Otaku Witch

Chapter 673: Prestige (Part 2)

But she never expected these demons to kneel faster than she could even send out her aid, and the demon army had already dropped to their knees in unison.

"Ah, this...."

Dorothy blinked, utterly confused about what had just happened.

"It's perfectly normal. After all, Dorothy, you bear the mark of the Demon King Teacher, and you are the Second-Generation Demon King."

Above her head, Hat Senior Sister opened her eyes. She glanced at the demon army that blotted out the sky and said as much.

"Hiss, is this title really that useful?"

The Homebody Witch was startled. She pulled out her Identity Card, looked at her titles, and was quite surprised.

Back when Lord Demon King first bestowed this title upon her, she was rather proud, thinking she was quite impressive, with the potential to become something great. But later on, it wasn't until senior Fanny mocked her, giving her a title like "Ruler of Ancient Days," which seemed far more prestigious than the somewhat frivolous "Second-Generation Demon King."

Senior Fanny's casual demeanor made Dorothy feel like these titles were perhaps just intimidating in name but not really valuable. But she truly never expected this little title to possess such intimidating power that could make an entire demon army kneel.

"Eh, wait, when did I get another title?"

Dorothy hadn't looked at her Identity Card for a long time, and upon seeing it now, she discovered she had gained the title "God above Gods."

"Goodness, does this title actually come with an innate UR-level talent?"

She had no idea until now, and when she saw it, she was so shocked she nearly blinded herself with the colorful glow of UR-level talent.

The only time she had seen a UR level was on senior Fanny's Identity Card, which seemed to be a power only possessed by those of Sage Level, yet now the title she carried came with an added UR ability—something she had never heard of before.

However, after looking at the inexplicable talent description and scratching her head, she understood the origin of this bizarre title.

In her heart, Dorothy was deeply touched, realizing having a good sister was like having a treasure.

Although Lord Demon King's reward came first, in the end, it was her Good Sister who cared for her the most.

See, even the talent bestowed by the title is UR, rather than the stingy SSR from Lord Demon King and senior Fanny.

This is what the Homebody Witch thought in her heart.

"It's not that the title itself is terrifying; it's purely the impressive face value of the Demon King Teacher. Besides, the aura of the Demon King's favor on you is excessively strong. Teacher hasn't even favored me, her own disciple, or even her own daughter to one percent of what she's given you."

Above Dorothy's head, senior Fanny looked at the chaos caused by the kneeling demons, who blocked further demons from emerging from the abyss rift, nearly causing a stampede, and spoke in a slightly sour tone.

Although all Three Kings were her teachers, the Demon King Teacher was her true mentor by tradition, having mainly been raised by the Demon King Teacher. Her merry-making personality was all thanks to this Teacher's influence.

But senior Fanny had never seen the Demon King Teacher give such a significant favor to anyone. Although the title "Second-Generation Demon King" sounds a bit humorous and lacks prestige, the Demon King Teacher was always poor in naming. This title could easily be converted into "Demon Prince," "Abyssal Crown Prince," "Devil King's Chosen," or something equally grand.

This isn't just some ordinary title handed out liberally. It represents the crown prince position of the Abyss and the current Demon Witch Kingdom. To be blunt, should the Demon King Teacher perish, Dorothy could use this title to claim first in line of succession.

Yet such an important title was earned by Dorothy simply by passing a basic Nine Gates Exam. Do you think that's reasonable?

Sure, the Nine Gates Unified Exam is ludicrous, but it's still just a foundational test for the Rank of Great Witch, not some high-level assessment for Sage Rank. How could it hold such prestige?

Would anyone reward a crown prince title to a kid who simply topped an elementary school exam? That's too casual. Aren't they afraid the child might grow up wrong?

Speaking of which, when Dorothy first showed her this title, although she appeared calm, she was actually quite shocked. A big part of her decision to choose Dorothy as her Master was because of the Demon King Teacher's mark.

After all, although Demon King Teacher had questionable character, a foul temper, flat chest, and a small heart, her judgment of character is quite accurate.

Moreover, among the Three Kings, Demon King Teacher possesses the most wisdom. There must be a reason for doing this, and as a disciple, senior Fanny dared not question or interfere with her Teacher's plans.

"Uh, is it really that exaggerated?"

Hearing senior Fanny's words, Dorothy was a bit skeptical.

She thought after teasing Artie several times, Lord Demon King would surely despise such an audacious disciple. If not for Good Sister's protection, she feared the Demon King Teacher might come up with a flimsy excuse to send her to the chopping block.

But now, senior Fanny claims that Lord Demon King not only doesn't dislike her but actually appreciates her. Does that make sense?

Could it be that Lord Demon King is secretly a masochist?

The Homebody Witch thought irreverently.

"Believe it or not."

Senior Fanny rolled her eyes. This was about as much hint as she could give; any more, and she couldn't account for it to the Teacher.

And Dorothy looked at the demon army kneeling before her and vaguely realized something.

Although there's a strict hierarchy among Abyssal Demons, and high noble demons exert significant level suppression over lower rank demons, if she were merely a witch who had received ordinary recognition from Lord Demon King, there's no way she'd wield enough face value for everyone to kneel. Normally, demons would at most treat her like nobility.

Yet there are several formidable Demon Overlords among the kneeling demon army, clearly noble demons themselves, who have also knelt decisively before her—this treatment is excessively high.

This truly regards her as the Second-Generation Demon King.

"Stand up, return to where you came from."

Dorothy furrowed her brows and attempted to order them as such.

"As you command."

The kneeling demons responded in unison,

Then, they began retreating at a pace several times faster than they had arrived.

"Wait, you can't leave. I have Abyssal Protection on me. Lord Mammon promised the Abyss would protect me with all its might."

Seeing the demon army she had gone to great lengths to summon beginning to retreat, Izanagi couldn't accept it. She blocked the entrance to the abyss rift, yelling angrily at the demon army.

Nevertheless, the demon army didn't bother to look at her, and a towering, muscular demon casually swatted her, now stripped of power, aside.

"Well, if it weren't for the favor from Lord Mammon we see on you, you'd be dead by now. You must know whom you've offended—that's certain death if you drag us down with you too."

"Ah, spit... Abyssal favors vary, and you'd better look at yourself. Do you think you can compare favor with this esteemed one?"

"Spit...."

"Spit...."

......

The crowd of demons left like that, while the abyss rift awkwardly shut the door as if embarrassed for a mistake.

Leaving Izanagi alone, covered in demon saliva, bewildered in her stench amidst the wind.

Why is this happening? Even if the opponent is the New Saint, that's the New Saint of the Eastern Universe. Why do you demons lick up to her like this? You're demons, not sycophants, right?

The Demon-possessed Immortal was contorted with rage.

But now, she truly had no more tricks up her sleeve, while the loathsome New Saint advanced toward her.

"Don't come any closer."

....Izanagi, in terror.....
