Chapter 83: 83:The Orc King Terror

He landed behind the beast, knees bending to absorb the fall.

For a breath, the orc stood frozen. Then its massive body collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud. Its severed head rolled across the stone floor, coming to rest against the wall.

The chamber fell silent except for the sound of heavy breathing. The others tightened their grips, eyes shifting to the three remaining orcs

The first orc's head rolled across the floor, leaving a trail of blood. Its body lay still. But the victory lasted only a moment. The three remaining orcs roared in anger and charged forward. Their steps shook the ground.

Joel moved fast, weaving between them. His role was clear.

He drew their attention, darting in and out like a shadow. His blades slashed at arms and legs, forcing the orcs to turn after him. Their wild swings cut the air, missing by inches.

Every close call made the others tighten their grips.

"We got one down," Ethan called out, his voice sharp. "Let's move to the next!"

Ryu let out a fierce cry.

The beast-woman dropped low on all fours, causing her muscles to ripple. With explosive speed she sprinted ahead. Dust and small stones kicked up behind her. She leapt into the air, pulling out her sword and raising high slashed it.

The steel flashed in the torchlight before slamming down across an orc's shoulder.

The creature stumbled back, roaring wildly. It swung its axe wildly, nearly tearing chunks out of the stone wall. Ryu pushed off its chest, landed, and spun her blade again, ready for the next strike.

Ethan stepped up and raised his Greatsword to strike but paused in mid. He braced himself as another orc barreled toward him with a club.

The ground cracked beneath each of its steps. Ethan set his feet wide and raised his blade. He had to hold its attention.

"Come at me!" His shout echoed as the greatsword crashed into the club. The blow rattled his arms to the bone. The orc pressed forward with brute strength. Ethan dug his boots into the ground and pushed back with a roar of his own.

Joel saw the opening and slipped in. He slid across the floor, cutting at the creature's exposed thigh. The blade bit deep, spraying blood. The orc howled, turning to swat him away, but Joel was already gone, rolling back behind Ethan's guard.

On the far side, Randall's voice rang out. "Ryu, now!"

Ryu lunged, her sword carving upward. The blade dug into the orc's side, leaving a wide gash. It staggered, but swung back with its massive axe. Ryu twisted, barely dodging. The wind from the swing ripped strands of her hair loose.

From behind, Haro's bowstring snapped. An arrow flew, striking the creature's hand and forcing it to drop the axe. Ryu didn't waste the chance. She thrust her sword into its chest, her teeth gritted with effort.

At the back, Irida's hands glowed red. Flames swirled as she cast her spell. "Fireball!" she cried.

The ball of fire roared across the room and slammed into the orc's head. The explosion lit the chamber, smoke rolling across the ceiling. The monster screamed, clutching its burned face.

"Finish it!" Ethan bellowed.

Randall rushed in, his blade glowing faintly with mana. He thrust forward and pierced the orc's heart. The beast groaned, staggered, then fell with a heavy thud, shaking the ground.

The other orc who was showered with fireball enraged, charged straight at Irida.

Its roar filled the chamber.

"Irida, move!" Joel shouted.

Irida shot balls of fire that blasted creating smoke.

Just as she relaxed,a creature tore through the fog making her freeze for half a second.

The orc's club raised high above her. But Ethan slammed into its path,as his greatsword locked the club with the strike. The blow cracked the stone floor beneath them.

Joel darted past, slicing the orc's calf. Ryu leapt onto its back, and raising her sword she stabbed again and again into its neck. The monster flailed, crashing into the wall in an attempt to throw her off.

"Haro!" Randall shouted.

"On it!" Haro's bowstring thrummed. Two arrows flew, piercing the orc's arm and chest. It stumbled, its strength faltering. Ryu growled as she pulled her sword free and then drove it down into the orc's skull. Blood sprayed across her arms. The beast fell forward with a final crash, twitching before going still.

Only one remained.

This last orc was larger, more furious. It swung a massive mace in wide arcs, keeping them back. Each strike smashed stone and tore gouges into the floor. Its eyes were red with rage.

"Circle him!" Ethan commanded, sweat dripping down his face.

Joel moved left, Ryu to the right. Ethan pressed from the front. Randall stayed just behind, ready to strike. Haro and Irida supported from the backline.

The orc roared and swung. Ethan blocked with both hands, sparks flying as steel met steel. Joel darted in and slashed at its ribs before leaping back out of reach. Ryu charged, her sword cutting across its thigh.

The orc turned wildly, swinging at anyone who came close. Haro's arrows pinned its arms, forcing its swings wide. Irida's fireballs blasted its chest, blackening the skin. The chamber filled with smoke, heat, and the sound of clashing steel.

"Push now!" Ethan shouted.

Joel ran low, slicing the back of its knees. Ryu leapt high and slammed her blade into its shoulder. Randall struck from behind, stabbing deep.

The orc roared in pain, staggering forward. Ethan raised his greatsword high. With a final cry, he leapt and brought it down with all his strength.

THUD!

BANG!

The blade crushed through the skull, splitting it apart. The orc dropped to the ground with its head shattered into nothing but blood and bone.

Then…

Silence hung heavy in the room.

The torches flickered.

Everyone breathed in relief…Taking down four was a bit difficult.

Thankfully they managed…

Then, slow and deliberate, a sound echoed through the chamber.

Clap!Clap!Clap

The sharp sound carried across the walls sending them deja vu.
