Only I Awaken The Forbidden SSS-Rank Dragons

Chapter 52: Aleron vs Mello...

"So… you have finally realized. What do you think of this? The new creation of the Genesis Coil. It is still under research, but we have finally found a way to nullify one's origin ability."

"The Genesis Coil is one step closer to ruling this world!"

Mello let out a loud, echoing laugh, his voice thick with pride. At last, he felt triumphant.

Seeing the shock on Aleron's face, his grin widened. "Did you really think you would be able to match me?"

Aleron stared at him, stunned by the concept of nullifying an origin ability.

However, that was not what truly left him in a daze.

Glancing at his system interface, he noticed that both of his origin abilities were still displayed.

'It seems this nullification only prevents one from using their origin ability. The ability itself remains intact. Then, with time, the bullet's effect should wear off.'

Aleron analyzed the situation in silence, his mind racing, though outwardly he kept a calm, unshaken expression.

Besides, his origin ability was suppressed, but there had been a time when he had not even possessed an origin ability and had still been a terrifying esper.

"Who said my origin ability was needed to defeat you?"

He turned his gaze briefly toward his daughter and spoke in the depths of his heart.

'Daughter, it is time to help your father. Here is what you must do.'

He relayed the method of fusion to the dragon.

Veldora hesitated at first, her deep, molten eyes narrowing.

Then, with a sharp beat of her wings, she soared forward before lunging toward Aleron at frightening speed.

Mello's eyes widened as he saw this.

How was this possible?

Until now, he had assumed Aleron was merely someone who had stumbled upon a secret method, training his beast through a rare evolution path.

But now… seeing Aleron begin to fuse with his beast filled him with disbelief.

How could one fuse and merge with their beast?

He had never witnessed anything like it.

And this was clearly not an origin ability—he had already nullified Aleron's origin ability, so how could he still possess such a power?

"Fredrick, you have to help!" Mello barked to the young man standing on a nearby rooftop.

Earlier, he had told him to stay out of the fight, but now, realizing that Aleron was far beyond the level of ordinary summoners, he did not hesitate to call for aid.

A terrifying wave of origin energy erupted into the air, rolling out like a violent tide and obscuring everything in a dense haze of dust and light.

When the dust cleared, Aleron emerged, his body glowing with a strange, radiant purple aura.

The scales on his arms shifted in color, interwoven patterns of deep crimson and shadowy blue.

His form now looked like a completely new breed of dragon altogether.

His eyes had changed as well, dark and abyssal, with two sharp vertical slits, each glowing with a different hue.

This was Aleron's new fusion form with Ashkar and Veldora—Fusion Level Two.

And it did not stop there. He had also awakened the Infernal and Abyssal Eyes.

Power surged through him like a roaring storm. He had never felt so strong in his life.

The sensation was intoxicating, almost divine.

For a brief moment, a thought crossed his mind.

If fusing with just two dragons brought such a dramatic transformation, what would happen if he gathered all twelve forbidden dragons, fused with them, and gained all twelve forbidden eyes?

How strong would he become then?

By that point, conquering the starry skies would not just be a dream—he could reign over them.

He quickly shook the ambitious thought away and fixed his gaze back on the two Genesis Coil members.

Mello raised his gun, his finger tightening on the trigger, sending a volley of glowing projectiles hurtling toward Aleron.

At the same time, Fredrick made his move, summoning a massive stone golem.

The creature radiated a heavy, oppressive aura, its carved face twisted into a fierce snarl.

Using the golem's strength-enhancing abilities, Fredrick lunged at Aleron with all his might.

Aleron felt the pressure from the attack, but he was utterly unmoved.

With a single sweeping motion of his claw, he struck the golem in the ribs, sending it flying through the air.

The golem smashed into a nearby building with tremendous force.

Cracks split its stone body, fragments breaking away as it struggled to hold form before crumbling almost entirely.

Aleron did not even glance at the fallen summon. His next strike was already aimed at Fredrick.

Fredrick had witnessed the devastating force behind that claw and dared not take it head-on.

He dodged to the side, a faint green barrier shimmering into existence around him and Mello.

This was his origin ability—specialized in defense.

Seeing the protective barrier, Aleron's eyes gleamed.

He lunged forward, his movements now so fast from the fusion's enhancement that Mello and Fredrick barely had time to react.

A clawed fist slammed down onto the barrier, and cracks instantly spread across its surface.

Fredrick's face went pale.

How terrifying was Aleron now?

Before they could recover, Aleron struck again, his fist crashing into the barrier with enough force to send a shudder through the ground.

Crack…

The sound was sharp and cold. One more hit and the shield would fail.

Without hesitation, Aleron struck once more.

Bang!

The barrier shattered into countless fragments of green light, scattering through the air before fading into nothingness.

Aleron grinned, the expression predatory.

Saving the best for last, his monstrous claw seized Fredrick by the head.

Fredrick's eyes filled with horror under Aleron's abyssal gaze.

Before he could plead for mercy, Aleron's grip tightened. Bone gave way with a sickening crunch.

[Congratulations on killing a minor member of the Genesis Coil. Mission completion rate has increased slightly.]

[Congratulations, Origin Devourer. You have received the C-grade Defense Barrier.]

[Do you wish to continue the upgrade of the B-grade Metal Control?]

Aleron glanced at the notifications, dismissing them at once. Now was not the time to dwell on rewards.

He turned toward Mello, his grin widening.

"When you attacked me back then at the Genesis Coil, you never imagined this moment would come, did you?"

A strange heat spread through Aleron's body, a dark urge rising from deep within.

The desire to make Mello suffer was almost impossible to suppress.

He would start repaying the Genesis Coil for all their sins… beginning with Mello.
