Chapter 42 - Please Take Off Your Clothes, I'll Do My Best
“What are you talking about?! Ouch!”
“Hey, hey, if you shout, your wound will reopen.”
(You’re the one who made me shout.)
I ended up shouting and held my stomach. My torn abdominal muscles seemed like they would start bleeding.
“Wow, you’re lucky to be able to choose from three such cute girls.”
Jealous, Ijuin raised both hands and made a casual remark.
“No, it’s not like that, and one of them is my sister. What kind of question is that?”
“It’s an important question, you know? Well, if you still can’t decide, I guess it can’t be helped. Anyway, joking aside…”
(You said it was a joke…)
“You can be discharged, you know? It’s just that your muscle fibers are torn. But it’s hard to stand alone, so I was wondering if you had someone to take care of you?”
“I do have someone, but…”
“Great! Then you can be discharged! Your sister turned pale when she heard the treatment cost.”
Indeed, my family’s finances are in dire straits. Since we haven’t delivered the King series yet, we have no money.
So, it was decided I would be discharged the next day. The person who came to pick me up was…
“Congratulations on your discharge, Kenya.”
It was Reina. Reina opened the door to the hospital room and came to pick me up. She had taken the day off from school, so Nana and Misuzu weren’t there.
When I contacted Nana yesterday, she said they were arguing about who would come, so she’d let me know later. Arguing? Is it that much trouble? I’ll cry, you know.
And so, Reina came. For some reason, Reina squatted down with her back to me, as if telling me to get on.
“Reina? What are you doing?”
“I thought it would be hard for you to walk…”
“Reina, there’s something called a wheelchair, you know?”
“…Sorry.”
(Is she joking? Is she trying to be funny? I can’t tell if she’s serious or joking, it’s hard to respond.)
So, I was discharged, pushed in a wheelchair by Reina. Apparently, I’ll be able to walk in about two weeks, so I’ll be living in a wheelchair until then.
“Well then, Dr. Ijuin. Thank you for everything!”
“Ah, see you in two weeks!”
We went outside the hospital. The sunlight was dazzling, burning my eyes. Maybe because it’s been a while since I’ve been outside, was the sunlight always this bright? Or is this a flash!?
Click, click, click!
(Camera sounds? Are they taking pictures?)
Then, many people with large cameras came running towards us.
“Reina Aoi! What is your relationship with the person in the wheelchair?!”
“Is he your boyfriend?!”
“There are rumors that you live in the same house!”
They must be reporters. Female reporters rushed to surround Reina and me. In an instant, we were stuck in the crowd.
As Kenya imagined, they were reporters. With a scandal involving the national and international model Reina Aoi, there’s no way they wouldn’t cover it.
“B-Boyfriend! A word, please!”
“I’m not her boyfriend!”
I couldn’t escape with the microphone thrust in my face, making me grimace in pain. Ouch, ouch, you’re pressing too hard!!
“Kenya, hold on tight.”
Reina whispered in my ear. Her breath tickled my ear, making me let out a strange sound.
“Huh?”
Then Reina lifted me along with the wheelchair. And then…
“She flew!!”
“Take pictures! Take pictures!”
Click, click, click!
With her status over 1000, Reina carried Kenya and flew. She quickly left the reporters behind and sped away.
…
“Are you okay, Kenya?”
“Don’t do anything reckless, Reina.”
We escaped the reporters and started walking down a normal street. We were photographed multiple times, even on the train, so I’ll probably be famous by tomorrow.
“Reina Aoi has a boyfriend! Who is the mysterious man in the wheelchair?”
Such headlines will likely be on the front page… Even though it’s not true, denying it won’t help. I just hope Reina’s fans don’t stab me. But no villain should be able to penetrate the defense of this Black Dragon Robe.
At that time, I was equipped with non-physical settings. When defense power exceeds 1000, even bullets become ineffective. Kenya’s defense, which has turned into a monster, won’t be harmed by a mere villain’s knife.
“It feels really nostalgic.”
We arrived home. Reina helped me into the prepared futon. With Reina’s status, a princess carry would be easy. From this angle, Reina looks really handsome.
“Good job.”
“Ah, thank you, Reina, for bringing me here.”
“No, you’ve always helped me, Kenya.”
Then Reina took a deep breath.
“Phew…”
“Reina?”
“Okay!”
Reina, determined about something, rummaged through her bag and took something out.
(Is that a pharmacy bag?)
She took something out of the pharmacy bag and sat next to me. She took a deep breath, seemingly determined, and looked straight at me.
“Kenya, I might not be able to do it well, but…”
Reina’s breathing quickened. Her cheeks were red, and her eyes were moist.
“Huh?”
“Please… take off your clothes.”
“Huh?”
“You must be pent-up, Kenya. I’ll take care of you. I’ll do my best!”
And so, I took off my clothes.
