Pause System: Harem In The Apocalypse

Chapter 219: The Dangerous Vision.

Lita's eyes slowly opened, she found herself barely holding onto Gray's back with injuries spread all over her body.

Her arms and legs were wrapped around the back of a Grey-haired figure whose eyes were locked onto the enemy opposite to him.

Whilst on his back, she could see it. The deep hatred and disbelief in his eyes as he stared at the enemy before him.

After looking around she'd realise that the two were standing on the top of a rooftop with no one else in sight.

"Aaaagh... AAH.... AAAAHHHHH!!!!"

Then came the agonising scream as he grabbed and rubbed hastily rubbed his hair. Pulling out a few strands as he did so.

The young man's forehead would glow as he let out his agonizing scream. A golden yellow pattern which flashed a dark red as it spread out through his body with runic symbols.

The symbols spread through his arms and legs, as if engulfing him in their hatred.

[Mark Of The King Third Form: Forceful Activation.]

By the time the runes spread had come to a stop, so had the scream.

After projecting all of his voice out in despair, the young man stopped moving.

It was strange. Even though he'd been shouting his lungs out in agony a while ago, his expression had now completely changed and become cold and stoic.

As if all remaining emotions in him were voided.

Based on the voice, the colour of his eyes and face, there was no doubt about it. It was Gray.

'Ah... I understand now... It's this dream again.'

'It's the second time already... That I have this dream.'

'It always feels so real...' Lita thought to herself.

In this dream, the young girl would always wake up in Gray's back whilst being unable to move.

The sky was black and white, not a single sound other than the one coming from Gray could be heard.

It was as if everything in the world had stopped for this moment, all while he glared at the enemy on the opposite side of the rooftop.

For some reason, no matter how hard she'd try, she would never be able to make out the enemy's figure. It was as if there was a distortion around its body and face making it unrecognisable.

But there was one thing she knew for certain.

It had purple eyes.

Gray took a step forward, his eyes locked onto the enemy as if mutilating and killing it was the only thing that mattered to him in this world.

*Step* *Step* *Step*

Seeing him approach, the enemy too took a step in his direction. However, the moment in did-

"Fall."

[Fall.]

*BAM!*

The enemy's head caved in and the ground beneath him cracked before he'd eventually go falling down from floor to floor before eventually crashing head first into the ground floor.

Lita who was on Gray's back, was speechless as she stared at the giant hole on the rooftop which came as a result of this.

"Come."

[Come.]

Then as if he had never fallen, the figure would appear before Gray only to widen it's eyes, as Gray's fist would crash into it in the following instant.

"Twist."

[Twist.]

The figure's body would soon start to twist as it flew across the air.

There was no escaping this one.

However, before it's bones and body reached the point where it was disfigured beyond the repair.

It's figure vanished and appeared before Gray with it's wounds completely healed. It appeared with a swing in motion right at Gray's face.

"Get Crushed."

[Crushed.]

*Crunch*

It's bones in it's hands were instantly crushed by a mysterious force one second, only to be completely repaired on the next.

"Break."

[Break.]

*Shatter*

The space before Gray would collapse into pieces. The figure of being before him should too have collapsed having been right in the middle of said space.

But once again, just like the other times, as if he was never even affected by it in the first place, he'd continue his attack, directing it right at Gray as he did so.

It all happened so fast that Lita barely had enough time to panic.

Just one hit, that was all that it was aiming for.

Both Gray and Lita could feel it, the darkness and ominous energy coming from that single fist. There was no doubt in their minds that being hit would lead to certain death.

And yet... Gray didn't even bat an eye. He hadn't so much as moved an inch his location or turned his head.

"Die." Gray muttered as he directed his gaze to the figure's fist.

Lita's eyes opened wide, she breathed in and out heavily before desperately looking around.

There she was, laying down in the middle of a room right beside her brother and mother, Kylo and Lara.

"...It ended at the same time again..." She muttered with a sigh.

'What is that dream...? It feels like a vision... But I really... Really hope it isn't...'

'Big Bro, Gray was in so much pain after all...' She thought herself as tears began to manifest in her eyes.

She looked over at the mirror opposite to them before rubbing her eyes. They were swollen, almost as if she had been crying in her sleep.

'...I need to get check on big bro, Gray...'

Whilst trying to make the least amount of noise possible, Lita slowly got off the bed.

*Creak*

For some reason, the less noise she'd try to make, the more creaking there'd be.

After getting out, she tiptoed her way over to the steel door entrance, occasionally glancing back at the bed where they slept every few seconds.

If they found her sneaking out, on the first night at the new base, there's no telling what they'd do.

'3...2...5...6...'

*Beep*

After putting in the code, the door's light flashed green and it opened.

*Slide*

The noise it made while opening was so loud that Lit a was almost sure she'd get gotten caught.

Fortunately for her, both her mother and brother shared the same sleeping trait. Once asleep, they wouldn';t wake up no matter what.

She glanced back to check one last time before eventually walking out through the door.

*Katchunk*

She felt shivers travel down her back as the door behind her shut with a strange loud mechanic sound.

She stood still in her spot for a few seconds, expecting to hear her mum or brother call her name out, only to end up hearing nothing.

Letting out a sigh of relief, she began her walk over to the room where Gray was resting at, hoping to get there soon.

They were all inside of the new base, Angel opposition base.

Except for Ruby and Charlotte who already knew, they were naturally all surprised to hear that Gray had become the new commander and placed Ria as a stand-in.

- Memory

Everyone panicekd after Gray fell unconscious.

It happened out of nowhere so they first assumed he might have been poisoned while outside or something.

Fortunately for them , this wasn't the first time it had happened and after confirming that he had no injuries, and was still breathing whilst unconscious, they felt more at ease.

The group didn't know how long he'd be out for, and he'd already explained to them whenever thisd would happen that they shouldn't worry and simply let him rest until he was awake.

That was the plan but the group remembered what he had made their objective before falling unconscious.

Knowing this, they wanted to prove useful and help him out whilst he was unable to do anything himself.

With that in mind, the group along with Ruby took him over to the new base. Ruby needed to stay back to manage things but Charlotte allowed her to go, saying that she'd keep contact with her through the communication device and manage things in her place for now.

Ruby who didn't want to split up with Gray until she knew for sure that he was fine, naturally agreed.

Besides, the group needed her to guide them since she was the only one out of them who Ria had told where the base was, since she was the only one in contact with her.

After that, they packed up their things and hurriedly began their journey over to the new base.

As soon as they got here, Ria was notified of the situation. After hearing about the state he was in, she had apparently left her line of work and got straight to helping him.

She got everyone and a room and spent the next few hours watching over him alongside, Ruby, Violet and Aurora.

Lara's healing didn't prove useful to Gray in anyway so instead she went around helping the refugees. There were many who were injured and needed help.

Aurora, Violet and Ruby also helped out with the construction, helping speed things up.

-Memory End.

"In the end... I was the only one who was unable to do anything... Even Kylo helped out with his wind manipulation..."

It had been around twelve hours since they arrived.

Now that she was on her way over to his room. Lita wanted to at least be able to provide him some help, even if it was little.
