Chapter 570 - 570: Swallowing Millions of Souls

Chapter 570: Chapter 570: Swallowing Millions of Souls

The ominous Haotian caused a stir as he barged into the Spirit Realm!

At this moment, countless people rushed to the Golden Giant Gate, among them some wrapped in Divine Fire, burning fiercely—these were not ordinary Deities!

Moreover, there were true young Supremes who came upon hearing of Haotian’s battle achievements, all rushing to witness and conduct Suppression.

Unfortunately, they were too late, as Shi Hao had already left.

“Let’s go down and take a look!” someone suggested.

A blue lotus spanned the sky, carrying a woman who descended onto the Copper Sparrow Altar, the first to act. Many people exclaimed in surprise that it was Qingxian, taking action in place of her brother, stepping on the path leading to the Lower Realm.

...

This path did not allow for flight; one must walk down.

Next, creatures igniting divine flames also descended, turning into divine light and charging down the path.

Soon after, the crowd exclaimed again,

“Zhen Gu of the spirit race has come, holding the Coagulated Blood Spear that can pierce through anything in its path!”

A golden figure flashed and disappeared onto the altar, surging downward.

“Teng Yi has truly arrived, my heavens, indeed he has forged great Cause and Effect, he wants to fight the ominous being one-on-one!”

On this day, the Spirit Realm trembled, and Celestial Immortal State was in an uproar as many powerful beings and adults hurried toward the Copper Sparrow Altar, then descended along the ancient path.

Shi Hao’s robes fluttered as he descended from the sky along the long path, much faster than he had ascended, while the people of the Realm of Virtual Gods on that huge mountain had long retreated.

Today, witnessing such a battle was shocking; such a battlefield existed in the heavens, making this journey worthwhile.

Many had guessed that it was the higher realms!

Shi Hao eventually returned along the long path, through the Bronze Gate, back to his own Great Realm.

“Quickly, seal it!” Bird grandpa pointed, and the monumental gate rumbled shut, chaotic mist filling the air, submerging the area.

Shi Hao looked back in astonishment.

“Somebody has followed us down. It’s definitely a ‘big one’. If they barged into the Realm of Virtual Gods, the consequences are unthinkable.” Coin elder spoke.

“We could consider creating a prison battlefield,” Bird grandpa suggested.

“Forget it, the Lower Realm is too weak; it can’t withstand those people,” Coin elder shook his head.

Shi Hao showed an odd expression. Had the veil in these two’s hearts been completely lifted? He couldn’t help but ask, “You two, could it be that you are the creators of the Realm of Virtual Gods, two ancient gods?”

“I don’t remember,” Bird grandpa shook his head, then revealed a peculiar look, saying, “I feel my True Body is in the higher realms.”

“What?!” Shi Hao was startled, these two had such backgrounds; having their True Bodies in the higher realms was utterly different from what he had guessed, leaving him in confusion.

According to some elders, their grandfather’s generation had already seen these two wandering in the starting land, which wasn’t just for a brief period.

Moreover, it was likely that the two’s presence in the Realm of Virtual Gods spanned even farther back, just unnoticed.

If calculated this way, their spiritual will had left the higher realms for at least a hundred years or even an eerily long and distant time!

“Are you certain?” Shi Hao showed a strange expression; if that were the case, their bodies had likely withered away long ago, unless their bodies were immortal and indestructible.

“Alas, I don’t remember,” Coin elder shook his head. His True Body had been separated from the higher realms who knows for how many years, his spirit clouded for some unknown reason.

“Where is my precious bronze book?” Shi Hao inquired, which was his main concern.

This time, no record tablet emerged, but a rain of light fell from the sky, leaving many staring in awe at Shi Hao.

A bronze piece fell, landing in the palm of his hand.

“Just one piece, still missing one, huh?” Shi Hao exclaimed; he needed ten pieces in total, and with this, he only had nine.

“You did enter the Spirit Realm, but didn’t venture far enough into its depths,” Bird grandpa shook his head.

Shi Hao frowned. It was an impossible journey; if he delved too deep, his retreat would surely be cut off, trapped and his body in the Lower Realm would dry up.

“If my True Body were to go to the higher realms to wander, then descend from that pair of Golden Gates, would that count as success?” Shi Hao inquired.

“That would be cheating,” Coin elder exclaimed.

“I can’t just go and get myself killed,” Shi Hao retorted.

As they talked, behind them, the Bronze Gate trembled violently, with intermittent howls and intense fluctuations echoing.

“Indeed, we’ve drawn the attention of a ‘big one,’ thankfully we closed the sealing door,” Bird grandpa wiped sweat from his brow.

While they spoke, the two dug up the earth in front of the gate, revealing a small altar about a foot high, glowing and reflecting some scenes like a mirror.

“A Divine Spirit has descended!” Bird grandpa announced.

Hearing this, Shi Hao looked forwards to see several intense Divine Fires and some young powerhouses. He touched his nose, the commotion had gotten big!

The Bronze Gate was sturdy and immortal, no matter how much it was struck, it remained sealed.

Shi Hao returned to the real world, opening his eyes. This experience had been truly remarkable; his Divine Sense had entered the Spirit Realm first for a unique trial.

“I have to leave,” Shi Hao murmured softly.

He walked through the imperial palace to a palace garden, where he found light wind talking to himself, saying, “To be emperor, I’m unprepared; how can I do well…”

Shi Hao sighed and left. Light wind seemed somewhat frail, and Shi Hao didn’t wish to force him into something he didn’t want to. If it didn’t work, he would leave it to the War King.

This matter couldn’t wait. He didn’t have the time to delay and quickly summoned the War King, Peng Jiu, and several old kings, making his thoughts clear.

“Actually, I have a candidate in mind,” Peacock King of Light spoke, having received a Minor Nirvana Pill, now a Venerable One himself.

“Please, tell,” Shi Hao said.

“Lord Hun Tian Shi Heng,” he named an individual.

“It’s him!” Shi Hao was surprised. When he first came to Stone Capital, he had attended an auction with Lord Hun Tian, who had acquired an ancient weapon—the Blood Demon Ruler. At a subsequent gathering, the two had even enjoyed drinks and talked for a long time.

On the surface, this man seemed carefree and indulgent, surrounded by beauty, but in actuality, he was powerful and astute. Before Shi Hao’s rise to power, he was the youngest of the Imperial Titles in Stone Country, with an exceptional talent.

War King added, “Indeed, he is extraordinary, embodying Heaven and Earth Pouch within himself, a true talent. We are all getting old, and he is young and strong, in the prime of life. Becoming one of the Imperial Titles so young, it’s inevitable that he will become a Venerable One in the future.”

“At first, he was also one of the heirs in consideration. If not for your rise, the old emperor also thought highly of him,” Peng Jiu also said.

Shi Hao nodded; he had known from the beginning that this youngest king of the Shi Clan was qualified to compete for the throne.

“I’ll give it serious thought,” Shi Hao nodded, and as much had been said, it also meant that there was almost no chance of change. However, he ordered that news should not be leaked for now.

In the following days, Shi Hao dealt with some matters and then studied the Myriad Spirits Diagram. This was the fundamental reason he had delayed leaving, wanting to further understand that profound and vast mystery before proceeding to the higher realms.

“Having continuously broken through and overcome realms within just one year, is it too soon to take the Minor Nirvana Pill and enter the Venerable Realm now?” he asked himself. This speed was somewhat abnormal, especially now if consuming precious pills to advance, it made him a bit uneasy.

“Better to study the Myriad Spirits Diagram first. If I can naturally break through with its aid, then there’s no issue,” murmured Shi Hao.

Half a month later, he opened his eyes, reaping an abundant harvest. The Myriad Spirits Diagram had revealed the profundities of the True Solution, making him feel as if he had opened up a brand new heaven and earth.

“Has anything happened lately?” Shi Hao asked Peng Jiu.

“A guest from the higher realms once visited,” Peng Jiu replied.

Lan Yu, Bi Gu, Hong Huang, Shui Yue, and others had come to visit, but unfortunately, Shi Hao was in closed-door cultivation; they left messages suggesting that if Shi Hao joined their sects, they could take him to the higher realms.

Shi Hao shook his head; it wasn’t possible for him to go with them. For the average person, ascending to the higher realms is even harder than reaching heaven, but he believed in himself; he had knowledge of some special ancient paths.

Two days later, the Ancestral Sacrificial Altar in the imperial palace trembled, and a piece of bone texts appeared. Such a method of sending messages would not be used in this way unless it were extremely urgent.

“Chaos in the Western Border!” Peng Jiu’s voice trembled as he quickly handed the bone texts to Shi Hao.

After Shi Hao took a look, his brows furrowed. Lord Hun Tian was responsible for guarding the Western Border, and it was he who had sent this urgent bone text. Clearly written, it stated that the Sky-Swallowing Sparrow had reappeared, ready to ignite divine flames, having devoured millions of beings!

“This beast is indeed still alive and has surfaced again,” Shi Hao said to himself, clenching his fists. In the past, this ferocious bird had slaughtered everything within fifty thousand miles, devouring all the tribes and large clans in the great desolate area where Stone Village was located.

Now, it had reappeared with such overwhelming malice and unrestrained ferocity.

Shi Hao stood up abruptly, his eyes emitting a chilling light.

Peng Jiu hurriedly cautioned, “Your Majesty, please be careful. The Sky-Swallowing Sparrow must have ignited divine flames at a preliminary level. For their kind, they need to devour a large amount of Heaven and Earth Essence Qi and blood food to ascend because their name includes the character ‘swallow,’ hence they would not hesitate to expose themselves, madly striking toward the Divine Realm. Now there are no Deities in the Lower Realm, and if you rashly go there, you might become its prey.”

“Isn’t it yet to ignite divine flames? Just beginning to attempt the breakthrough,” Shi Hao looked at the bone texts and said.

Peng Jiu shook his head, with an extremely certain tone, “It definitely ignited them initially. That vicious bird is extremely cunning and ruthless. Such frenzy only comes when they are igniting divine flames to replenish what their bodies need.”

War King, Peacock King of Light, and others all received the news and rushed to the palace. Now, with no gods in the world, who could contend with the Sky-Swallowing Sparrow?

“The Sky-Swallowing Sparrow… it’s time for a conclusion,” Shi Hao spoke softly.

The Venerables were shocked and urgently tried to dissuade him. They volunteered to resolve the situation, not wanting Shi Hao to take the risk. If the Sky-Swallowing Sparrow ignited divine flames, it would be impossible to confront; they feared for Shi Hao’s life!

“No matter, I’ll be back shortly,” Shi Hao said. He ascended the Ancestral Sacrificial Altar and directly appeared in Stone Village.

“Hairy Ball, Little Red, come with me. Let’s go slay a god!” Shi Hao called out.

“Godslayer?” A group of children rushed out, none of them afraid, all exhilarated as they scurried up like a bunch of monkeys.

Soon after, a flash of light burst from the imperial palace’s Ancestral Sacrificial Altar, and Shi Hao returned, entering the Central Heavenly Palace.

“Your Majesty, you must not take such risks!” the War King advised again.

Shi Hao caught sight of the second bone text and took hold of it, giving it a quick glance. His expression turned grim; it was yet another message sent by Lord Huntian. The Sky-Swallowing Sparrow had unleashed havoc a second time, devouring tens of millions of the human race, and was about to ignite divine flames.

“It must have already ignited them. Lord Huntian does not understand that ferocious bird, Your Majesty must not go there,” urged the Peacock King of Light, deeply concerned.

“I will not put myself in an impossible situation. You all guard the imperial palace; leave the Sky-Swallowing Sparrow to me!” Shi Hao ordered, forbidding them to go and insisting they stay in the capital.

Afterward, Shi Hao mounted the sacrificial altar and opened a passage, disappearing in an instant.

In the Western Border, for tens of thousands of miles, the land was barren, a silent expanse devoid of life.

Shi Hao appeared, standing in the midst of a vast city that had long become ruins, where the population was completely wiped out, and only bloodstains remained on the ground.

He moved forward, seeing too much blood, and not a single survivor left behind. Within tens of thousands of miles, it had become a land of extinction where both the human race and other creatures had been devoured to the last.

Shi Hao didn’t linger. He boarded the golden chariot and sped off at extreme speed to another great city, to meet Lord Huntian and get a detailed understanding of the situation.

Streaks of golden light crossed the sky as he descended into the city. Panic ruled here; most people had fled, fearing that the Sky-Swallowing Sparrow’s next target would be this place. The streets were chaotic, filled with the endless sounds of crying and shouting.

Shi Hao found his way to the Marquis Mansion and walked straight in.

“Halt!” someone shouted.

Shi Hao paid no heed and continued striding forward. “Lord Huntian, come out and meet me.”

A voice responded from within a palace, and Shi Hao, hearing the sound, vanished and then appeared directly in the grand hall.

“Your Majesty, you’ve come.” Adorning the throne in the center of that great hall, sitting there was a figure, stalwart and imposing, his eyes sharp as lightning, looking down from above — it was Lord Huntian.

“Hmm?” Shi Hao’s gaze intensified, his pupils constricting.

Lord Huntian sat on the throne, looking down below, his face showing a touch of chill.

“Lord Huntian, what are you planning?” Shi Hao asked.

“How audacious!” an old servant by the side shouted, rebuking Shi Hao.

Shi Hao ignored him, fixing his gaze on Lord Huntian. “It’s not the Sky-Swallowing Sparrow, it’s you!”

“Your Majesty, you are tired. Please take a seat and rest for a while,” Lord Huntian said indifferently.

Shi Hao said nothing, just kept his eyes on him.

“Indeed, it’s not the Sky-Swallowing Sparrow. It is a god from the higher realms who wants you dead!” Lord Huntian spoke calmly, his teeth gleaming white, almost blindingly so, and said, “Your Majesty, please go peacefully. I shall manage Stone Country in your stead.”

Shi Hao did not scold him; instead, he laughed loudly, but his heart was indeed fermenting with a wave of anger.

“What are you laughing at?” Lord Huntian asked coldly.

“As the emperor of the human race, I should suppress enemies in all four directions! You, a mere Lord Huntian, are not even in my sight. Even if a god from the higher realms comes, I would suppress them just the same!” Shi Hao declared, his voice resonant and ear-piercing, like swords and spears clashing in unison. (To be continued.
