Paper Paper Fruit In One Piece

Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Curse Lifted – The Birth of a God

People's bodies are not all the same.

Usopp's body… is really something else. Unlike others, he gets hurt in almost every battle! He can't even call it a serious injury unless he breaks a bone or two. Yet somehow, after a few days, he's back on his feet, full of energy again. It made Roman wonder if Usopp has some kind of "super-speed healing" ability.

Even though the Powered Sound Shell went off right in front of Usopp, like taking a shock bomb to the face, he endured it. While Sugar had a large metal doll to block some of the impact, Usopp took the full brunt of the attack head-on.

The difference in their willpower was crystal clear. Usopp remained standing, while Sugar was down for the count.

Of course, she wouldn't get another chance to stand up.

"Ice Breath!"

The dove opened its beak, and a wave of cold air instantly enveloped the unconscious Sugar, freezing her solid.

"Dimensional Pocket!"

Unlike the Castle-Castle Fruit, the Bag-Bag Fruit can't store living beings, but storing a frozen, unconscious Sugar was no problem at all.

"Considering how dangerous the Hobby-Hobby Fruit would be in the hands of a strong opponent—it could create a 'Toy Kingdom' for one of the Emperors—we can't take any chances."

This is the fate you deserve, Sugar. Just like all those who died silently under your power, forgotten in the trash heaps, without anyone to mourn them.

As the dove swallowed the frozen Sugar, the noise around them grew louder and louder.

"I'm back to normal!!"

"Ha! Finally, I'm free…"

"Thank goodness! That helpless feeling—"

"It's been ten years, ten years! Doflamingo, I'll never forgive you!!"

One by one, former arena fighters, soldiers of Dressrosa, Marine officers, government agents, and even nobles from various countries who had been turned into toys by the Donquixote Family regained their human forms.

More voices joined in:

"I'm alive?! Sugar, you monster—I'm taking you down with me!!"

Among the piles of broken toys in the massive garbage dump, a few figures stood up. But most remained motionless, their lifeless forms staring blankly. Even though the power was undone, those who had already died could never come back.

——————

"Sorry… Doffy…"

The crying voice of Trebol came through the transponder snail, full of panic.

"Sugar was killed by the Straw Hat crew!"

!? At the same time, the monitor beside them showed Sabo eating the Flare-Flare Fruit. Doflamingo felt like his once rock-solid control was now sliding rapidly into the abyss of 'defeat.' He suddenly recalled how, no matter how powerful or unshakable they seemed, any group that crossed paths with the Straw Hat crew would be brought down by these reckless troublemakers...

Could it be his turn now?

No! Absolutely not. Though veins bulged on Doflamingo's forehead, he stayed calm and began giving orders.

"Trebol, return to the palace!"

"Tell Diamante to come back immediately!"

Now that the Flare-Flare Fruit has been eaten, what's the point of staying in the arena? "Have Lao G, Dellinger, Machvise, and Senor Pink retreat from the toy house!"

Unlike other villains who refuse to act until all their minions are defeated, Doflamingo was one of the few with a consistently sharp mind. The moment he realized things were going out of control, he ordered all his top men to regroup at the palace.

"Don't panic. We've been through worse storms."

Even though he was furious to the point of bursting a blood vessel, Doflamingo held himself together to stabilize his forces first.

"Marine Vice Admiral Tsuru and the World Government's CP agents have been hunting us for years, and we survived! This is just a group of pirates! Everyone, regroup at the palace, get organized, and crush these fools. Let them see the power of the Donquixote Family!"

"Yes, young master!!" x10

With Doflamingo taking charge, the other officers quickly snapped out of the chaos and started retreating from their battles across the country, heading toward the palace. They believed that under Doflamingo's leadership, they could overcome the crisis—

Crash—

But right at that moment, a tall figure suddenly smashed through the palace window!

It was a strong, determined man with wild black hair. His perfectly sculpted body looked like a flawless statue, radiating raw strength. Dressed like a gladiator, with a red cape flowing behind him, he raised a long sword high in the air.

"Doflamingo!"

Even with only one leg, his charge was filled with overwhelming, fierce energy, like a terrifying beast tearing through its prey. His wild and bold aura carried the unbeatable spirit of a true gladiator.

"Prepare to die!!"

With a swing of his sword, there was no Haki, no special ability—just pure strength and sheer fury! The heavy, blunt gladiator sword sliced through Doflamingo's neck without hesitation, instantly beheading him.

Clean and swift,

A one-hit kill!

While Law stood frozen in shock after teleporting in, Luffy, who had leapt over, glanced at the 'Doflamingo' whose head had been cut off. Adjusting his straw hat, he said:

"It's a puppet."

Roman had used this trick countless times during their training sessions.

!? ——————

In the arena, after watching Sabo eat the Mera Mera no Mi and blast a massive fire punch that shattered the already ruined arena, bringing light to the underground, Roman turned to look at Rebecca, who suddenly fell to her knees beside him.

"Hmm, now isn't the time to cry, is it?"

"I…"

"I just remembered…"

Lifting her tear-streaked face, Rebecca couldn't suppress the emotions flooding her heart—grief? Joy? Regret?

"I still have a father!!"

"…Isn't that normal? Who wouldn't have a father?"

"No, that's not what I mean, Neo."

She wiped her face, but the tears kept falling. Gripping her sword tightly, Rebecca's shoulders trembled.

"Before… before this, I never even thought about it!"

Rebecca wasn't dumb. Seeing the spectators who had just turned from toys back into humans and were now tearfully reuniting with their loved ones, she could easily figure out the truth.

"Soldier, Mr. Soldier..."

"Rebecca, you're just a little girl! Joining the arena is suicide. I won't allow it—"

It was earlier today:

"You're the one trying to get yourself killed, Soldier! Do you think your plan has any chance of success? Why are we even talking about this now? You're not my father!"

For the first time, Rebecca argued with the soldier and blurted out something she didn't mean to say.

"I'm sorry, Father."

"Waaah, I shouldn't have said that..."

Now thinking back, what on earth was she saying? The soldier is her father—

"Well, I don't mean to interrupt your moment of sorrow."

Roman pointed at the chaotic arena and Doflamingo's henchmen trying to maintain order.

"But don't you think there's something more urgent right now? All tragedies happen because of a lack of strength."

Counting on Roman to comfort someone? You might as well expect him to challenge the Four Emperors.

"Deal with the enemies first. Whether you want to cry or laugh later is up to you."

With a swoosh, Roman's figure flickered and leapt into the pit that appeared after Sabo collapsed the platform.

"There's plenty of time for that later!"

If they lose, corpses don't have the right to cry.

—

"Neo is so harsh,"

Rebecca stood up, caught the tissue floating toward her, and wiped her face. Her delicate expression turned serious.

That's right. This is no time to cry. She had to fight too!

—

"Waaah, Usopp! You're so badly hurt for our sake..."

A group of tiny Tontatta people gathered around the heavily injured Usopp, crying nonstop. Just from his wounds, it wouldn't have been surprising if he had died on the spot.

"We'll definitely build a big statue of you! Because you're our—"

"Great hero!!"

Despite his trembling, Usopp managed to raise a shaky thumbs-up.

"Everything... is under... this hero's control..."

This wasn't luck—this was a solid tactical victory, no doubt about it!

"So cool!!"

"You guys are the Tontatta tribe, right?"

A huge hand reached down and grabbed Usopp.

"I'm borrowing this man for a moment."

If the tiny Tontatta were half a hand's size compared to a normal person, then Usopp was only half a hand's size compared to the giant warrior Hajrudin.

And compared to Hajrudin, the Tontatta were like ants to humans.

"You got this beaten up to save us?"

'Hey, don't move me around so carelessly!'

"I heard some people have been toys for ten years. I can't imagine the despair they felt. Without you, we'd have met the same fate, wouldn't we?"

Hearing Hajrudin's sincere gratitude, Usopp, covered in blood, couldn't even speak.

'Can't you see how badly I'm hurt?!'

But Hajrudin ignored him, gripping Usopp's arms and raising him like a cross.

"Warriors, look closely!"

"This is the man who freed us from the curse. His name is:"

"Usopp!!"

As Hajrudin shouted, the ceiling behind him suddenly burst apart with a loud crash. Flames and light poured down, leaving everyone in the arena staring at Usopp, dumbfounded.

"This... this is..."

At the same time, white 'feathers' floated down, making the bloodied, unconscious Usopp look like a holy figure descending from heaven!

"So... so sacred!!"

"It's a miracle! Could this man be a savior sent by the heavens?"

Uh... this... Roman, who had just dispersed into falling sheets of paper, glanced at the crowd of spectators wearing expressions of "Brothers, look! It's God!" and was speechless at this overblown scene.

But no matter what, Usopp's wounds needed immediate attention, so:

Whoosh—

The flying white paper wrapped around Usopp like a pair of 'wings.'

"Woooahhh, it's really an angel!"

"Nonsense! Clearly, he's a god..."

"Thank you for saving us, God!"

...Well, as long as you're happy.

"The great hero... will... guide... you all..."

Usopp's weak, broken voice came out in fragments. With his current expression, he looked like some holy figure suffering for others. Even Cavendish and the king of Prodence were stunned, not to mention the muscle-brained warriors around him.

In truth, what Usopp really wanted to say was:

'Can someone please get me down? If this keeps up, I'll be crippled! And could you loosen your grip? Your fingers are killing me! Just because I'm covered in blood, does that excite you or something?!'

"The great hero will guide you?"

"So it's true, you're our savior! Give us your orders, Lord Usopp!"

?! Both Roman, who was wrapped up in paper, and Usopp himself were caught off guard. Fortunately, Usopp had plenty of experience making things up on the spot, so he quickly collected himself.

"Alright... listen up!"

"Help my comrades and take down the Donquixote family!"

"Ohhh, we'll follow your command!"

"The Donquixote family? Perfect timing—"

"Charge! Crush those who enslaved us and leave nothing of them standing!"

As the furious crowd charged out in all directions, a white dove landed on the giant warrior Hajrudin's shoulder.

"Excuse me, let a professional handle treating your 'god.'"
