Our Multiverse Adventure as Gokaigers

A/N: Sorry for the late uploads but my finals are coming up, but I'll upload a new chapter whenever I can.

We went into the forest behind the mansion and after walking for several minutes, we arrived in an open field in the middle of the forest.

Shinobu turned around toward me, looked around the area and said "This should be far enough. So, are you ready Ren-san?"

"I'm ready but before we begin, how'll we decide the winner?" I asked while getting into a stance with my right hand on the katana.

"That's easy. We will fight until one of us gets vitally injured. Is that all?" Shinobu says as she put her hand on her katana handle.

"Wait, vitally injured?" I asked feeling conflicted.

"Yes. I want you to think of me as an enemy that's trying to kill you because I will try to kill you with all my strength. So, please don't hold back Ren-san or else you will die."

"*sigh* Are you sure?"

"Yes!" She said very firmly.

I wanted to refuse her. But the look in her eyes told me I couldn't do it.

Fuuuuuuu

"Very well. Are you ready?" I asked after calming my mind.

"Umu. Let's start."

(Ren-san, please show me your strength so that I can trust you. Show me that you won't leave me like the others! Show me that you will survive! Because deep down I think I really want to trust you.)

We stared at each other without moving, waiting for the other person to strike first. Just then, a breeze comes in from behind carrying some leaves with it. The moment the leaves falls between us, she draws her katana and tried to thrust me with the tip multiple time.

I tilted my head to avoid her attack and slashes her from below. She jumped backward to gain some distance between us, and I followed and tried to slash her neck.

Clang

She blocked my katana, redirected it to the side and kicked me in the stomach. *Bam* I flew backward and readied myself for her next attack. She rushed toward me and swung her katana from below aiming at my face.

I leaned backward to avoid it and kicked her hand holding the katana. *Bam* But she quickly caught it with her left hand and jumped back to avoid my slash.

I quickly rushed at her and spun around her body doing a backhand slash at her back. She jumped backward over me and kicked me in the back.

She dashed toward me but this time she spins her body before she reaches me, covering the sight of the katana with her haori. Her katana pierced through her haori, aimed straight for my lungs.

Without any hesitation, I dashed toward her, barley avoiding he attack by lowering my body and tilting my head, but her katana managed to get a cut on my cheek. *Bam* I tackled her with my full force as she skidded along the grassy field.

She quickly used her elbow to dislocate my right shoulder *Crack* *Bam*and I punched the side of her ribs with all my force throwing her away as she spat out some fluid.

She rolled on the ground several time before she was back on her feet while holding the place, I punched with one hand.

*Crack* I relocated my shoulder with my left hand, picked up my katana and readied myself for the next match.

(It's time to get serious.)

I started using thunder breathing to speed up my movements and rushed at her with far greater speed than before.

Sparks fly between us as we exchange multiple strikes. Our katanas lock together with mine as I push her back. She jumped away to gain some distance between us and got into a stance. She leaned her boy forward, her right hand on the handle with her left foot stepped backward.

"As expected of you Ren-san but now I'm going to start using my breathing techniques."

Suuuuuu

She disappeared from my vision as I feel a cold sensation on my neck. *Clang* I barely blocked her attack with her blade almost reaching my neck. I redirected the blade toward the side and tried to back away, but she kept on attacking me without giving me any room to breathe.

I finally noticed a gap in her attacks where I last punched her as I kept blocking her relentless strikes. But I also noticed my movements getting slower despite using thunder breathing.

I quickly stepped back and thrusted my katana at her through the gap. She spined her body dodging my attack and brought down her katana onto mine. I parried her strike with a horizontal swing and jumped away.

I run toward the forest beside me, hoping to use the trees to my advantage with her following behind quickly.

"Insect Breathing: Butterfly Dance" I heard from behind me and immediately threw my body to the side when I saw a blur went past me. I turned around and saw Shinobu crouching with her katana extended.

She turned around, pointed her katana at me and said, "Now the real fight begins."

I didn't take my eyes off her and used Thunder Breathing First Form: Thunderclap and Flash! to launched myself at her aiming for her stomach.

Insect Breathing: Dance of the Bee Sting!

She moved at the same speed and when we got in range, I take a downward slash at her, and she thrust her katana cover in poison at my chest.

I tilted my body out of the way, but her katana managed to briefly stab me in the shoulder. *whoosh* I managed to cut a few strands of her hair before she jumped away.

I ran toward her using thunder breathing and attacked her restlessly with her being able to each attack.

I kept pushing her back but by doing so the poison began to spread much faster and it slowdown my movements. Because of my attacks slowing down, she found an opening in my attacks and kicked my foot trying to throw me off balanced.

I fell down and when I hit the ground, I immediately rolled away barley missing her katana. I quickly get up from the ground and ran into the forest.

(I can't keep fighting for long. I can already fell her poison has already started to affect me. I'm using my breathing techniques to slow it down, but it won't last for long.)

I used Thunder Breathing First Form: Thunderclap and Flash to dashed to a tree a couple of meters away in front of me. I turned around midair and position myself with my feet and back against the tree.

Shinobu followed me and got into my field of vision when she entered the forest.

Thunder Breathing First Form: Thunderclap and Flash!

I kicked against the tree and launched myself at her ready to take her head off. She turned her katana tip toward my head and thrust it toward my head. *ting* My attack slides off her katana and I rolled on the ground after passing over her and did a backhand slash from below as I turned around.

She dodged it by jumping backward but her back hit against a tree. I followed with a downward slash at her. *ting*She blocked the slash with her back against the tree. I push my katana toward her neck with all of my remaining strength.

She ducked under the attack and redirected it to the tree. *thud* My katana got stuck in the tree and she kicked my stomach. *Bam*

She followed the kick with and did a downward toward my neck, but I spun around and did a roundhouse kick at her head.

Bam

She blocked it with her forearm and jumped away. I quicky used the opening to get my katana the was stuck. I heard the sound of an object coming toward my head and pulled out my katana just in time to jump out of the way.

I used Water breathing Eighth Form: Waterfall Basin to attack from above.

She dodged my katana and kept moving backward as I follow her with my Water Breathing Third Form: Flowing Dance! I adjusted my moments to match hers and kept pressuring her earlier injury.

We moved around amongst the trees trying to either attack or avoid one another. Her poison spreading faster with each movement. I tried to cut her back and neck multiple time, but she kept on dodging them with her small body.

(Fuck! I can't keep on going like this. It's now or never!)

I guided our battle from the trees to an open field and started pressuring her with all of my strength.

Water Breathing Tenth Form: Constant Flux!

I spin with each attack, gaining momentum with each movement while pursuing her.

Insect Breathing Dance of the Centipede

Shinobu jumped back to a fair distance and moved in a zigzag pattern with a speed I couldn't see. But I could hear the friction in the air. With my hearing, I predicted her movement and attacked.

TING

I guided my katana to slide against her attack and went past her as I readied my final move.

Water breathing First Form: Water Surface Slash!

Shinobu tried to turn around, but I was faster. As she fully turns around, my blade was against her neck. I stopped my arm to not decapitate her and she fell on the ground on her knees with some blood dripping down her neck from a small cut.

"! Shinobu! Are you ok!? I'm sorry, I thought..."

At that moment Shinobu smiled in relief and stood up from the ground without caring about the wound on her neck.

She put an end to my rumbling by hugging me. "*Shusssh* It's ok Ren. Everything is fine now... yeah, everything is just fine..." She leans in on my chest and we stayed like that for a while until I lost all my strength from the poison and fall over. After that, she carried me down the mountain and put me to sleep in my bed.

The next morning, I woke up in the bed I usually wakes up with bandages covering my shoulder. I got up and stayed on the bed and thought about last night battle.

(I did it. I really beat her last night. Now, I'm one step closer to mastering my breathing styles and finally unlocking the power. I hope Shinobu is fine after the injury but... if I couldn't stop the blade in time... nononno don't think about it... I fell unconscious after the battle. I guess she bandaged me up.)

Just then, Shinobu came in holding a tray of food with bandages around her neck. She said "Good morning, Ren. How are you feeling?" and walked toward my bed after putting the tray on the table.

"I'm feeling fine but how about you?"

"I'm all right. So, Ren, can we go in the evening?"

"Sure, but where are we going to go this evening?"

"Huh? Why on our date of course."

"D-Date!"

"Yeah, you won last night fair and square. Now if you excuse me, I have to go prepare myself for the evening. See you this evening Ren or should I say my boyfriend. *wink*" She left the room with a smile.

In the evening, just before the sunset, I got ready for our date. With the help of Aoi-san, I got dressed in the yukata that I asked Naho-chan to buy this morning.

"Thanks for helping me put this on Nobi." I said while standing with my arms spread as Nobi helped me put on my new yukata.

"Don't mention it. It's my pleasure. But imagine my surprise when you came to me asking for help to get ready for a date."

"Well, you were the only male friend I could think of on the spot. Beside I gave you compensation for your trouble."

"Treating me to a free bowl of Ramen is not enough. *hump* You're lucky I love Ramen."

"Oh, don't be such a tsundere."

"A tsunder_what? Never mind... There, it's done now."

"So, what do you think, does it look ok?" I asked while showing him my new look.

"It looks great on you. Nice choice on the outfit by the way."

"You think so? Naho-chan picked it out for me."

"*nod* *nod* I think you're ready for the date. By the way you never told me who you were going on a date."

"Well, it's kind of a secret... (which I don't know.)"

*knock* *knock*

I stopped talking as I heard someone knocking on the door. I went ahead and opened it to find Shinobu in a beautiful yukata.

I stared at her not being able to say anything but "wow."

"Fufufu. Ara, thank you for the compliment. You look great yourself. So, are you ready to go?"

"Ah! Just give me one minute. I'll meet you at the front gate."

"All right, I'll wait for you there." She turned around and walked toward the front gate.

I turned around and saw Nobi with his mouth wide open.

"Y-Your date is with K-Kocho-sama?"

"Yeah, why?" I asked feeling puzzled.

"How did you managed to ask her out! Many young demon slayers have tried it in the past and they all ended up with broken bones the next day! There was this one time where she *shiver* just remembering that make me shiver. Anyway, how did you do it!?"

"Well, I will tell you that it wasn't easy. I would tell you the whole story, but I really have to get going. Don't want to keep her waiting."

"*sigh* just be careful with her."

"Yeah, I will!" I shouted while running to the front gate.

I ran out of the mansion after getting my gift for the evening from my room.

"Ren, are you ready for our date?"

"I'm ready."

"Then, shall we set out?"

"Yeah, but you haven't told me where we are going yet."

"Fufufufu You'll see." She said and without waiting for me, she ran toward the south. I followed her and we ran like that for 30 minutes until we entered a crowed town that seems to be holding a festival.

"We're here." She said as she stopped near the stairs that lead to the temple above the hill.

We went up the stair and I saw food stands, game stands and all kind of shops.

"A summer festival?" I exclaimed surprised at her choice.

"Yeah. It's fairly popular around these parts. So, what do you think?"

"I think it's perfect. I'm guessing you got this inspiration from..."

"*Yeap, you guessed it. I took inspiration from some romance anime I used to watch." She said with a smile.

"*Nod* *Nod* What now? To be honest, I never been on a date." I said while scratching the back of my head.

"Now, we have fun!" She said and took off into the crowd. "S-Shinobu wait for me!" I shouted and went after her.

We each tried different games and food from almost every stall. Shinobu tried a throwing game where you have to throw a circle on to the water bottle. She won the most expensive item, a beautiful fox mask.

"How do I look."

"Absolutely gorgeous." I answered my honest thoughts.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Ufufufu. I'm glad. Now come on, there are still so many things to do." and just like that time passes quickly into the night.

"Man, who would've thought that you were good at throwing games, but I guess that's a Hashira for ya... *Shake my head* No, this has nothing to do with being a Hashira. That's just your skills."

"Ufufufu. Flattery will get you somewhere you know."

"Oh? Where will it get me then?" I teased.

She moved her mouth next to my ears and said, "Why don't you find out tonight."

"*blush* Ahem! Isn't it too soon."

"For what?"

"Well, you know, the thing you just said..."

"Ara. I just meant giving you a massage. Did you think of something bad? Ufufufu. What a naughty boy."

"Cmon, don't tease me like that. I'll get angry you know."

We stared at each other until both of us finally burst out laughing.

"Hahahahaha... But serious question... do you want to try the yakisoba from the shop?"

"Umu, let's go."

We took a short after the festival near the stairs. The festival was already over and all the people who runs the game stalls and food stalls were cleaning up.

We both sat there in silence staring at the night sky until Shinobu spoke first.

"Hey Ren."

"Yeah? What is it?"

"When we fought, you won. But there was no confirmation that you want me to be your girlfriend."

"Well, I was in the heat of that moment and your poison didn't help either. But now that you mention it..." I turned to face her, took a deep breath and said, "Shinobu Kocho, Will you b"

"KYAAA!"

"Will you be m"

"SOMEBODY HELP!"

"Will you"

"SAVE ME!"

(*sigh* You got to be fucking kidding me.)

"Shinobu, I know it suck but can we deal with whatever it is first."

"Good idea. I was just thinking the same thing." She said with a vein in her forehead.

We rushed to see what happened when we saw a big fat demon eating some people while others ran away.

"Shinobu, did you bring your katana?" I asked her while taking a stance.

"No. But I do have a dagger for protection. How about you?"

"I've got a kunai and 1 smoke bomb."

"Good. Are you ready?" asked Shinobu while leaning forward.

"I'm always ready."

"3...2...1... Go!" We both dashed toward the demon and when it saw us, it opened its mouth sucking everything in front of him.

"Suck on this!" I threw the smoke bomb into the demon's mouth. The smoke bomb exploded when it entered the demon's mouth and covered his field of vision. As it coughs from the smoke, Shinobu and I went for the neck.

We cut the demon's neck from both sides and its head flew into the air detached from the body.

"Now Shinobu, help me find some rope so we can tie the demon's head."

"Oh my, Ren are you sure you want to do it with a demon?"

"What?!! No! Ewe gross! I asked for rope because I don't want the demon to regenerate, and we both don't have our katana. So, we have to wait for the sun to rise."

I tied the head on the branch of a tree facing east. I heard a thud behind me and when I turned around, I saw Shinobu on one knee staring at me with her hand outstretch.

"Ren...will you be mine?"

"*smile* I'll be yours, but I also have a question...Shinobu, will you be mine?" I put my hand onto hers.

She stood up from the ground and with tears in her eyes she said, "What are you saying silly, I'm already yours." and jumped to hug me.

We sat on the stairs holding each other hand and after waited for a couple of hours, we welcomed the morning sun. After the sun rose and the demon turned to ash, we returned to the mansion while holding each other's hands.

I spent the next 3 days by waking up in the morning, eating breakfast with the girl sleeping on the porch or talking with Shinobu about our interests in the afternoon and training before dinner and then going to sleep. I was starting to get impatience when Rengoku-san finally arrived.

I was walking toward my room after lunch on the fourth day when I heard a very loud shout from the front.

"Excuse me! Is Ren-san here!"

I ran out to the front door full of excitement and opened the door.

"Yes! Welcome Rengoku-san. I glad you've finally arrived. Is it time for us to go?" I asked felling excited about training under him.

"Not yet." Rengoku shakes his head. "First, I need to report to Oyakata-sama. I came here first to remind you to get ready since we'll be leaving in the evening once I 've finish my report."

"Yes, I will get ready then." I nodded.

"Very well, I will see you in the evening." said Rengoku-san and leaved the Butterfly Estate.

I closed the door and headed toward my room to get my supplies ready for the trip. However, when I open my room, I saw Shinobu leaning against the wall next to my bed with her eyes closed.

She opened her eyes as she heard me entered the room.

"Um Shinobu, what are you doing in my room?"

"I heard you were going to leave this evening, so I came to say goodbye."

"*smirk* What, are you missing me already?" I teased.

"Yes." She replied bluntly.

"Oh..."

"And I'm worried about you. Specifically, about upper rank three Akaza. From what you told me even Rengoku-san died fighting him. I'm just...not sure about you going." said Shinobu while biting her lower lip.

"Shinobu, we've already talked about this, and you've already tested my strength yourself. Beside I can't tell for sure that we'll meet Akaza. Maby my arrival changed some things. And don't think of this as a goodbye because no matter what happen I promise you that I will return to you. "

"I know. It just...I'm going to be lonely without you." She comes close to me and hugged me.

I smiled at her behavior, patted her head and said "Yeah, I will be missing you too. I will keep thinking about you all the time and not some other girls."

"You better be. If not, I'm going to get mad." Shinobu lifted her head from my chest and pouted.

(But seriously, if you think even for a moment about other girls...I will know and I will torture them, cut them little by little and when they beg for mercy, I will give it to them in the most painful way possible.)

"Now, I'll have to get going, I need to restock my poison supplies. See you later Ren." She said and leaved the room.

"Yeah, see you later Shinobu." I went near my bed and saw my old red coat on the bed with a note that said, "A gift from your one and only girlfriend."

I smiled while reading the note feeling warm in my chest. (Thank you Shinobu, I'll cherish it.) I wore the red coat she gave and attached my katana to the belt. I meditated until that evening when Rengoku-san came, and we took off on the road.

Tap Tap Tap Tap

"So, Rengoku-san where will we be going?" I asked while running behind him.

"We'll be going to a village nearby. I have report of a demon sighting in that area, and I want to see how you will deal with it. That way I can see your strength and weaknesses in a battle. Of course, I'll interfere if things get too dangerous but unless if it's one of the twelve moons, I doubt you will have a problem. Now, Let's speed up, we want to get there before the demon attack any of the villagers."

"Yes!" I responded and increased our speed.

After an hour or so, we arrived in a village that was completely silent with any lights with only the moon light as our guide. When I focus my hearing to try to locate the demon, I heard a faint scream from the east.

"Rengoku-san! I can hear screaming coming from the east of the village!" I said as I darted toward the source of the sound.

"I see. Then we should hurry." He said as he followed me.

"Ren, I want you to kill the demon by yourself. Do you think you can do it?"

"Leave it to me!"

"Very well. Show me your skills!"

Thunder Breathing First Form: Thunderclap and Flash!

I dashed toward the sound using thunder breathing to arrive ahead of Rengoku-san. When I arrived, I saw a demon eating the brain of a woman with several children's corpses beside him.

"Huh? A demon slayer? Wait for me to finish eating then I deal with you." said the demon without paying me any attention.

I dashed toward the demon without answering him and when I was about to cut his neck, I heard the ground beneath me moved. I jumped away at the last second as the earth beneath my feet suddenly rose up in the form of a spike.

"Tch, you demon slayers never listen." said the demon while facing up.

"Very well then, if you want to die that much, I'll fulfil your wish!" He shouted as the earth around me formed into spikes and were thrown at me.

Fuuuuuuu

Thunder breathing self-made Third form: Dance of lighting!

I spun 360° and released consecutive slashes cutting all the rocks before they reached me.
