining, for the main attractive features of Sunwalker's blood was the ability to move during the day, an ability that was also shared by Queen Liameilos, and since she accepted undeath and actually bothered to train her vampiric blood, the powers that came alongside it were also far greater than anything any of the sunwalking vampires had ever experienced.
Now, there was a second vampire whose blood possessed immunity to vampirekind's greatest weakness.
Although, Loimos could tell that this immunity was a side effect of One having been a sun walking vampire before awakening her blood, she somehow managed to hold onto that boon even as the blood within her was transformed and changed into something new, because from what everyone could tell, her abilities had nothing to do with light, the sun, or anything even remotely related to that.
Currently, Loimos, Maliah, and One were inside a nice piece of architecture within the realm Loimos had picked to run some tests, it was the main building of a human settlement, the settlement had been decently powerful, at least in the grand scheme of things, but before the three undeads, they had been as helpless as newborn infants, the knights and warriors saw their resolve falter and turn to despair when Loimos merely unleashed a sliver of his presence, and the mages found themselves unable to even circulate their inner energies as the even the energy within them, attuned to their person's froze and listened to the pure undead's will.
The settlement was defeated the moment Loimos decided to strike.
The livings were corralled into the main structure, remaining frozen in place under the skeleton's influence, unable to do anything as One made her first attempt to harvest the unique powers of her new sanguine powers.
First of all, the blood mist she could create and turn into had received a massive boost, One could now use it with remarkable ease, as well as extend the pink mist to cover a wide area, it seemed like this particular ability was the heart of her newfound powers.
She struggled a bit to figure out what to do at first, trying a whole bunch of things, attempting to imitate the other vampire lords to no avail, her repeated tries looked a bit ridiculous as One utterly lacked the gravitas one would expect from a vampire lord, which she now technically was as she could start her own group of followers.
Instead, she made erratic and random movements whilst making noises, like it would help her.
It might have been comical to the livings, if they were not frozen stiff with terror, the looming certainty of death hovering right above their heads.
In fact, the only one that seemed even remotely amused right now, was Maliah, and it wasn't because of One, the ambient despair from the livings was just putting her in a good mood, perhaps she should discuss with Multaemanus, it seemed like she could benefit from learning how to devour despair…
"Try manifesting some blood mist" said Loimos, already having a clue what One's vampiric blood might be all about, the vampire immediately did as told, and tried to channel something through the mist.
Nothing happened, but her expression shifted as she felt that it was the right direction, whatever it was that she could do, it seemed like it had to be channelled through blood, rather than shaping or manipulating the sanguine liquid, it had to be used like a catalyst.
And a few minutes later, a living that was caught within the mist emitted a stifled groan, his muscles contracting so violently that they prevented him from breathing, he fell over lifelessly soon after.
"Mmh? That looked a whole lot like…" One did not finish her sentence and instead directed the most to another living, who instead of being suffocated, instead began to bleed out of their pores until death ensued, another one dropped dead as their blood found itself incapable of transporting oxygen throughout their body, and then, another sudden mutated turning into some sort of werewolf-like abomination, before swiftly collapsing as something collapsed within their brain…
One puffed her chest, put her hand on her hips, chin raised high.
"I will call my blood- The Alchemical Blood!" she declared, seemingly very proud of the name.
The power of her blood was very simple, it seemed like every substance brewed through alchemy that she had ever come into contact with, could be infused and empowered into her blood, since she was an accomplished alchemist herself, this meant that theoretically, the amount of different things she could inflict through her blood was unlimited.
As long as she, or anyone else, could brew something, she could gain permanent access to the effects.
Although not limited solely to it, her blood mist was especially effective in using that ability, as mere contact with a drop suspended through the air would be enough, furthermore, it wasn't solely about inflicting damage, she could also use recipes on allies to help them, or even channel certain effects directly through the blood within her to empower herself.
Not to mention that her resistance to any substance brewed through alchemy had gone through the roof, even if someone created an anti-undead potion, she would be able to take it right to the face with barely any damage.
It was a very versatile ability, and one that could keep on growing without stop, although she was still far from being a gravelord, with such a handy power, it made little doubt that she had the ability to rise to that rank eventually.
One had become powerful, but the strength itself wasn't what made the gears in her mind churn right now.
'If I can integrate the effects of anything I brew, and empower them at that… Then even if my strength is not enough, I could create something that would help me handle his festering death!' she was so excited about the prospect that she bit her own hand.
"Aahahah! This is it! I'll carry his undeadlings! Dozens- No! Hundreds of thousands of them!"
"...I know it is rich coming from me, but she is batshit insane" said Maliah.
Loimos said nothing.
