Chapter 1203: Dinner Gathering
Chen Yang felt a bit worried, but he didn't dwell on it. After tidying up his things, he headed back to the clinic.
Just as he returned to the clinic and set his things down before he could catch his breath, his phone rang suddenly.
He took it out to have a look and found that it was Tan Jing calling.
"Why is she suddenly calling? Is she so eager to invite me to dinner?"
Chen Yang pondered for a moment, then smiled and picked up the call.
"Chen Yang, are you busy now?" Tan Jing asked directly.
"Uh..." Chen Yang thought for a bit and shook his head. "I'm not busy now, what's the matter?"
"If you're not busy, come to the county town. I'll treat you to dinner, and I have some matters I'd like to ask you about," Tan Jing said.
"Uh... okay, where should I find you?"
If it were just for dinner, Chen Yang would definitely not go, but hearing there was something to discuss, he decided to make the trip.
"I'll text you the location."
"Okay."
Chen Yang responded, and then the call ended.
Chen Yang smiled and shook his head, deciding not to rest. He stood up, tidied himself, grabbed his car keys, and prepared to head out.
Woof woof!
Just as he was about to leave, he heard a bark coming from the backyard.
From the sound, it didn't seem like Wang Cai; it sounded more like Hei Yun.
"What's going on?"
Chen Yang felt puzzled and turned to take a look at the backyard.
Originally, he thought something had happened, but upon seeing, he realized that Hei Yun was simply tired of Wang Cai clinging to him.
Hei Yun was barking like crazy at Wang Cai, acting extremely fierce.
Meanwhile, Wang Cai was cowering in a corner, not daring to show any signs of aggression.
Chen Yang's face turned dark as he witnessed this scene.
He thought that Wang Cai was truly disappointing, to be bullied like this in his own territory—such a disgrace.
Being a submissive dog is one thing, having no limits is another.
"It seems like if I don't help this guy, he'll never have a chance in a lifetime."
Chen Yang felt quite helpless, clearly understanding that Hei Yun had absolutely no interest in Wang Cai.
Although, with dogs, if you keep them together long enough, someday they might mate.
But Chen Yang couldn't afford the embarrassment, especially with Hei Pi visiting tomorrow—seeing this, he'd probably die laughing.
Chen Yang sighed helplessly, then went inside to gather some fresh meat, chopping it up and putting it in a bowl.
Then he pulled out two red elixirs from his pocket and mixed them in.
"Wang Cai, I'm giving you an opportunity; you'd better cherish it."
With that, Chen Yang took the meat-filled bowl to the backyard.
Perhaps sensing the aroma from afar,
Hei Yun stopped being aggressive toward Wang Cai and returned to normal, rushing towards Chen Yang.
Standing by Chen Yang's feet, wagging his tail with a completely pleasing manner.
Chen Yang chuckled and patted his head, then placed the bowl down.
Hei Yun must have been hungry already; upon seeing the meat, he began gobbling it down, devouring it with big bites.
Wang Cai, not far away, noticed the meat and ran over quickly, wanting to eat with Hei Yun.
Chen Yang stopped him.
"Hei Yun is the guest; once he's full, you can eat," Chen Yang said indifferently.
Wang Cai's mood immediately dropped upon hearing this.
Chen Yang didn't mind him; after all, doing this was for Wang Cai's good!
Those two elixirs must be eaten by Hei Yun, otherwise if Wang Cai eats them, it'll disrupt everything—not only would mating fail but even the village dogs might suffer.
Chen Yang stayed silent, standing aside watching.
Waiting until Hei Yun finished eating before allowing Wang Cai to eat.
When Wang Cai finished eating, he cleaned up the bowl, got in his car, and drove away from Liuhe Village to the county town.
After half an hour, he arrived at a special restaurant named Mountain Village Firewood in the county town.
Looking at the restaurant's distinctive signboard, then at the text message from Tan Jing on his phone, confirming it was indeed the place, Chen Yang drove into the restaurant's parking lot and found a spot to park.
The restaurant's business was quite good, although Chen Yang arrived just after five o'clock, it was already bustling with cars coming and going.
Noting this briefly, Chen Yang entered the restaurant, found a server to guide him, and finally located Tan Jing.
Since it's just the two of them dining, Tan Jing hadn't reserved a private room, finding an arbitrary spot in the hall instead.
Seeing the dishes almost served, Chen Yang knew this girl must have arrived early and waited here for him.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. It took some time coming from home,"
Chen Yang apologized as he sat down with Tan Jing.
Seeing Chen Yang arrive, Tan Jing smiled: "No worries, no worries. You came just in time; the dishes were served less than a couple of minutes ago."
"Haha, that's good then."
Chen Yang nodded, not rushing to eat, but first inquiring about the matter: "You mentioned having a matter to discuss; what's the issue?"
Tan Jing had already picked up her chopsticks, intending to speak straightforwardly.
But the words reached her lips, and she swallowed them back.
"You eat first; we can chat while eating. I haven't had lunch; I'm starving," Tan Jing rubbed her stomach.
Seeing this, Chen Yang chuckled: "Alright then."
With that, he picked up his chopsticks to eat along.
Once they had eaten enough, Tan Jing took a small bag of white capsule-like things out from her purse and handed it to Chen Yang.
"I asked you to come today to help me analyze what the main ingredients in this are."
Chen Yang put down his chopsticks and took the capsule, examining it.
From the exterior, it was impossible to discern the ingredients.
"You want me to analyze this? You could simply take it to a hospital, use scientific equipment to test it. How come you thought to ask me?" Chen Yang asked puzzled.
"The bureau already sent it to the hospital, but the hospital's processes are too complex, greatly affecting the investigation's timeline. So I thought to ask you first to see if you could analyze it," Tan Jing explained.
Listening to Tan Jing's explanation, Chen Yang was even more puzzled.
"Although I trained in medicine, how do you know I can visually analyze this?" Chen Yang questioned further.
Tan Jing smiled subtly and said, "Li Lao told me that your medical skills are extraordinary, solving almost any problem. So I came to try my luck."
Chen Yang finally understood—it was Li Lao who told her.
Hearing this, it made sense.
"Ah, Li Lao!"
"Yes, it's Li Lao. Otherwise, how would I think you're capable," Tan Jing nodded and asked: "You still haven't told me, can you analyze it or not?"
"I'll give it a try."
Chen Yang didn't promise outright, instead expressing he would attempt it first.
Then Chen Yang quickly looked up and beckoned to a nearby server.
When the server came over, Chen Yang requested a sheet of paper and a pen from him.
"Is there anything else you need, sir?" the server asked respectfully.
Chen Yang shook his head: "Nothing more needed."
"Alright, if you need anything, call me anytime," the server replied with a smile and stepped back.
