Chapter 698: Teaching to Fish (Part 3)
"Lord, please come in and have a seat. Today, you must stay for a meal with us."
As she said this, she called out into the house.
"Sanada, come quickly, see who's here."
Hearing the call, a gentle-looking witch appeared with two little girls, who seemed to be about seven or eight years old.
"Lord Yagyu! You're really okay, thank goodness, Amaterasu bless you."
The gentle witch, upon seeing Yagyū Jubei, was quite excited, covering her face and repeatedly thanking the deities for their protection.
Then, she brought the two little witches forward, introducing her daughters to their benefactor.
"Kana, Edako, come and meet Lord Yagyu."
In short, the family was very enthusiastic.
This warmth moved Miss Sword Master.
She hadn't expected, after not seeing them for decades, that this family would recognize her at first glance. These were true friends, unlike those she'd encountered before.
However, while she was moved, her gaze swept across the household's furnishings, and she immediately assessed it as a straightforward home.
Inside looked no better than outside; the furniture and objects visibly old and worn. It was clear this family's life was not very affluent.
Miss Sword Master found herself caught in a dilemma; how could she feel comfortable asking to borrow money in such a situation?
Yet, while she hesitated, others did not.
Dorothy saw the family earnestly starting to prepare a meal. She quickly interrupted, as now was not the time for eating. They still needed to visit many of Yagyu's friends' homes, so.....
"Yagyu had a falling out with her family, has no money, and is in debt to a terrifying entity. If she doesn't pay it off, she'll die, so she's here to borrow money. Will you lend it? If not, we need to ask other families."
The Homebody Witch heartlessly cut to the chase.
"You....."
Miss Sword Master glared angrily but couldn't react, as Miss Battosai was telling the truth.
"I'm sorry for disturbing you; we'll leave now to ask elsewhere. Don't listen to her nonsense; it's not that severe. I have many wealthy friends; I just happened to be passing by your place this time and thought I'd stop and say hi."
Yagyū Jubei's face turned crimson red, and looking at the suddenly silent family, she hurried to put on a brave front.
The graceful witch and gentle witch exchanged a glance, sharing the same indecisive hesitation in their eyes.
As Miss Sword Master was about to push Dorothy and Wenwen out, ready to flee forcefully, the graceful witch spoke up.
"Wait, Lord Yagyu, please take this with you."
She caught up to them, then pulled a bulging purse from her bosom, handing it over to Yagyū Jubei.
Miss Sword Master couldn't refuse before Dorothy snatched the purse away.
The Homebody Witch opened it and found it full of copper and silver coins, a sizable sum which, altogether, estimated to be just over a hundred gold coins.
It was not a small sum, especially considering the family's poor living conditions, making their savings quite surprising.
"Mother, that's sister's tuition for sword studies."
Seeing her mother's actions, the smaller of the two little witches grew anxious and shouted loudly.
But before she could finish, her older sister covered her mouth.
The elder little witch, shyly, said.
"My talent is not great; I can't use it. Lord Yagyu, you need this more than I do. After all, if not for you, my sister and I wouldn't even exist."
The little witch, though young, was mature and considerate to the point of being heartbreaking.
Magic Power flashed in Dorothy's eyes; she noticed this little one was quite a prodigy, possessing magic power equal to hers at only seven or eight years old.
Ah, this.....
The Homebody Witch quietly put the purse away and turned to leave.
"Stop; how can you accept this money? Doesn't your conscience hurt?"
Yagyū Jubei grew anxious, hurriedly blocking Dorothy and trying to snatch back the money, attacking her chest.
The Homebody Witch dodged with a quick step, looking at her in exasperation.
"Aren't you a Sword Master? Don't you know how to teach swordsmanship?"
She looked at her as if she were an idiot.
Miss Sword Master was taken aback, then suddenly realized.
"You have ten minutes, ten minutes before we head to the next house."
She said this.
Yagyū Jubei didn't dare delay, quickly stepping forward to take out a well-annotated Sword Manual from her bosom, handing it to the little witch eager to learn swordsmanship, and then demonstrating it rapidly.
....Miss Sword Master passing down swordsmanship....
