Chapter 1713: Nest of a Supreme Being?
Chapter 1713: Nest of a Supreme Being?
An imperceptible smile slowly crept on Pakhet's normally indifferent and neutral expression. It added a wondrous charm to an underlying intensity within her beauty.
White Sky genuinely believed Wei Wuyin despite being ignorant of the context of his exact sentence. She was a Senior Worldly Saint Alchemist with a prestigiously prominent status that could, with a wave of her banner, summon forth Sages to fight for her with significant ease. A single word from her could change destinies.
She felt that, while Enlightened Sage Springfield and World Prophetess Bai had met their untimely end, her and her Dao Protector's survival hinged solely on her status as one of Utmost Purity Galaxy's eminent Alchemists, and she only needed to wait until Wei Wuyin would return her home on the basis of many, many owed favors. Favors that she had absolutely no issues giving out gratefully with both hands. After all, she was alive.
She had already mentally set aside tasks for herself and gifts from her personal vault back in her territory within the Utmost Purity Galaxy to Wei Wuyin as a sign of thanks. As for getting revenge? She didn't care in the slightest.
After all…she was alive.
This was not her first time being spared due to her ability as an Alchemist. Only cultivators who were hell-bent on vengeance or utterly insane would kill Alchemists without a second thought. Of course, there were other Alchemists.
In her eyes, Wei Wuyin was a supreme existence in terms of combat prowess, capable of slaughtering terrifyingly powerful enemies like Enlightened Sage Springfield. It had to be known that not only was his cultivation an entire stage higher than the Sage's present, Springfield had grasped the Minor Wood Law, possessed three Heavenly Treasures that were tailored perfectly to his cultivation, and had a perfect foundation in the Mortal Realms and lower-stages of the Mystic Ascendant Realm to possess an Astral Idol and a Domain of Mysticism!
With his True Soul cultivation base, he could utilize the Minor Authority of his law to an utterly shocking extent that surpassed Imentet and Nepri by several degrees. Others were truly unable to grasp how strong Wei Wuyin was. White Sky was unaware that Wei Wuyin was only a mere mortal at the time!
Whether it was the ten Sages of the Resolute Dusk Galaxy, they all lacked a Domain of Mysticism! While there were a thousand and one ways to emulate the effects of the Domain of Mysticism, one of its requirements without external assistance to acquire it was a flawless Mortal Dao foundation. White Sky's Dao Protector, Overlord Tigerheart, had only achieved that power by igniting his Mystic Soul!
It could be seen that those like Jia Yang, Su Nianzu, and especially Tian Taizong were not just demonic geniuses, but heaven-defying, destined-for-greatness heroes of the cultivation world! Tian Taizong had dominated two of them immediately upon breaking through!
He was an irregularity who had the ambition to break away from the game of the Ascended Sovereigns!
Meanwhile, the eight Sages used the joint efforts of eight cultivators and still couldn't create a true Domain of Mysticism. While this largely had to do with the timing by which they obtained their cultivation art, preventing them from creating an unprecedented foundation in the Mortal Dao together, it still showcased their difference.
Because of this, White Sky didn't need context. Someone like Wei Wuyin as a mortal, albeit she was ignorant of that, could walk about with an Edict Seed without many issues. While a Supreme Sage would destroy entire cultivation civilizations for it, they wouldn't dare to push someone like that into a corner and cause them to suffer a great loss.
It just wasn't worth it half the time, especially not for an Elemental-type Edict Seed.
Wei Wuyin glanced at White Sky's smug and self-satisfied expression, ignoring her childish confidence; he tossed Sui You, Chen Minghui, and Cao Zhulian to Pakhet. Wei Wuyin didn't need any verbal instruction; she kept the trio of sealed young Original Magistrates with a complex love triangle in her Internal World.
"World-Saint Neo-Dawn, regarding your words earlier," Nepit spoke, causing Nepri to send her a baffled stare while Imentet just chuckled coldly. Pakhet didn't even bother looking at her. Her greed and entitlement knew no bounds. However, Nepit steeled her heart. The Edict Seed was too valuable.
Wei Wuyin faintly smiled. "Don't worry, Sage Pakhet will be well rewarded for a job well done. How kind of you to fight for her benefits." Then, he ignored her and went to the helm. White Sky looked about, saw those cultivating, and was about to follow Wei Wuyin closely, but as she took three steps, she stopped and looked at the white-robed Young Master Shang with a tinge of flowing thoughts, excavating her well of memories.
"..." Nepit's expression was slightly unsightly. Nepri sighed with relief in his heart that Wei Wuyin didn't do anything more than ridicule Nepit's greed. He hastily tried to bring his Dao Companion away, but she flinched at his reach and then glared at him. Just as she was about to say something, an exclamation was heard.
"Oh!" White Sky's eyes glowed with a light of realization. "IT'S YOU!" Suddenly, her eyes slightly widened, and then cold sweat formed on her hands and armpits. She coughed unnaturally, "Young Master Shang! The world truly is small." Then, she didn't disturb Young Master Shang from his cultivation, following Wei Wuyin.
That entire event was overshadowed by Nepit's cold harrumph as she walked away to the edge of Minor Elysium, seeking alone time. Nepri could only stare helplessly at her tantrum. Imentet flew back to Hidden Wind after glancing at the couple with annoyance.
Pakhet found a location on the ship and sat down. The chain bindings on Wei Yinan faded while Lu Xuanyu remained bound. Before she could begin kicking and screaming, Wei Si calmed her down and caused her to grow oddly silent with confusion as she glanced at each Sage and mind-blowing figure on this ship.
She recognized White Sky instantly, and this largely contributed to her patience and obedience.
Wei Wuyin piloted Minor Elysium as Ming Shufeng ran to his side alongside White Sky. He glanced at White Sky, the Young Master Shang, and then began to pilot the Minor Elysium to the next spot of fortune that Ming Shufeng had divined. Others might not have noticed the exchange between White Sky and Young Master Shang, but he noted it all with his Celestial Eyes.
A transmission that exceeded Spiritual and Mental was sent out, directly to her True Soul, and was so unnoticeable that none of the Sages had sensed anything amiss. In their eyes, she recognized Young Master Shang and just left him alone. They didn't find this odd since Wei Wuyin was bound to be a prominent figure beyond the galaxy, so a companion of his being recognized wasn't out of the norm, especially since he kept proudly referring to Wei Wuyin as Brother-in-law during their travels.
'So there's far more to him than just the descendant of a powerful cultivator.' Wei Wuyin had more or less guessed that much when he noticed Young Master Shang observing the invisible seal around the Onestar Domain emotionally. There were a few other things that stood out, but Wei Wuyin didn't feel like delving into the mystery.
When they arrived at the Treasured Vale Galaxy and the Blessed Yri Empire, those mysteries would naturally unfold. Otherwise, he would have long since ambushed Young Master Shang with interrogative questions.
White Sky felt liberated and excited after exiting the palace within Wei Wuyin's spatial ring. Initially, at least. Then, she missed Overlord Tigerheart. Wei Wuyin brought him out after, and the ferocious Alchemic Knight and Dao Protector of White Sky joined the crew.
When they began Void Portal jumping across the galaxy, the two were given a horrific fright. They were both extraordinarily powerful cultivators, and Wei Wuyin hadn't sealed their cultivation bases. So when they saw how the Void Portal had taken them from one spot to another and they couldn't calculate the distance of the jump immediately, their hearts and minds were unable to process it.
It took them a long while to discover that they had jumped an insane number of miles in a single go. Was that the ship's power?! By the time they had figured out the truth, Wei Wuyin had already sent Pakhet to retrieve the lone comet. It was a fragment of a destroyed planet from over a million years ago, and it contained condensed icy crystals of mana that were naturally refined through a long, uncertain process, creating a material on the level of low Mystic-Heaven grade.
While only four pieces were retrieved, White Sky identified it as a material used for exceptional high-tier and peak-tier Mystic-World products and the Soul Pill. It had a very simple name: the Million-Year Mana Crystal. She was practically salivating.
They had hit it big, but Pakhet was slightly injured trying to halt the comet. It was barreling through the world with disastrous force, and she had to rely on the Major Authority of Metal Law for a brief moment to shave off a significant portion of her momentum. Since her battle with Wei Wuyin, her control over the Major Law was considerably higher and her cultivation was on the verge of the True Soul, so she wasn't too heavily affected. As long as she refrained from absorbing the heavenly law into her physical body, she could release it externally in short bursts as she had done shredding the defenses surrounding the Shell World and Void Vessels earlier.
Wei Wuyin compensated her with a vortex pellet and a few recuperation and nourishing products to nurse her injury. She didn't reject it, but Nepit's eyes shone with a tinge of inexplicable emotion.
When they went to the last of the four locations, it was an ancient ruin within a fragmented Secret Realm that hadn't collapsed yet—an extreme abnormality. Young Master Shang briefly opened his eyes, staring at the Secret Realm before closing it. Wei Wuyin thought about it for a while and then told the Sages and White Sky that they could explore the ruins, but if they did, they had to brave the dangers and take the risks of doing so themselves.
White Sky didn't send anyone. She understood fighting for fortune, but her strongest card was Overlord Tigerheart, and if four Sages were competing for fortune, he could lose his life. She abstained from participating.
Meanwhile, Imentet and Pakhet both decided not to enter.
Nepit was reluctant to let this opportunity go, and she flew off without much thought, conjuring her strongest Mystic Ward. Nepri raced toward her immediately, and they shockingly exchanged blows after a huffing exchange and argument, but Nepri brought her back with a pale complexion and a palm print on his chest. Imentet cursed as she coughed up blood.
Nepri had exhausted another portion of his cultivated foundation, and she exited the Hidden Wind, holding the almost irresistible urge to take action against Nepit. But Nepri was adamant about protecting her despite her actively struggling against his seal. Seeing her healthy and rosy complexion with a gaze of grievance, Imentet was fuming.
Pakhet took the loss of their cultivated foundation in stride, ignoring all of them. Nepri sighed and sat down, exhausted.
Wei Wuyin watched all this unfold before turning his gaze toward the ruins. Then, uncharacteristically, he decided to not explore the ruins. When they took the Void Portal away from the location, a pair of eyes observed the ship that resembled a pair of galaxies imbued with soulful radiance. Then, it slowly closed.
After exiting the Void Portal, Wei Wuyin held out his palm as a flower levitated above it, releasing a gorgeous multicolored radiance. It was funnel-shaped, somewhat two-lipped, violet and gold colored. A violet and gold Azalea!
The others were immediately attracted to the flower's presence. They stared intently and couldn't pry their eyes from it. White Sky observed it and her eyes glowed with an intense, heated light.
"What is it?" Nepri asked dazedly.
Wei Wuyin answered, "I plucked it from the nest of what I can assume is the garden and cultivation grounds of a Supreme Sage." His bold words stumped each of them, and then their eyes widened with unbearable shock.
Whether it was Nepri, Imentet, or Pakhet, they felt a strong sense of unease when observing the Secret Realm before, but they couldn't figure out why. Since they had Minor Authorities of Laws, their souls sensed the tiniest presence of a superior, supremely powerful aura, but couldn't quite understand what it was or what it indicated.
It made sense; they had never come across a Supreme Sage before!
White Sky cried out: "Soul-Bound Azalea!"
Soul-Bound?!
There were three types of bound treasures: Spirit-Bound, Soul-Bound, and Dao-Bound!
"There were at least tens of thousands of these things," Wei Wuyin's eyes narrowed as he stared at the flower. A Soul-Bound Treasure? He looked back in the direction of the Supreme Sage and shrugged.
"Tens of thousands?!?!" White Sky was astonished to the point her jaw almost fell to the ground. Overlord Tigerheart's large eyes bulged out uncontrollably in disbelief. He didn't know whether Wei Wuyin was bullshitting or not.
Wei Wuyin nodded. Then, he inspected the eight others within his spatial ring. He had only taken nine, as he felt taking too much would be noticed immediately. He didn't mention that there were billions of other flowers, even Spirit-Bound Lotuses, and treasures of similar types there either.
He didn't touch those.
He didn't touch the single unbloomed flower that seemed like it was an emperor among flowers in that garden either. Only nine of these flowers.
Why?
Because there was a majestic sign at the entrance of the Secret Realm that stated something obscure and nonsensical, but generally meant that only nine could be taken by one, but in a roundabout way that required math and thinking. In the end, pretty much those in the Mystic Star Phase could only take nine while Enlightened Sages could only take one. However, these Soul-Bound Flowers could not be taken by ordinary, talented, or even demonically genius Mystic Star Phase cultivators. They might have to be at the level of a Blessed or Tian Taizong.
Since this was a fortuitous opportunity that this Supreme Sage was giving out or baiting others with, Wei Wuyin decided to just take it for himself. The others turned down the chance. There were incredibly lethal dangers there, so he didn't force the issue.
Just as Wei Wuyin was about to leave after keeping the Soul-Bound Azalea, a ripple emerged in the void. Wei Wuyin's eyes widened slightly as he retrieved an item that was sent his way, sending it to his spatial ring without anyone noticing. His eyes flickered as he glanced back at the Secret Realm with a thoughtful light flickering within.
"When I'm done, I'll come back." He said suddenly, leaving toward the Utmost Purity Galaxy.
The item that was sent was none other than a tenth Azalea alongside a single, odd sentence:
"One thousand years of Dao service, grant freedom."
