Chapter 351: Now He’s My Ex
After regrouping, Mei Fang, Xia Yuan, and Lin Youxi strolled around the university together. Though the campus was crowded, few people actively followed them—most just discreetly snapped photos or whispered among themselves.
"You'll get used to it… The novelty will wear off soon."
When Xia Yuan first went viral, Jiangcheng Shiyi High had been the same. The frenzy died down within two weeks, and by the time Mei Fang rose to fame, everyone treated it as old news. He'd been a little miffed back then, but now he'd finally gotten his moment.
Pengcheng University's sprawling campus boasted gleaming academic buildings, labs, and cafeterias, lush greenery, and plenty of long-legged upperclasswomen—a dreamlike experience for freshmen.
But what did Mei Fang have to envy?
Was studying more fun than Xia Yuan? Were the cafeterias better than Lin Youxi's cooking? Were any seniors prettier than his wives?
After walking awhile, Xia Yuan plopped onto a bench to rub her legs. "I'm beat… The campus isn't that exciting. Should we check out the dorms now? Oh, we'll need to buy stuff for them too…"
Mei Fang nodded. "How about we hit an off-campus supermarket for daily essentials first? Then meet our roommates and grab lunch at the cafeteria?"
"Sounds good, but carrying everything will be a pain."
After splitting up, Mei Fang retrieved his car. Today was Pengcheng University's open day, so vehicles could enter freely.
Luxury cars were common around campus. Though Mei Fang's Benz was this year's flagship model, it paled beside the Rolls-Royces, Cayennes, Bentleys, Cadillacs, and Maseratis—let alone the sports cars zooming past. No one gave it a second glance.
When Mei Fang picked up Lin Youxi and Xia Yuan (now laden with shopping bags), they headed to the dormitory area.
"YuanYuan and Youxi are in Lilac Hall. I'm in Maple Pavilion… Let's get you two settled first."
Since they'd only bought bedding and basics, Mei Fang carried one set while Xia Yuan and Lin Youxi shared the other.
At Lilac Hall's entrance, they passed a group of chatting upperclassmen. Spotting the girls struggling with bags, the boys eagerly offered help.
"Need a hand?"
"No thanks, we've got it."
"C'mon, let us—"
"We said no. Move."
Lin Youxi's icy tone sent them scattering. Not everyone recognized the trio at first—until a senior girl in the hallway gasped, pointing at Mei Fang.
"Oh my god, it's the Stationmaster!"
Her shriek alerted the entire floor. Though no one dared approach, all eyes were on them.
"The Stationmaster's my junior? Pinch me!"
"He's so baby-faced… I wanna squish him!"
"In your dreams. You see the two beside him? What've you got over Yuanbao or the Young Miss?"
"My chest is bigger than the Young Miss's, and I'm taller than Yuanbao!"
"Your audacity alone is legendary."
Unfazed, Mei Fang held the elevator door open for hesitant students—who promptly crammed in, squeezing him into a corner surrounded by girls.
Xia Yuan's dorm was on a lower floor. After helping her unpack, Mei Fang headed upstairs to assist Lin Youxi.
Unlike Xia Yuan's trendy roommates, Lin Youxi's were more typical freshmen—makeup-free, awkward, and plainly dressed. They didn't seem to recognize her, which was rare in Pengcheng. (Or maybe they were just too shy to ask.)
As Mei Fang diligently made Lin Youxi's bed, her roommates watched enviously.
"Is your boyfriend a freshman here too? He's so attentive."
"He's not my boyfriend."
Lin Youxi folded clothes without looking up.
"Not? Then… brother? Cousin? Just a friend?"
"My childhood friend. We met in kindergarten at five."
She smiled. "We've been close ever since."
"F-Five?! Growing up together… You must be so close! Why aren't you dating?"
"We did. Recently broke up."
"Huh?!"
Lin Youxi cheerfully clarified, "So now, he's my ex."
"E-EX-BOYFRIEND?!"
Mei Fang shot her a resigned look. Lin Youxi merely met his gaze and grinned.
Her relationship game had officially begun.
