Overpowered Awakening: I Became Invincible With A Broken Talent

Chapter 147: Revenge (3)

Only a demon could subject a fellow human to such pain without even displaying a single emotion.

They all saw Draven as a demon at this moment.

But for White King, the one on the receiving end of everything,

he saw something worse.

Death.

Everyone possessed a different representation of death.

Most believed death was a dark-robed skeleton wielding a sharp scythe. A few were bold enough to imagine death as a sexy succubus.

But for White King.

His representation of death.

A faceless, shadowy being with red, glowing eyes, and the word (Death) floating above its head in black mist.

This was what he saw.

It sent fear into his soul, an unbelievable amount of it.

And worse, he could not even show that fear, as his body, including his nervous system, was now under Draven's command.

And that command, Draven suddenly seized.

At once, White King's body jolted back to life.

His face was soaked in blood, his vision red and blurred. His lower body was also drenched with the same blood.

The pain was triggered again, this time even stronger than before.

"Ahhhhhh!!!"

With the mercy to use his own body finally returned, he let out the blood-curdling shriek that had been suppressed for so long.

His voice cracked as he continued to scream.

The sound spread across the entire region, and everyone who heard it shivered.

The shriek continued for quite some time.

"P-please... sniff... let me go!"

He pleaded. It was the only card he could play at this moment.

But his pleading only infuriated Draven.

He placed his hand on the giant's neck and activated the same skill.

The White Giant froze once more. The horrifying pain crept through his body, and every opening in his flesh bled even more violently.

Everyone gasped as they watched the scene unfold.

But Draven remained completely unreactive.

He stopped the pain only after he was satisfied, and what followed was another blood-curdling shriek.

Then came the pleading.

As if the White Giant's pleas were triggers, Draven activated the skill once more.

What followed these moments was nothing short of bloody.

After several sessions like this, the White Giant was completely drained.

His massive, muscular body had shrunk noticeably, having lost over eighty percent of his blood.

The only reason he was still conscious was because his physique belonged to a C-rank hunter.

If he were a normal human or a lower-ranked hunter, he would have died after the first or second session.

And at this point, death would have been far better.

His power, the strength he had worked so hard to obtain, was now the very reason for this torture.

Aside from the physical pain, the psychological torment was immense.

So immense that,

"Please... kill me!"

The White Giant began to beg for death.

His greatest desire at this moment was a permanent end to everything.

"My dad said the same thing. Did you listen?"

Draven scoffed and repeated the process once again.

"This is unbearable."

Marlon thought to himself.

Even though he did not consider himself a righteous hero, torturing a fellow human in such a manner was still deeply disturbing.

But did he want to stop it?

No.

The White Giant was no saint. He deserved every bit of it.

With such thoughts in mind, Marlon simply watched the chaos unfold.

A few minutes passed.

Draven finally decided to end it.

The White Giant's head tilted to the side as his neck lost all remaining strength. His breathing was ragged, and one could clearly hear his heart beating erratically.

He was a mess. A giant reduced to nothing.

Draven observed him quietly.

The man who was involved in his father's death.

He had planned for this day for a long time, yet now that it had finally arrived, he felt conflicted.

He expected himself to feel something when killing him, but he did not.

He only felt a demonic satisfaction from witnessing his suffering, but killing him was a different matter entirely.

He looked past the broken giant and stared at the minions behind him. Some were shivering violently, while others were already shedding tears.

They avoided his gaze.

None of them could meet his eyes, as fear had long replaced loyalty.

Draven turned his attention back to the broken giant in front of him.

The White King's chest rose weakly, every breath sounding as though it could be his last.

Draven raised his hand. A dark red, ominous energy wrapped around it, buzzing with terrifying power.

Using his hand like a dagger, he stabbed straight into the giant's heart under the eyes of all the onlookers, drawing shocked gasps.

The White Giant was barely clinging to life, and as a result, he died instantly.

But Draven did not stop there.

Under everyone's stunned gaze, he reached inside and dug out the heart.

It was still beating in his hand.

He stared at it for a few moments, and then, without hesitation, he began to feast on it.

"W-what!"

The hunters reacted in disbelief.

The Black Brothers were completely overwhelmed.

A human feasting on another human's heart was unheard of.

The Leon Brothers, witnessing this scene, could only pray that the ground would open up and swallow them whole.

At that moment, some of them recalled the rumors spreading within the gang about how many of their members had been killed one after another.

Such deaths were not unusual in the Deadlight District. People killed and died over trivial reasons, even over food and clean water.

Not only that, danger-zone breaks were frequent, and the district was infested with monsters roaming freely in search of prey.

But those particular deaths.

There was something unsettlingly similar about them. Their chests were torn open, and their hearts were missing.

Witnessing what had just occurred, they finally realized who the culprit was.

And that realization plunged them into chaos.

Gasps and yelps of fear erupted throughout the area.

Marlon stood stunned.

"So that was what his Devour talent stood for."

He finally understood it.

But what did Draven gain from eating them? Experience points, stat points, or even skills?

The question lingered in his mind.

But it was soon answered.

Draven activated the new skill he had obtained.

[ Luminous Muscle Enhancement ]

A white glow spread over his body.

At that moment, his muscles bulged outward, growing larger, denser, and far more refined.

His height also increased abruptly, rising from five foot two to well over six feet tall.

"Skills."

The realization dawned on Marlon.

The Devour talent.

It was monstrous.

And as he thought about it more deeply, he realized…
