Chapter 2: Chapter 2: A Journey Begins

Morning sunlight filtered through the dense trees of Mount Paozu as Goku carried a large fish over his shoulder, humming a cheerful tune. The river sparkled behind him, evidence of his successful fishing trip. Saitama followed a few steps behind, his expression as neutral as ever.

"You always carry fish like that?" Saitama asked.

"Yup! It's lunch!" Goku replied, his tail swaying happily. "What do you eat, mister?"

"Anything," Saitama replied. "But I don't go around punching fish."

Goku tilted his head. "You're missing out! Fish is delicious!"

The peaceful exchange was interrupted by the roar of an engine. A capsule bike sped down the dirt path, narrowly avoiding them. Goku dropped the fish, leaping into a defensive stance. "What was that?"

Saitama glanced at the approaching dust cloud. "Looks like someone's in a hurry."

The bike came to a screeching halt, and a young woman with blue hair and a determined expression stepped off. She pulled out a strange device that emitted soft beeping noises. Her gaze locked onto Goku.

"You!" she called out. "Do you have a strange orange ball with stars on it?"

Goku frowned. "You mean my grandpa's ball?" He held up the Four-Star Ball proudly.

"That's it!" the girl exclaimed, rushing toward him. "I need that!"

"No way!" Goku said, clutching the ball protectively. "It's the only thing Grandpa left me!"

Saitama raised an eyebrow. "You're awfully pushy for someone asking a favor."

The girl hesitated, realizing her mistake. "Sorry, sorry! I'm Bulma," she said quickly, holding up her own Two-Star Ball. "I'm looking for all seven Dragon Balls. If I collect them, I can summon a dragon that grants any wish."

"A wish?" Goku asked, confused.

"Yeah, like unlimited candy or super strength!" Bulma explained, though her actual wish was less childish.

Goku scratched his head. "I don't need wishes. I'm already super strong!"

Bulma sighed, turning to Saitama. "And what about you? You look… normal."

"I'm just here," Saitama replied lazily. "Not interested in wishes."

Bulma groaned. "Fine. How about this—join me on my journey, and I'll let you keep that ball after we summon the dragon."

Goku's eyes lit up. "An adventure? That sounds fun!"

Saitama shrugged. "Sure, why not."

With their partnership settled, the trio set off on foot, Bulma leading the way while scanning her radar. Along the way, she struggled to carry her luggage, prompting Goku to offer help.

"You're pretty strong for a kid," Bulma remarked as he lifted a massive case with ease.

Saitama stayed silent, his attention on the horizon.

As they continued, a sudden roar echoed through the forest. A massive dinosaur emerged, its sharp teeth gleaming.

"Stay back!" Goku shouted, grabbing his staff.

Saitama sighed. "I'll handle this."

Before anyone could react, Saitama stepped forward and casually punched the dinosaur, sending it flying over the horizon.

Bulma's jaw dropped. "W-What was that?! How are you so strong?"

Saitama shrugged. "I train."

"Train?" Bulma repeated, still stunned. "What kind of training makes you that strong?"

"Normal training," Saitama replied, leaving it at that.

Goku laughed. "You're amazing, mister! I wanna train like you!"

As the day went on, Bulma realized the forest was too dangerous for walking. She pulled out a capsule, pressing the button and tossing it to the ground. In a puff of smoke, a car appeared.

"Whoa!" Goku exclaimed. "What kind of magic is that?"

"It's science, not magic," Bulma explained, climbing into the driver's seat. "Hop in!"

Goku hesitated, unused to such technology. Saitama climbed in without hesitation, taking the passenger seat.

"Come on, kid," he said. "It's faster than walking."

Reluctantly, Goku climbed into the back, clutching his staff and Dragon Ball tightly.

---

Their journey was cut short when the car broke down near a large tree. Bulma groaned, stepping out to inspect the damage.

"Great. Now what?" she muttered.

Goku wandered off, curious about the area. Saitama stayed with Bulma, watching her futile attempts to fix the car.

"You don't have another capsule for this?" he asked.

"I forgot to bring the repair kit," she admitted.

Saitama glanced at the car, then tapped it lightly. With a faint hum, the engine roared back to life.

Bulma stared at him, dumbfounded. "What did you just do?"

"Fixed it," he replied simply.

Goku returned just as Bulma was about to question Saitama further. "Hey! I found something cool!"

The trio followed Goku to a clearing where an enormous bear-like creature was sleeping. Beside it was a Dragon Ball.

Bulma's radar beeped furiously. "That's it! The next Dragon Ball!"

The bear stirred, growling at the intruders. Goku readied his staff, but Saitama stepped forward.

"Don't bother, kid."

One punch later, the bear was gone, and Bulma retrieved the Dragon Ball.

---

As night fell, the trio set up camp under the stars. Bulma stared at the two warriors, her curiosity about Saitama growing by the minute.

"Who are you?" she asked finally.

"Just a guy who's a hero for fun," Saitama replied, staring at the sky.

Goku grinned. "You're the strongest guy I've ever met, mister! This adventure's gonna be awesome!"

With that, the group settled in for the night, unaware of the challenges—and surprises—that lay ahead.
