Chapter 227: Dragon's Reveal
"That dragon... Why does it look so familiar...?" Lita questioned as she watched the scene from below.
'It looks like it's in so much pain... Where have I seen it before?' She wondered
-
Ria plunged into the ripple, appearing inside of another right beside the Dragon.
Meanwhile, Delta's flaming figure zoomed past the air towards the Dragon. She easily avoided each and every ripple as she followed the path she had traced at phenomenal speeds.
She moved so fast that it was as if her form had become less physical and more that of what consisted a flame itself.
*ZOOM!*
The girl's appeared before the Dragon with their weapons already in motion to attack.
Ria had appeared seconds earlier from behind thrusting her rapier at it's back, whereas Delta had appeared from below, swinging her Katana vertically as she zoomed upwards.
Two attacks from both directions at speeds almost impossible to react to-
*SWWOOSH!*
It avoided it, angling it's body perfectly causing the blades to going right past its body in the process.
[Distort[
[Burn!]
The space at the edge of Ria's Rapier grew distorted, the distortion just barely caught a hold of part of the Dragon's tail. Meanwhile Dark flames burst from Delta's sword, barely engulfing the Windy dragon In the process.
*FWOOSH!*
The Dragon propelled itself out of the flames grasp, only for Ria to come out of a ripple in had propelled itself towards.
With Ria in it's path it was aware that another distortion attack which could end it with a direct hit would come forth.
It could see it. The flow of wind leading towards it, the pattern and trajectory that she'd attack through.
[Distort.]
*FWWOOSH!*
It dodged once again, swinging it's tail at her to counter, as it did so, a large-like object seemed to travel up it's throat.
It almost seemed as if it were charging up an attack.
*Plunge*
She fell into the ripple beside the distortion, allowing her to rift through it and come out of another ripple beneath it.
[Distort.]
*SWOOSH!*
It avoided again, moving its flexible snake-like body in the least predictable way.
Attacking it felt like trying to stick a thread through a tiny needle.
The Dragon turned its head towards her, aiming at both her and the ripple she was planning on falling into in order to attack again.
It had caught on, and worse of all was that it was when its attack had been fully charged. A moderately large sphere of compressed, sharp, spinning wind rested in front of its mouth.
The ball had compressed itself so much that it began banging around the air left and right, showing just how unstable it was.
'There's no time to enter the rift!'
*FWOOSH!*
It was launched.
*ROAAARRRRR!*
*Katchunk!*
The instant it launched it however, a clean dark flaming blade swing connected against its neck from the sides as Delta blew by it with [Dark Flame Waltz] one more time.
The compressed ball of wind however, was heading straight for Ria.
*Thrust!*
[Spatial Manipulation: Distortion.]
Ria thrust the edge of her rapier at the ball inches before her. Just a single second after that single thrust, her arms had covered itself in countless cuts and grazes.
'What!?'
Strong gusts of winds surged at her, forcing her hair to sway backwards as the cuts spread their way throughout her body.
She was in a world of pain, her arms trembled as the edge of her rapier struggled to maintain a distortion in the space before her.
'It's too strong...!!'
She had plans to teleport the sphere through a ripple before it hit her, but if it made contact with anyone or anywhere inside of the refugee, people could possibly get hurt or worst-case scenario, everything would collapse.
With that in mind, Ria had but one objective.
'Destroy it.'
*Spurt* *Splash*
The cuts were going deeper and deeper, so deep that her blood was being propelled onto her and the air behind.
'I need to destroy it...!'
[Spatial Manipulation: Distortion Two Fold.]
Two distortions overlapped one another creating an even bigger distortion in front of her.
*FWOOSH!*
Another strong gust of wind burst at her, almost sending her flying away, but she managed to hold on thanks to Gravity.
'Destroy Iit...!!!' She yelled inwardly.
The crack in the space was slowiy growing. Delta's eyes widened as she glanced at her from a far, but instead she focused on finishing off the Dragon before her.
"Destroy IT!!!" She shouted out.
At that instant, the entire space shook. Ria was placing her all into this attack to get rid of the decompressing ball of rampaging winds.
Holding it back was pushing her to limits.
*Crack*
And it was thanks to that, that she...
*Crack* *Crack*
Reached the next level.
*Shatter*
[Spatial Manipulation: Spatial Rupture]
The eyes of the Fallen Angel Opposition Corps members widened as the cracks created through the spatial distortions shattered, creating a large rupture in the space before her.
The crack which had shattered was ultimately a rupture in the space, this rupture which had manifested before her instantly and effortlessly engulfed the Dragon's rampaging wind ball.
Ria who was the closest, was next as the rupture began to suck her in, in a way similar to a black hole's vacuum.
They who were doing the best they could to hold on, in order to not get swept by the tornado now realised they had a bigger problem at hand.
It was out of control.
[Spatial Teleport & Ripple-]
Ria tried creating a spatial ripple to enter whilst also trying to teleport away in case the ripple had failed. But the rupture got in the way of it.
She was so close to it that her perception of space was affected, forcing her to teleport only a meter away before getting caught in it's suction again.
And the Ripple was even able to manifest as a result of the ripple.
She needed to close the rupture, otherwise she'd be consumed by her own ability.
*Thrust*
She thrust the edge of her rapier towards the rupture as it dragged her in, aiming to use it to closer the rupture.
*Chip*
Her eyes widened however, as the Rapier's blade suddenly chipped upon entering the rupture.
It was way too powerful.
With less than a second to decide and no other choice, she she let go of the handle and thrust her palms forward.
"Close..." She muttered with a pained groan as she grabbed the two edges of the rupture in the space.
Upon grabbing it, she instantly began to pull them in together, in order to shut it sealed.
Veins were bulging out of the partly defined muscles which had expanded out of her tiny bloodied arms. The cuts began to burn and itch as if a scorching hot flame was placed on them, but she didn't let go.
Instead she held in all the pain and let out another loud shout with all that she had.
"CLOSE!!!!"
[Spatial Manipulation: Seal.]
*WHAM!*
The back of her hands slammed against each other as the edge of the ruptures connected, thus closing shut as a result.
The moment it happened, a smile grew on Ria's face before she began her plunge downwards towards the ground at high speeds.
The Corps members who watched instantly got into position ready to catch her with her ability, but the one who caught her in those moments were neither them nor herself but rather...
*Catch*
A dark flame passed by, dragging her back up to the ceiling.
With a blurry vision from having lost way too much energy and blood, she stared at Delta's long silver hair.
Blurry or not, it was obvious who it was based on the hair colour. Delta was the prettiest silver haired girl she knew after all.
"Did you finish it...?" Ria asked in a shaky tone.
"Yeah... But..."
Delta's eyes were glued to the Dragon's burning figure in the distance.
Half of the Dragon's long windy body had been devoured by the flames after it's neck was sliced off.
But that wasn't what surprised Delta, it was that right in the center of the Dragon's body, but a single figure had emerged.
Upon closer inspection, Ria's eyes widened as she saw who it was.
-
Lita's pupils dilated as she saw the figure from the ground.
There was no mistaking it, there was no way she ever could.
After all, it was her own brother.
It was Kylo.
-
From the waist down, his body was submerged in the bottom half of the Dragon's windy body. His eyes were shut showing that he was clearly unconscious.
"D-Delta! P-Put out the flames! He c-could die!"
If that were to happen, even the kind, saint-like Lara would never forgive them.
Delta nervously shook her head.
"I'll make sure he won't burn... Trust me..."
'And besides... The wind won't let me either.'
As if doing everything it can to protect him, strong surges of wind began gathering around Kylo where the flames were building, attempting to put it out and keep him safe.
Their hairs were swaying uncontrollably as the winds from tornado was all being dragged in towards him.
They had no time to rest idly and talk, they needed to go retrieve Kylo, wake him up and pull him out of it.
