The cooking in the large kitchen continued, but the Succubus Witch Madeline had left the kitchen early and came to the dock again to wait for her guest.

As the president of the Armed Society, it was her duty to welcome the high-ranking official who was about to arrive.

After all, the president had only informed her of this yesterday, and he had spoken in a very secretive and elusive manner, full of riddles.

All Madeline knew was that the official was of a noble status, a senior member of one of the few top Battle Groups, and possessed extraordinary strength, especially proficient in the Combat Magic System.

The academy was lucky if it could convince such a distinguished guest to give even one lecture; less fortunate times might not even present an opportunity to meet them, let alone have such grand figures serve as long-term instructors at the academy. One could hardly even dream of it.

Currently, the only teachers of the Combat Magic System at the academy were merely retired warriors from top Battle Groups.

Fortunately, unlike other systems, mastery in the Combat Magic System is hard to achieve through sheer rote learning; the best way to make rapid progress is through battle experience. Even a top talent like Madeline valued this highly, although she was sure to be recruited by a top Battle Group after graduation, she was somewhat unsure about which one to join.

After all, her family had been involved in the arts for generations, and she was the odd one out, choosing the path of an Armed Witch, where her family's background offered limited help.

However, since both her mothers were at the peak of their respective non-combat systems, they still had some connections.

Her father's mother, also a Succubus Witch, seemed to have some connections within the Lust Battle Group of the Demon Witch's Seven Deadly Sins Battle Group and could arrange for her to join there when the time came.

As for her mother, who was a Nine-tailed Fox Witch, her maternal family had a certain status within the Orc Witch's Beast Warband, and Madeline could join there if she wished.

Both the Lust Battle Group and the Beast Warband were top Battle Groups, and having people looking out for her in them made both choices quite appealing for Madeline.

Yet, in her heart as a Succubus Witch, she wasn't very keen on joining these two Battle Groups. What she truly wished for was to join one of the top Battle Groups in the Dragon Kingdom.

After all, she had forsaken her family's legacy in the performing arts to become an Armed Witch due to her admiration for the Dragon King, hence her innate fondness for the Dragon Battle Group.

Of course, the main reason was that the Dragon Battle Group mainly consisted of Assault Witches from the Combat Magic System, which matched Madeline's major in Combat Magic as well.

Even among the top battle groups, it was impossible to cover all bases; each battle group had its own strengths. For example, the witches of the Lust Battle Group mainly focused on the Spirit System and were skilled in various Illusion Techniques, while the Beast Warband had a mix of everything but wasn't particularly specialized in any area.

What qualified them as a top group was their sheer number of members.

If one were to ask which Combat Magic System was the strongest, there was no doubt it belonged to the major battle groups of the Dragon Kingdom, after all, it was the Dragon King who had founded the Combat Magic System.

The only problem was that Madeline was not very familiar with the major battle groups of the Dragon Kingdom, and it seemed a bit odd for her, a Succubus Witch, not to join the Demon Witch Battle Group under the Devil King but instead to join the Dragon Witches' Battle Group under the Dragon King.

However, this wasn't a big issue, after all, witches didn't really have any notion of racial discrimination. Although their evolution templates varied, they were all witches by race, so there wasn't much room for discrimination.

Yet, if one didn't have someone familiar to help out, being a foreigner in someone else's territory could indeed be challenging, which was just human nature.

Madeline wasn't too worried about this, however. Given her status as the president of the Armed Society, she could definitely pick any top battle group to join, and she would be specially fostered in any of them. What really troubled her was having too many options to choose from, which dazzled her.

Under the Divine King, there was only one top battle group, the famous Cross Battle Group. Under the Devil King, there were seven top battle groups, known as the Seven Deadly Sins Battle Groups: Pride, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, and Envy.

But under the Dragon King...

The belligerent Dragon Witches were almost all armed, which meant that the Dragon Kingdom was literally a nation of warriors. There were countless battle groups, big and small, within the kingdom, with seventy to eighty that could be considered top-tier, which was really overwhelming and hard to choose from.

Originally, Madeline had thought of leveraging her network through Senior Mia from the Armed Society and joining the Golden Village Battle Group established by Mia's family after graduation.

Even though the main combat magic of Mia's family required Krypton Gold to become stronger, which was not quite suitable for a Succubus Witch, her family had generational involvement in the arts and was not short of money. They could afford the expenditure, and it might also be good to have someone watch her back on the battlefield.

The young lady's mother was the newly famous prince from the Dragon Kingdom, proclaimed as the Dragon Queen, who announced destruction. Her Legion of Destruction had declined in previous years but seemed to have recently re-entered the top ranks.

Moreover, they seemed to be continuously recruiting and expanding, which appeared to be a great opportunity, especially since the Dragon Queen's combat style was a pure embodiment of the Dragon King's direct lineage, which suited Madeline's taste very well.

However, remembering this suddenly, the Succubus Witch thought back to her earlier hint to the young lady and chuckled as she shook her head.

It seemed she had been needlessly worried; this young lady was indeed from an elite background, just like Senior Mia, with an entire top battle group at her disposal for inheritance. Why would she need someone else's recommendation like others do? No wonder her previous hint was so unimportant to the young lady.

Madeline thought about this and couldn't help but shake her head in self-mockery.

Alas, now in the academy, she was the young lady's boss, but after graduation, if she really joined the Legion of Destruction, it might turn out that the young lady would become her own boss.

While the Succubus Witch was lost in her chaotic thoughts, the dignitary she had been waiting for so long had finally arrived, and it seemed she wasn't alone. Madeline spotted a familiar figure in her company.

"Senior Mia? Could this dignitary be an elder from Senior Mia's family?"

The Succubus Witch guessed to herself.

It made sense, considering the president had mentioned this big shot was also an expert in the Combat Magic System; being a Dragon Witch wouldn't be surprising.

However, as the two figures who flew from a distance finally landed on the Armed Society's dock, and Madeline saw the tall, towering figure beside Senior Mia who was over two meters tall, she was momentarily stunned and then gasped in surprise.

"Oh my, that's the Dragon Queen..."
