Chapter 21: Chapter 20: Cricket System
On June 26, 2011, I had a second chance at life. I had been reborn and my sole purpose was to become a top-class cricketer. I worked hard towards my goal, meticulously planning and revising my workout routine, and even revising the rules of the game to improve my performance.
As I put in the work, I began to hear a faint sound in my head, like the sound of a bell.
[Ding!]
I wondered where the sound came from, so I started to look around my surroundings, but I couldn't find anything strange.
Then...
"Wait, what?" I was surprised as I heard the words in my head. I thought I was unhealthy and was infected with some disease just like my breathing problem in my previous life.
While I was checking my body, the sound continued to speak.
[The system sensed the increase in host's stress, diagnosing the host's body to find any issues.]
I was silent in shock, while the system began to do its work.
[Ding!]
[It is detected that the host has a breathing problem and an eyesight problem which would impact the host's cricketing career in the future.]
After hearing these words, I fell into depression as I knew what had happened in my previous life where I suffered from these problems. I thought if I could just change my mind and become a cricketer.
Then...
[Ding!]
[The system has the ability to cure the illness and make the host body healthy. Host, do you wish to continue?]
I didn't even think for a second, I just replied "Yes."
[Ding!]
[System now starts repairing your body. It might cause some pain. Host, brace for the impact.]
"Wait, repairing?" Before I could complete the sentence, I felt a huge pain in my lungs area, and my eyes started to bleed. I just bit a towel to not alert my parents who were in the next room.
Nitish had always found solace in anime and manga when he was feeling stressed or overwhelmed. The characters in these stories seemed to embody a strength and resilience that he found inspiring, and he often found himself turning to their quotes and sayings to help him get through tough times.
One quote that had always stuck with him was from Lance Armstrong: "Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever." These words reminded him that even the most difficult moments would eventually pass, and that he needed to keep pushing forward and never give up.
In addition to Lance Armstrong's quote, Nitish had also found inspiration in the characters of his favorite anime series. Ichigo Kurasaki, the protagonist of Bleach, was a particularly strong example of this. Despite facing seemingly insurmountable challenges and foes, Ichigo always managed to find the strength to persevere and protect his loved ones.
Another character that Nitish admired was Anos Voldigord from The Misfit of Demon King Academy. Anos was not only powerful, but also fiercely confident in his abilities, never doubting his own strength or worth. Watching these characters overcome their obstacles with determination and courage gave Nitish hope and strength when he needed it most.
Reading manga and watching anime had become more than just a hobby for Nitish, it was a way for him to cope with the challenges of life. The stories and characters he encountered in these media gave him a sense of hope and purpose that he sometimes struggled to find in the real world.
And while the pain he was currently experiencing was difficult to endure, Nitish knew that he would find a way to overcome it. He would draw on the strength and resilience of the characters he admired, and keep pushing forward until he emerged on the other side.
After an hour of going through this hell, the system spoke with him.
[Congrats!! Host now you're completely healthy and I really look forward to accompany you in your great journey as the World's Greatest cricketer which you couldn't be in the Previous life.]
