#%^* years ago the world use to be a pretty normal place until heaven fell and hell rose, both of the places collided and fused with the planet and the one of the multiple main hub where these new beings reside in is New York City and it has gained the tittle of city of fog the reason why is that New York got surrounded by fog and it's surprisingly easy to enter but extremely hard to leave of the fog and because it's safer to be here in the big city than anywhere else that's not a major city, since it offers less protection from monsters.

Oh yeah and I almost forgot because of heaven and hell fusing with earth, every single person on earth got powers from these gods and demon lords and they called the ones who gave everyone people powers and the people would call those that gave them power their contractors or their sponsors.

Hello there my name is Theodore Greed I was born in the countryside in an orphanage and I have moved to this hell hole a while ago to find my childhood friend who works here and now I have been stuck here ever since. I was always been beaten up and looked down upon by people just because I was blessed by a god named Loki and people call the ones that are blessed by Loki a dead man or a cursed person when sponsored by Loki they loss all their luck and are constantly on the verge of death. Most of them didn't even last a month and gets killed by Loki's curse, and I'm was considered "lucky" for surviving this long. My parents went missing when I was a baby and my childhood friend and my crush was blessed by Zeus,Odin,Thor and every other thunder related gods and because of that she was scouted by the government to protect the world from rouge god, angles, demons aliens, and most importantly the other gods.

While I got a useless skill called 「steal」from Loki and it allows me to steal obviously but the down side is that people get warned when I steal and I can only use it once a month, so basically it's practically useless. I'm currently here running from a serial killer that has swords for arms and is now chasing me down the streets like a mad man. But recently it wasn't that bad because I received a new skill from Loki and it's called 「trickster's eye」 it allows me to see people's names and weaknesses, and can disorient people but it's still not good for combat and consumes most of my blood really fast and Loki removed his bad luck curse that he gave me, that I had since birth. And while I was running and trying to avoid all the attacks that have been launched at me. I suddenly heard a loud explosion behind me when I looked back at the crazed killer on the floor dead. And standing on top of him is a woman she looked pretty tall and wore a business suit with gloves and looked like she is from South East Asia.

[hey moron watch we're your running] said the unknown woman.

[I'm sorry] I immediately replied, I'm honestly surprised that she took him down in one shot. While I was dazed she just stood there and with an aggressive manner she said [god, why are you so wimpy, hurry up and follow me and if not I'll just carry you….useless piece of crap].

Then she suddenly and forcibly grabbed my hoodie and dragged me to a detective agency and when she opened that door I saw 5 other people that dressed similar to her, all of them are in business suits and looked excited to see me. Then the tallest one in the group excitedly walked up to me and said [are you Theodore Greed?].[y-y-yes] I was honestly surprised that he knew of me at all.

[my name is Otto and I'm the leader of this organization. And from this day forward you would be working for us with high pay of course. Oh yeah let me introduce you to your new colleagues, the one that saved you is Theresa, who if you don't know is the current saintess. The guy in the dragon mask is named Tianlóngnü and they're kind of shy and doesn't speak much, the blond one's name is Luna and she is the daughter of the current mayor, and this nurse is the famous healer and celebrity Yuri, and this butler kid here is Igor who has been working for my family since they very beginning. Now let's all get along with each other].

His confidence and charisma is honestly too much for me but I accepted the job any ways since the pay is extremely good for a detective agency. And I would later find out the reason why, it's because this is an official government agency and it's apparently the very same one that my parents used to work for. And its name is daybreak:nightfall and my official unit is unit 0: final hope. It's apparently the last line of defense for whenever bad things happen, like if an evil outer god appears and everyone fails to stop it and it's apparently my units mission to kill these evil outer god. But in reality since no outer gods have attacked in $@ years, so our unit would just do commissions and I was told that we have 4 tiers easy, normal, hard, and special. And we have capacity on how much we can accept each week because Otto doesn't want us to overwork ourselves. We can only take 10 easy per week and it's shared for all 7 of us meaning if one of use take one all of us have 9 left and it's also non combat related.Normal is 5 a week and it's also shared between us and its combat related. Hard is 1 a week and it's also shared for some reason. But special is unique since the clients for these are gods and demon lords and we get accept them only once a month with no time limit since it involves going to other worlds. While I was think about how such a system would even work properly since it would allow some people to slack off and do none of the work while still profiting.

Otto suddenly asked [oh yeah before we get started, we would like you to answer this question… what do you think makes a hero?]. I was stunned by his sudden question and I immediately replied [ a hero is someone who is ready to sacrifice himself to save the world even if the ones closest to them will hate them forever]. He immediately responded to my answer with a smile and said [that's the same thing as what you parents have said and they have fulfilled their promise and I hope you do to if that's what you believe. All of us here have different opinions on what a hero should be and we should strive for it until we reach that goal] and then he pulled out a helmet that looks like a grasshopper and it honestly would fit in a Saturday morning superhero show especially in k*men rider…. Now that I think of it, it would found in that show. Otto just looked at me and laughed and said [ I bet that you were thinking that this helmet belongs in a k*men rider show right, well your kinda correct since it's based off of ich*go after all and it is a modified version of your mom's and dad's helmets. And they called it batta 1v2 and it's meant to be used for you specifically].

I honestly was surprised when I heard that it was a gift from my parents, so I quickly took the helmet and wore it. And when it went on my head it felt like my blood flow was changed somehow, it felt like it was over flowing and felt like I was about to burst so I immediately took it off.

I immediately said [what the hell was that] and all of a sudden Theresa just said [well since the human race can't use mana, we use blood instead and these helmets were made to counter the weakness of over using our blood. Also why are you surprised it's the most basic of basic, you learn about these this in school] I immediately replayed [ I never went to school, and I was in the country side and orphaned so I wouldn't have known most of these thing, all we were taught was to never leave the village] apparently my response have surprised them because they thought I lived in the city most of my life and when I told them that I didn't they would be shocked.

Otto just relied [a-any way since you have accepted our proposal, you now have to sing this contract, and don't worry it's actually normal]. Even thought Otto said that the contract is normal, but when I read it, it was definitely not normal like it was 10 pages long but most of the pages are just h*ntai tags. With I confused look I asked [hey this contract is definitely not normal, like isn't obviously that r*ping someone or committing bestiality is bad and very illegal], everyone except for Yuri sighed but instead of sighing she chuckled and Luna angrily replied [it's because of this woman *points at Yuri* and her weird fetishes that she discovers every month that the contract gets longer and drains morale every single month].

I was shocked when I heard that because wasn't Yuri the poster child for the ideal healer or something, and that kinda stun-locked me for a few seconds.[a-any ways, um I have question] I asked Long while trying to divert the topic,[what is it] they replied calmingly, I asked [uh are you a girl?] and everyone is the room was surprised. And Igor calmly replied with voice of a kid [young sir, you are correct and you currently are ranked #2 on how fast you realized their gender] and Luna smugly and immediately replied [I'm currently #1 since I guessed her gender when I first saw her and I didn't have to use my powers to guess unlike you did Loki's saint].[wait you knew I used my eyes] I replied and she smugly said [of course I am a demi-goddess after all]

[ok,enough with the side tangent, now that you signed the contract you can't die anymore and will suffer with us for eternity, you wimp] Theresa interrupted and she proceeded to slit her throat and a minute later she got up and said [cool isn't it and I gave my extremely annoying and lazy sponser a good laugh]. Speaking about sponsor's I got curious about everyone else's sponser so I asked [um if it's not rude for me to ask but who are your sponsors since mine is Loki, you know the trickster and fire god]. Otto with a sad look on his face said [I'm sorry to disappoint you but we can't share this information since it is redacted and also most gods don't want to be associated with us for some reason so our gods have to redact their names to protect themselves.] I was disappointed by that information but I can understand why since our job is to kill misbehaving gods.

[well you're in luck since I can share my god's information, he's the divine throne of time and the creator of all of existence, even space,time, and the multiple multiverse] Theresa proudly said.

[well, his tittle is cool and all but he is a trickster god, who is friends with Loki and Wukong and mind you he is the GOD OF GODS, and someone of his power should not be a trickster god AND what's worse is that most or if not all of our highest paid commissions are all of his work that HE PUSHES TO US] Luna angrily yelled. And now the mood has gone sour and everyone is laughing awkwardly,

[we'll see you tomorrow for your first day at work] Otto awkwardly says, I replied back to him with a smile and said [ok see you tomorrow].
