Chapter 326: Du Guangyuan (Seeking Subscription)
Just as Wang Yiyi felt she was about to vomit from the constant tremors of the Earth beneath her, the relentless shaking finally lessened. Before she could rise from the ground, she felt something pressing against her lower back—a cold barrel of a gun was aimed at the back of her head.
"Don't move, or I'll blow your brains out!"
Hearing the cold voice of the young man behind her, Wang Yiyi knew he was the kind who meant business, so she hurriedly stretched out her hands to signal surrender!
"Old Jiang! Give her....!" Pei Yan hadn't even finished speaking when he suddenly felt a frenzy of internal energy swirling within Wang Yiyi's body beneath him, causing his eyes to turn red! Was she treating his words like a joke and thinking he was a pushover?
Boom! Without hesitation, a close-range electromagnetic cannon exploded resoundingly.
After the smoke cleared, seeing the large pit in the ground and the empty space, Pei Yan looked around angrily and cursed: "Damn it! Everyone I meet today seems to have mastered the Substitute Technique!"
After discovering Wang Yiyi had escaped, Ye Jiumu and the others quickly looked around. Soon, Xia Yu found her trail and shouted, "Over there!"
Looking in the direction of the voice, they saw Wang Yiyi on another hilltop, leaning on a large tree and panting heavily, desperately trying to calm her chaotic internal energy to quickly restore it, so she could use it to escape Jiezhi Space.
"She's trying to escape!" As soon as Pei Yan spoke, his body had already darted out.
"It's too late! Xia Yu!" Watching the white light rise slowly above Wang Yiyi's head, Ye Jiumu's eyes filled with blood as he used his powers to lock on to her, concurrently flinging a large photo that appeared beside him.
Without a word, Xia Yu jumped into it. On another mountain top, Wang Yiyi, extremely anxious, almost breathed a sigh of relief seeing the hope of escape. But just as she was about to communicate with Jiezhi Space to teleport out, she felt her entire internal energy freeze, and her every move slowed down as if someone had pressed the slow-motion button on her.
At that moment, Wang Yiyi suddenly recalled Shitang Longsi's earlier encounter. Whose power was this? That mechanical kid! No, could it really be him? Feeling a scorching gaze fixed on her, she struggled to turn her head and look into the distance. Once her gaze met with Ye Jiumu's in the air, she felt her body stiffen even more. Was it him? That boy who had been fighting her all along!
Just then, a light flashed beside her, and with the emergence of a large photo, Wang Yiyi felt her constrained state loosen. She looked up to see Ye Jiumu already kneeling to the ground in the distance. Yes, it was him! But now she couldn't afford any distractions!
With her internal energy running smoothly again, she looked to the sky, urging her internal power frantically with a roar: "Quick, hurry, I'm almost there!"
A tremendous crash! As the light descended, Pei Yan stopped mid-flight. From the moment he spotted Wang Yiyi to his rush over, only a dozen seconds had passed. Watching the light fall from the sky, Pei Yan couldn't tell if Xia Yu had successfully intercepted the opponent until the light dissipated, revealing the situation on the hilltop, and he couldn't help but grin.
In a deep pit atop the hill, Xia Yu was straddling the unconscious Wang Yiyi, seizing her wrist and flipping her over to secure her with restraining cuffs.
Landing at the edge of the pit, Pei Yan carefully examined Wang Yiyi, who had been subdued by Xia Yu. She was truly in a miserable state; her exposed skin was entirely covered in bruises and swelling, as if run over by a car, her eyes white, and foaming at the mouth, having long lost consciousness.
Just as Pei Yan observed, at the critical moment earlier, Xia Yu had burst out of space and immediately deployed the domain she accessed after her fourth-level awakening, freely adjusting gravitational forces, repulsion, and attraction within a 500-meter radius around her without being affected herself.
Wang Yiyi, who had ascended mid-air, fell right into this domain, feeling her body pulled toward the ground like being sucked by a powerful vacuum, then crushed under a ten-ton weight repeatedly and had no time to use her escape technique again before passing out.
After tying Wang Yiyi up securely, Xia Yu plopped down at the pit's edge, muttering, "In the end, I can only rely on myself in critical moments!"
Pei Yan knew she was still upset about his failure to capture Catherine. He was about to retort, claiming most credit belonged to Ye Jiumu, when another violent tremor emanated from the ground beneath them, causing the four gathered at the pit to stumble and fall.
Pei Yan quickly steadied himself, rising into the air to survey the surroundings. He rapidly pinpointed the source of the tremor, lowered his head, and called out, "It's Old Wang and my sister over there. I'll go support them; you guys assess the situation and help Brother Ruozai and Old Zheng!"
"Okay!" Jiumu's face was pallid from exerting his superpowers twice today, struggling to rise when Xia Yu pulled him back, scolding, "Your damn ability takes too much out of you. In your current state, you can't help much. Rest here for a bit before doing anything!"
With that, she turned to Jiang Donghu, nodded together, and they leaped out of the pit to rush to the other battlefields.
Meanwhile, Pei Yan had flown over Wang Wenze and the others, observing his companions and elder sister, one leg stuck deep in a sea of blood, he urgently shouted, "What's going on? Where's Du Guangyuan?"
"Damn it, Pei Yan, don't come down here. This old geezer is like a leech, impossible to kill, clinging tirelessly!" Wang Wenze constantly activated his origin to shatter the bloody sludge underfoot, cursing loudly.
Seeing her brother arrive, Pei Jin suddenly tilted her head back and yelled, "Pei Yan, this man is not an esper!"
"What? Not an esper?" Pei Yan was momentarily stunned by his sister's cryptic words—not an esper, then what? Could it be someone infiltrating from the Daoist or Magic Realms?
"Correct, my ability allows me to detect and replicate most espers' powers from their blood or body tissue, yet I can't replicate his. His power is definitely not from an esper!" Pei Jin shouted, extending her arms as powerful origin energy erupted from her feet, blasting away the swamp of blood trapping them and, individually holding Wang Wenze and Liang Qian, flew into the air with Pei Yan.
"Little girl, you're not wrong. I've hidden in this world for so many years, and you're the second one..." As he spoke, a figure covered entirely in blood slowly emerged from the sea of blood. Craning his head toward his speech's end, he corrected himself, "Oh no! The third to see through that I'm not an esper. Very impressive!"
With a glance at Pei Yan, he smiled and said, "There's no need for wild guesses. I'm neither from the Daoist Realm nor the Magic Realm. I'm a genuine Earthling! A Chinese!"
Taking a look around, he sighed, "It's such a pity. I thought after this mission, I could obtain an origin fragment from Divinity's Desire. But given how things look now, that wish is unfulfillable. Since Shitang Longsi, Mu Fanchen's direct disciple, has already fled first, there's no reason for me to stay either. I shall take my leave first, everyone!"
