Otaku Witch

Chapter 658: Half-Body (Part 2)

The one who struck was naturally Dorothy. The homebody witch leaned forward, while Miss Divine Witch leaned back. The two formed the classic tango pose and then stared at each other.

Having just completed "Replenishing Magic," the two now possessed the same root of power within their bodies. This power naturally attracted each other, so under this cohesive effect, the atmosphere between them suddenly became somewhat ambiguous.

Miss Divine Witch looked at the Saint Lord before her, even though the other's face was masked and unclear. Just looking into those eyes and recalling the recent beauty, feeling the arm holding her, she found it hard to summon her strength.

It wasn't that she was infatuated; it was simply that the power she hadn't fully mastered yet naturally couldn't resist its original master.

In Dorothy's eyes, the fairy sister in her arms was as delicate and beautiful as a blooming flower, waiting to be picked.

Under the same root's attractive force, the two were involuntarily drawn closer as if enchanted.

However, just before they could act, the temple's door was suddenly pushed open with a bang.

It was Miss Ghost Mask who stormed in.

"Sorry to interrupt, perhaps I came at a bad time."

The young little shrine maiden, upon seeing the scene inside, was stunned for a few seconds before quickly shutting the door and excusing herself.

And the two inside: "........"

After a moment of silence, Dorothy gently helped Miss Divine Witch stand up straight, feeling a bit speechless inside.

"Tsk, this really aligns with the plot development typical of Japan."

Thought the homebody witch.

But she wasn't in a rush to explain anything, knowing such things couldn't be easily clarified.

Still, she reassured herself that Miss Ghost Mask was very discreet, trusting her subordinate not to spread rumors.

On the other hand, Amaterasu Life Kikyo quickly regained her composure, though her fair and beautiful face still carried a faint blush, her demeanor returned to its initial cool and ethereal state.

Miss Divine Witch walked to the door, opened it, and pulled in the little apprentice who was eavesdropping outside.

"No, Setsuna, you came at just the right time."

The young witch dared not resist and behaved obediently.

"Setsuna, it's time you knew something. Haven't you always been curious about your origins?"

Amaterasu Life Kikyo asked.

As soon as she heard her teacher's words, Amaterasu Mikoto Setsuna was taken aback.

She was indeed quite curious about her origins.

Witches are born with knowledge, but upon her birth, the first person she saw was her teacher, not her mother.

She never knew who her biological mother was.

But as she grew up, her features almost identical to her teacher, with only slight differences, seemed to suggest an answer.

The two seemed only to differ slightly in hair color and aura.

She had long purple hair and a more cheerful, lively demeanor, while the teacher had long black hair and an aura as ethereal as a fairy.

Yet she had never asked her teacher about these matters, and her teacher never brought it up, as if it was an unspoken agreement between them.

But now, with her teacher suddenly bringing this up, could it be that she's finally going to acknowledge her as her daughter?

Wait, perhaps.....

Miss Ghost Mask glanced at Lord Clown nearby and then understood.

"It's okay, teacher, if it's with Lord Clown, I don't mind."

She said this.

Hmm, the teacher must want Lord Clown to become her "stepmother."

Amaterasu Mikoto Setsuna had always been a clever and sensible child, a shrewd one indeed.

However, when she really said this, the young witch also felt a complex emotion.

For the first time in her life, she had someone she admired, and it was the first time she brought him to meet her family. But why, why did it turn out like this?

Well, she didn't exactly like Lord Clown, as she didn't know what he looked like or his age. It's not easy to like someone that easily; it was just a slight fondness.

After all, she was just a witch in her twenties, right? What's wrong with a young girl's romantic yearning?

But, no matter how she thought about it, her teacher and Lord Clown seemed to match better than she did with him.

Amaterasu Life Kikyo: "......"

Miss Divine Witch watched her apprentice's changing expressions, and with a raised hand, gave a karate chop.

"I can guess what you're thinking, but I must tell you, you're mistaken. I am not your mother."

She said this.

"Uh, well, but we look alike....."

The little shrine maiden, hurting from the chop, clutched her head but still asked in disbelief.

"Yes, we look alike because I am you, and you are me. Setsuna, you are the reincarnation of half of my being."

Amaterasu Life Kikyo explained.

"Eh..."

Miss Ghost Mask was stunned, momentarily not understanding what her teacher meant.

Seeing this, Miss Divine Witch sighed and began to explain slowly.

"I am actually the deity worshipped by this Amaterasu Shrine, Amaterasu Omikami."

"Back in those days, the three sisters and I were born by dividing the power of our father, Izanagi. Our birth announced our father's death, but our father was never someone who peacefully awaited death. Before he died, he used his last power to taint the Dragon Vein of Japan."

"As a result, the Yamata no Orochi of the Dragon Vein went mad, launching an attack, plunging the entire island into chaos."

"To calm the unrest on the island, the three sisters and I took action. Ultimately, the youngest sister, Susanoo, wielded the Kusanagi Sword to slay the rampaging Yamata no Orochi and seal it away."

"However, the Dragon Vein was the source of spiritual energy on Japan. After the Dragon Vein was sealed, our immortal paths were also severed almost completely."

"Even though the Dragon Vein can regenerate, the long years of its regeneration are not something we could wait out. Pure immortals leaving spiritual energy is like fish leaving water; it isn't possible to last long."

"The first to exhaust her strength and die was the youngest sister, Susanoo. She expended too much power to slay the Yamata no Orochi and couldn't sustain herself without new spiritual energy."

"Next was the second sister, Tsukuyomi, who transformed into an Onmyoji to resolve the chaos of the demons on the island, establishing the Onmyoji lineage, but also expending too much power."

"Only I, the Chief God of Japan, remained seated in the shrine, using my power very sparingly, just barely managing to survive until now."

Amaterasu Life Kikyo calmly recounted this lesser-known mythological past.

"Everyone on the island revered me as the Main God of Japan, but ironically, as the Main God, I have done nothing much for Japan."

"But even though I have been so stingy with my power, I still cannot change the fact that I am gradually weakening."

"I am not afraid of death, but I fear not completing my mission."

"And just as I was waiting despondently for death, someone found me."

At this point, Miss Divine Witch turned her gaze to the New Holy One.

Dorothy: "?????"

Why are you looking at me? There's no way it's me, right?

The homebody witch, engrossed in the story, was bewildered.

But soon, she had a flash of inspiration and realized something.

And Amaterasu Life Kikyo's subsequent words confirmed her guess.

"It was the God King, the Witch King, who secretly descended as an incarnation found me and offered me a way to survive, that was to forsake immortality and instead practice magic."

"Although we sisters are immortals, we were not born in the Eastern Universe but in the Witch World. Since the moment of our birth, our souls were marked by the Witch World's imprint."

"If I chose, I could reincarnate as a witch, just like my two sisters who reincarnated before me."

"Finally, I cut off half of my soul to reincarnate, while the remaining half continued to wait, and you, Setsuna, are the reincarnation of that half."

Miss Divine Witch said to her apprentice.

.....Miss Ghost Mask is shocked.....
