Chapter 72: Shaking The Origin World!
The next moment, a line of metal tendrils slithered out from the cold surface of the bed and wrapped tightly around the man's limbs and torso, restraining him completely.
"What?" he gasped, eyes wide with shock as he turned to Aleron, his voice shaking. "Mas… Master, what are you trying to do?"
Aleron grinned, his Abyssal eyes gleaming with amusement under the low light.
"I'm just having some fun," he replied with unsettling calmness.
Cold sweat trickled down the man's back as the chilling words sank in. A wave of fear surged through his chest, making it hard to breathe.
He stared at Aleron in disbelief, unable to accept what was happening.
"Wait, wait, wait!" he pleaded, his voice growing shrill. But Aleron didn't even acknowledge the words. He calmly approached the control panel with slow, deliberate steps.
Realizing his pleas were useless, the man's fear turned to desperation. He thrashed against the metallic restraints and screamed, his voice echoing throughout the facility.
"Please, I beg you! Stop! I'll do anything!"
Aleron's expression remained unreadable. A veil of indifference had fallen over his face as he reached the panel and began operating the controls with practiced ease.
A quiet hum filled the room. The man's eyes bulged as a pained expression overtook his face. His body jerked slightly as a rush of medicinal liquids surged into his veins. His breathing became erratic, and his screams turned into hoarse gasps.
His eyes locked onto Aleron, silently begging for mercy as the pain overwhelmed him.
"Subject one: terminated," Aleron said lightly, his voice void of emotion as he stared at the trembling figure one final time.
Then he turned, sighed softly, and walked away.
A still, bitter chill lingered in the air. The scent of chemicals and burnt flesh hung like a veil across the room. The death of the man seemed to echo in silence, and even the shadows recoiled from the coldness that remained.
Aleron stepped out of the building and paused, glancing at his surroundings.
His expression shifted slightly.
Before him lay a barren wasteland scorched by fire. The once-standing structures of the Genesis Coil base had been reduced to piles of ash. The skies were hazy, smoke curling upwards from charred ground. The only structure left intact was the building he had just exited.
"This… Ashkar…" Aleron muttered, recognizing the signature behind the destruction.
Not far away, the massive red-scaled dragon raised its head lazily. Flames flickered along its nostrils, and a grin formed on its broad snout.
"Dad, you're finally out. How did it go?" Ashkar asked, voice deep and relaxed, tail swaying rhythmically behind him.
Seeing Aleron in a good mood, the dragon assumed everything had gone according to plan.
"Yes, everything went well, haha," Aleron chuckled. He stepped forward, his cloak fluttering slightly in the hot breeze. "We still have six days left. With that time, let's hunt down the remaining Genesis Coil branches and wipe them out."
Ashkar's eyes lit up with excitement.
"More killing?" came a calm, feminine voice in Aleron's mind.
A moment later, a graceful silver dragon descended from the sky. Her scales shimmered in the morning light, and her wings moved with silent majesty. Veldora landed beside them and gazed across the scorched land with a neutral, almost detached expression.
She sighed softly, the wind catching her long mane.
Aleron reached up and patted her head gently. "These ones deserved everything they got. You shouldn't worry yourself over it. Now come. Let's go and destroy every last Genesis Coil base we can find."
With a light laugh, he leapt onto Ashkar's back.
Once settled, he tapped the dragon's scales. Ashkar responded instantly, rising into the air. The wind howled beneath them as the trio ascended, cutting silently through the night sky.
After a few moments, Ashkar slowed. His eyes narrowed as he looked back at the single remaining Genesis Coil building.
Without warning, the dragon opened his jaws and released a torrent of flames. The blazing inferno engulfed the building, consuming it in seconds.
Satisfied, Ashkar resumed flight, soaring silently with Aleron and Veldora into the distance—heading toward the direction given by the now-dead informant.
By dawn, the faint light of morning stretched across the sky. A group of Origin Warriors from the previous night finally reached the site. They had noticed the strange energy fluctuations and glow earlier, but when they arrived, they were stunned.
Their eyes scanned the scene in disbelief.
"What… What happened here?" one of them asked.
Where once stood a formidable Genesis Coil facility, now there was nothing but ash and scorched ground.
No survivors.
No buildings.
Nothing but a ruined wasteland, quiet and still.
They quickly began recording footage, transmitting it across the internet. Within minutes, the entire Origin World was watching.
It wasn't just destruction.
It was a message.
A single-sided massacre carried out with terrifying efficiency.
The videos exploded online, going viral within the hour.
"In a single night, a Genesis Coil branch has been wiped out by an unknown force. No one knows who was behind it or what their motive was."
"Reports confirm that the facility is uninhabitable, with no sign of lingering battle or occupation. The one responsible either possesses a monstrous Origin Ability or a terrifying summon."
"Is the Genesis Coil going to stay silent after this?"
Speculation soared.
The public waited anxiously to see how the Genesis Coil would respond to such an attack.
Some believed the attacker would be found and executed swiftly. Others weren't so sure. Many speculated that whoever did this was a being of such power that even the Genesis Coil feared retaliation.
While the world waited in suspense, another night passed without a response.
And then, the next morning, the world was shaken again.
Two more Genesis Coil branches had been annihilated.
In a single night.
These were not minor outposts. They were fortified bases, far stronger than the previous branch.
Once again, the public fell into chaos. The impossibility of it stunned even the most skeptical.
"Will the Genesis Coil finally act?"
"Who is this phantom force?"
Everyone demanded answers, but none came.
By the third day, things took a darker turn.
"Three more Genesis Coil branches have been found completely wiped out. In two of them, not even the surrounding abomination infestations remain. Nothing is left within miles."
"All abominations have been exterminated. Just who is this mysterious young man?"
The headlines spread like wildfire.
Panic grew.
The Genesis Coil had suffered six major losses in less than seventy-two hours.
The world held its breath, waiting for what would come next.
